Enjoying this one this morning – thank you to VariaTEA :)

This one is perfect for a chilly morning. I steeped this one then ran outside to shovel the front walk and sidewalk, and this was the perfect temperature when I got back in.

This one seems to be a perfect breakfast tea, minus any astringency. Just a deep morning flavour that goes down smooth.

Another tea company I may have to check out! I almost forgot how much fun swaps can be haha.

I’m so happy you like this one. I sent so much and was terrified you would hate it and be annoyed I stuck you with such a large amount.

This was my morning tea as I got caught up on all the things happening with the Mi’kmaq fishery crisis since yesterday.

This tea is always a great choice, a light, yet flavourful and smooth drink. And perfect for the chilly and snowy morning.

This is another awesome sample sent to me by VariaTEA :)

I’m slowly but surely catching up on all the things and this tea has really helped boost my motivation after hours of listening to lectures on environmental assessment.

This tea has a perfect subtle black tea flavour for me today. Absolutely no astringency (yay) and smooth. It’s not too intense in flavour, just light and smooth – perfect for any time of day.

I actually think I’ll have to check out this tea company – I’ve never ordered from them before, but this tea has inspired me to at least look over their website!

Thanks VariaTEA!

I really like Camellia Sinensis. They also have great teaware that is pretty affordable as well :)

I really need to eventually order from Camellia Sinensis, I’ve been interested in their flavored teas for years but never ordered for some reason…

Leafhopper

I also like Camellia Sinensis and have ordered a lot of tea from them over the years. Their Shan Lin Xi, Mi Xiang Hong Cha, Feng Huang Hong Cha, and most of their Darjeelings are good.

Courtney

Thanks for introducing me to the VariaTEA!

I’m going to be checking their webpage tonight I think Cameron :)

Leafhopper that’s awesome, thanks for the suggestions! I love straight black teas, so I’ll check some of those out. :)

I steeped this one up for my first volunteer shift this morning and it was perfect as usual!

I have so much catching up to do and decided to wade through some of it tonight with this tea!

This one is really tasty — very smooth with the slightest hint of mineral, but with a subtle background sweetness as well. I wish I had ordered more!

I’ve loved everything I’ve gotten from Taiwan Tea Crafts, and I love their sample sizes with the free shipping!

Courtney

They really are the best!

Another great sample from VariaTEA!

I steeped this one at just under boiling (very scientific, left the kettle open for a few seconds after it came to the boil) for 4 minutes.

This one smelled fairly sweet, but I felt adventurous today. The flavour is actually great! I can’t believe I’m enjoying this as much as I am because I usually don’t care for ‘overly’ flavoured teas, but this one is well done.

This has a very smooth feel with a healthy dose of vanilla and coconut. The base is not astringent at all, which I love. Overall a really smooth and lovely cuppa this afternoon.

Thanks VariaTEA!

Thanks VariaTEA for sharing this one (and many others)!

Made this one while trying to catch up on school work and volunteer stuff after getting back late Friday night.

The dry scent was very “breakfast blend-y” and the steeped scent is similar. The taste is a nice black tea with the slightest astringency, but nothing overwhelming at all. I’m actually really enjoying this one overall. I’m excited to have so much to enjoy!

VariaTEA

Yay! I love when tea swaps go well because I would have never drank this one so glad it went somewhere it would be enjoyed!

Courtney

Thanks! :)

Another day in NS quarantine and another wee cup of this tea!

I love the difference in water in NS, it adds to the tea and I’m grateful I get to enjoy it for a few weeks before heading back!

We had to unexpectedly fly home last Thursday and are here for three weeks (quarantine for two). I only managed to pack this tea, Dandy Blend, Relax & Renew, and some coffee for our time here. We’re juggling work, my new term of classes starts today, and family stuff, so yay for tea!

This one is tasty as always and I’m so glad I had the forethought to grab it in our rush to pack last minute.

I enjoyed two cups of this this afternoon to finish off the workday before a week off to celebrate our first wedding anniversary <3!

Loving this one with some coconut simple syrup and homemade cream. It’s just delicious! I made it hot this afternoon, but I also enjoy it cold like this. I’m so thrilled to have discovered this unique drink.

happy anniversary!

Bio

A few of my favourite things: animals, the ocean, science (I’m currently doing my MSc in biology), travel, all things summer, and of course – tea!

I love chatting biology, so feel free to ask me about what I study or follow my instagram @biologistcourtney!

I love black teas and this is what I’m usually drinking. I pretty well always drink my tea without anything added.

I’m also fond of herbals, oolongs, and subtly flavoured greens. Whites are also enjoyable, and I’m always looking for a replacement for my all-time favourite Butiki’s White Rhino.

Pu’erhs, rooibos (specifically red, I’m more open to green), honeybush, and matés are not my favourite. I tend to avoid them altogether unless others find them so amazing they shouldn’t be missed.

Likes:
Creaminess, toffee, cacao (true dark chocolate flavour), coconut (true coconut flavour), and rhubarb. I’m open to flavoured teas but they can’t be cloying or fake/candy like.

Dislikes:
Any smokiness at all, bergamot, flowers (rose and jasmine), hibiscus is hit and miss.
