775 Tasting Notes
We decided to each make a different cup to do a comparison of sorts. I put this one in my cup, and Alexa has Golden Dragon Black, Lot 241.
This one reminds me quite a bit of Bailin. It’s light, yet not, with a malty, nearly light syrupy flavour. The syrupy-ness could almost be a light honey flavour, though I am so picky about my honey flavours. It is definitely tasty though.
I originally enjoyed Mi Xian from Stacy, but quickly realized it wasn’t my favourite straight black, as far as straight blacks go. I ordered this one anyway, and it is tasty, but again, it isn’t going to become a favourite anytime soon.
It has a crisper flavour profile than the Wild Mountain Black I’m finding. Maybe clearer? That’s difficult to put into words. It doesn’t have the same intensity of honey-like sweetness that I so love. It’s far more subtle, with oats taking a more prominent position.
It is tasty, and I will more than enjoy the wee 25g sample we ordered. I’ll see if, by the end of the sample, I feel the need for more. Perhaps Alexa will love our sample, and it will become what will eventually be an amalgamated cupboard of our teas.
I went off the Steepster steeping parameters for this and the Yuchi WMB last night. I do wish TTC would include steeping parameters on their website.
Preparation
whatshesaid wrote such an enticing note for TTC that I decided to order a few black tea samples for Alexa and I. We rescued the teas from the post yesterday and had all intentions of drinking this one last night, but ended up having it tonight instead.
I so wish I still had a wee bit of TWMB to compare, because I think this is it. This is as close as she’s going to get. I must order more. This one has that awesome natural sweetness I so love in my straight black teas. I am thoroughly enjoying this cuppa.
I may now have the TTC website open…
Preparation
I hope I’ll always love this one. It managed to turn around my short-lived repulsion of tea the last few weeks. Though it’s not technically tea, it seemed to do the trick.
I managed to shatter my French press the other day, but finally made it today to pick up a new one. Even so, I brewed this tonight in my regular mug infuser. Silly, silly.
I love the dark chocolate taste, and the more I drink this one, the more the coconut comes through. This one is by far my favourite of all the Crio Brüs I tried, and the one I’ll continue restocking. I picked up the regular size (massive) bag some months ago, and it’s really dwindling quickly. Truly a delightful cuppa.
whatshesaid sent this to me quite a while ago now and I decided to whip up a cup before settling down to finally study this afternoon.
It’s a lovely white tea. I’m not always in the mood for a straight white, but this one is great today. It’s soft and slightly reminiscent of hay. It’s almost as fuzzy to drink as it appears in dry form. I’ll save the rest for my girl.
Thanks whatshesaid!
Preparation
I made this one in my teapot tonight for A and I to share. I can never decide whether or not to reorder this one. Sometimes I’m sure I want more, and others I’m sure I can live without it. Decisions, decisions.
It’s tasty tonight in the teapot. I’ll always enjoy the lightness and fresh taste of this one.
Also, we did an order to Taiwan Tea Crafts the other day! Thrilled!
My girlfriend introduced me to chai lattes a few weeks ago, but specifically to an actual tasty one at a cafe in the city here – Gravity. Last night I may have had a dream about this chai latte. So today, between playing video games – rather than catching up on studying like we both should be – we went to fetch these amazing chai lattes.
Seriously, amazing. Perfectly creamy, which I’m sure is due to the milk, but also chai tasty underneath the creaminess.
Finishing off the last of this one with my favourite girl. Now my Crio Brüs are down to just Cavalla and Pumpkin Spice. Cavalla will stay, permanently.
This one is tasty, but came out ever so slightly bitter. I just seem to have the problem where I compare them all to the amazingness that is Cavalla. Regardless, I’ve been feeling off tea as of late, and this one is sitting great this afternoon as we sit and sip on tea while researching.
My awesome girlfriend got me a teapot and matching cups for Christmas. Today we used them for the first time with this tea.
This tea was awesome, as usual.
The studying is never-ending. I’ve not had coffee since Halloween. Enter Kenyan black tea.
This one is surprisingly creamy, while still the typical deep, dark Kenyan black. Quite enjoyable. A nice boost to get me through the next few hours.
