1789 Tasting Notes
Sipdown (149)
I was sipping this all day while we moved the last of our stuff back into the suite. Eeesh. It was such a long day but this was such a beauiful tea. Thanks Sil I didn’t get a chance to log it while I made it but it was great and quite tolerant to abuse. (Sorry tea – I kept steeping it for 8-10 minutes…)
Sipdown! I’m at 150. :)
I guess it’s pretty easy to do when you actually stop ordering teas! Now, to see if I can join Sil in the 100’s… (and then order more, most likely – hahaha)
Anyway, thank you Sil and/or VariaTEA for letting me try this. Sorry I couldn’t remember exactly who it was that gave me the cup! It is really relaxing though. I almost feel like I should have a sore throat or a cold or something to fully appreciate this, but it’s really just what I need to end this day! Still got more moving/unpacking stuff to do tomorrow, so goodnight Steepsterites!

Even though I finished this now, I hadn’t reviewed this because I was undecided while I sipped it.
I drank some of it cold-steeped earlier today with dinner, and I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t memorable enough. I tried to have a goodnight cup of this but my daughter pushed into me and I ended up spilling the cup down the stove and into all the burners. Le sigh. :p
So now I’m making chamomile to relax!
(Sipdown, 152)
I think this was a free sample with my last order as I generally don’t order anything other than black teas. It’s tasty though! Buttery and light and very vegetal. It seems like a poor choice for 9 at night – maybe it’d be better in the morning or afternoon. Or at least some time when the sun is up?
Oh, and the spinach notes linger long afterwards…
This tea is good, but not mind-blowing. Maybe I’m jaded? I drank some favorites earlier so it’s hard to compete with that… This is a pleasant black/green mix with a bit of strawberry jam flavoring that I like, but it’s nothing I could live without. I wouldn’t refuse it though. It’s good. It’s just hard to compete with all the exceptional teas out there.
Thanks Sil for letting me try it!
And I’m at 160!!!
(I might go back up when my Butiki order arrives, but I don’t think it’s even shipped yet so I have time!)
(162) I enjoyed this with breakfast this morning. I like it – it’s dark and roasty – but I couldn’t tell you what makes it different from the one i bought from Teavivre!
(163) I already miss this tea, and I haven’t even finished my cup. :P
Also, I’m sorta impressed that I’m down to 163 teas. I haven’t been focusing on sipdowns lately but I guess I’m in the habit of reaching for teas who are nearly done as I alternate between absolute favorites, and trying smaller samples. It should be easy to hit 150 this month, even with the 9 teas from Butiki I have incoming!
Thank you! I am actually feeling okay. Now it’s just a matter of waiting for the taste to come back.
