1789 Tasting Notes
And, 159!
Thanks Sil! I wasn’t sure what to expect with a bourbon tea, but I’m enjoying this one. It’s not my fav puerh, but do like the woodiness of this, as well as the sweetness. I think it’s a little smoky as well. I’ll probably end up steeping this a few times , and then I’ll move on to the salted caramel hot chocolate I grabbed from Bulk Barn!
I can’t believe I haven’t logged this one yet. It’s so good! I only steeped it for 30seconds in a huge 14oz cup, and the result is just sweet, and amazing just slightly earthy. I’ll have to do a better review of this later, when I didn’t drink the cup while I was playing minecraft and not note all the incredible flavours.
Also, I should restock on Mandala teas some time in the next few months! :O
Backlog: I finished this cup up yesterday, and quite enjoyed it, even though I rarely crave white teas. This one was a bit more flavourful than I remember other whites – it had a thicker mouthfeel and made me think of bark, but without that being unpleasant? It was slightly nutty and a little sweet too. Fantastic! Thanks VariaTEA for sharing this with me!
I finished the last of this up (160!) this morning, as I forced my brain to wake up and get on with it. I think I trained my body to expect coffee first thing because of Tim Horton’s ‘Roll Up the Rim Contest’. I’m such a sucker. A terrible, horrible sucker.
But this was strong, and it definitely helped! I enjoyed it while I had it, but I’m not in a rush to reorder it, especially with the CDN so craptastic!
Thank you Bonny for grabbing these, and to Sil for passing it along . This tea is fantastic. It’s just, really amazing. I steeped it for 2 minutes, and the result is clear, and light, and tastes like rice, and sweetness, and spring.
I also really love that these teas are individually wrapped – they’re so convenient to steep, and I’m considering how easy they’d be to keep around the office. And they’ll stay fresh longer too!
I’m actually quite excited to resteep this a few more times, especially since the tuo cha hasn’t fallen apart much at all! :) Thanks!
This tea is hitting all the right spots today. It’s sweet, and chocolatey in the same way that Laoshan Black is, but I’m also getting something fruity, like dark cherry and honey from it too. I’ve been savoring this cup for an hour now, and I’m just going to have to resteep it. There’s nothing else to be done.
Woo! I just got restocked on this and so I brought a ccup to work!
(Why only a cup? Why didn’t a bring a tin?)
Anyway, it’s lovely and I’m happy I have it, but my taste buds must be off bc not only am I getting the typical fresh amazing chocolatey notes I expect, I swear I’m getting… blueberries.
Really? Blueberries? Ha. I might be imaginging this, but I wanted to note it so I can compare it to my next cup!
Sipdown! And I’m at 160, until I get home and open up my Verdant order. :P
I’m slowly letting go of sipdowns again. I don’t want to feel like I HAVE to drink teas that I’m nearly out of and feel lost when there’s nothing that only has 1-2 cups left. I stress myself out so easily you guys. :P
But it is still nice to finish this because it sat in my cupboard for a few months! It’s your typical Adagio blend – a muddle of flavours. This time it’s EG, with caramel, and something that makes me think of cookies and some other things that don’t really match but don’t take away too much either.
Considering I’m drinking this while I organize all my fanfic in Calibre (800 stories! :O), this is the PERFECT choice. (And how many of these stories are to fix the terribleness that was Reichenbach? SEVERAL). I transferred everything over to calibre a few months ago, which meant I lost all my tags/story summaries, and then I forgot I hadn’t finished updating them and now I am and it’s really great. GUYS, it’s GREAT. Like, I will literally know how many Supernatural stories I have, and how many Harry Potter ones, and I can already easily find the one where the octopus keeps hitting on Tony Stark (who’s not at all interested). This, well, it just comes up, ok. :P
nice! I’ve got to get everything out in the mail this week. So many teas waiting patiently to get to their homes.
Hahah, right?
:P I just discovered a cute story about Archer and Lana as parents too: http://archiveofourown.org/works/1523768
