drank The Earl's Garden by DAVIDsTEA

I love the smell of strawberry here. Although it’s more strawberry candy smell then genuine strawberries. But it’s helping drown out the bergamot, which I’m not too fond of.

Yes! I’m enjoying this one. I may add a touch of agave and see what happens but I’m liking it as is too :) Finally a variation of Earl Grey I can drink and enjoy :)

drank Creme Brulee by DAVIDsTEA

I have yet to find a rooibos I enjoy. This is next to the docket. The smell dry is deliciously caramel, but steeped it has a somewhat medicinal scent.

Hmm. Tastes medicinal as well. Darn. Perhaps my tastebuds are off today.

I’d suggest Creme Caramel by DAVIDsTEA, it’s pretty tasty, I just tried it yesterday :), Jessie’s Tea isn’t too bad either, very sweet and if you like coconut, you will probably enjoy it! My favorite rooibos though would have to be Lemon Chiffon by Della Terra Teas. I hope you eventually find one that you like!

This one wasn’t on my list today, but it sat on the counter staring at me until I finally gave in and asked for 10g.

It smells almost peppery? Is that right? Perhaps that’s the lemongrass. I don’t think I’m really enjoying this one too much. I have enough for another round so I’ll have to try it iced.

Smells so good! Almost creamy. I’m excited for this one. I got the Tung Ting Vietnam because they were out of this last week and ended up loving it. I was over the moon they had this one today.

Also, I wrapped up a mango pit in a wet paper towel a few days ago and it’s sprouting – yay!

I am really enjoying these plain oolongs much more so than the flavoured ones. This is another hit. I can see myself keeping this one around. Perhaps this or Tung Ting Vietnam. Whichever they have in stock at the time :)

I was rereading this because you swapped this sample with me. I need to know, what’s the sprouted mango pit for?

Courtney

Haha it’s nothing to do with the tea, just a little story because I was excited about it :P I really didn’t expect anything when I wrapped it up in wet paper towel on a whim.

CharlotteZero

Ah. I was wondering what someone was doing trying to grow mangoes in Canada…LOL.

drank Salted Caramel by DAVIDsTEA

This one’s pretty yummy. I’m feeling the black is overwhelming the flavours so I added a drop of agave and it’s better now. Perhaps not permanent collection but delicious nonetheless.

drank Long Life Oolong by DAVIDsTEA

Oh yes. Anything I can smell summer in automatically has an advantage. I know that’s probably not right, but what can I say? I live for summer.
This is another I got from our “tea party” on Friday. I’m already excited for next Friday haha.

Yum, yum. I’m off to breakfast and I’ll finish this cup on the way. I’ll add more on the taste when I’m back!

drank St. Petersburg by Kusmi Tea

So I work Friday nights, every week, for 4 hours. Just me, my manager, and a yoga teacher. So we decided to start something new. Tea parties!
Yep, last night we brought in some of our favs, a teapot and some bubble teacups. And drank tea all night :) Ah yes. So I swapped some teas with her and came home with this Kusmi blend. I’ve been so excited to try Kusmi!

Ooh I’m enjoying it! On first scent it smelled like a fancy Earl Grey but despite my un-fondness of Earl Grey this one’s yummy. It’s not overwhelmingly bergamot-y.

And she gave me the rest of her tin of this – so a pretty tin and a yummy tea! I’m so lucky! Good day :)

Update February 22/13: Having this one this morning before my day begins. This is my first cup of black tea in a while. Yum! But that’s my last cup of this one, does that mean sipdown? Now I just need to find some Prince Vladimir.

I have some that I can send you…it’s really not my cup of tea as I picked it up based on smell when I didn’t know I don’t really like bergamot lol. If you remind me in march I can send you some. In china ATM so I can’t exactly send anything until I get back lol

Courtney

Haha fair enough. I’ll make a note so I remember. How’s China?

Sil

China is going well…I might get a whole day off to explore sigh wish it were more….but at least the food is good :)

Thanks to kimlovestea for this one! (BTW can anyone let me know how to “tag” someone when I’m thanking them? You know, when their usename is bolded?)

Oh yum. I love me some breakfast tea. And this one is no exception. Really good, especially for a bagged tea.

Thanks again kimlovestea!

don’t know how to tag on here, but I am so glad you like it! It’s one of my first and favorite breakfast teas!

Courtney

It was delicious, a great surprise! Thanks again :)

Alphakitty

Putting stars (*) around a word will bold it!

Courtney

Thanks Alphakitty :)

This one’s delicious. Light, oh so smooth, and cantaloupe-y. I may have to place on order for Butiki Teas now! Has anyone tried Watermelon Xylophone? I’m thinking I may have to order that one as well.

Thanks to Kasumi no Chajin for sending me this one. Mmm smells minty. Tastes minty. But not overwhelmingly mint. Yum yum.

Thanks again Kasumi no Chajin!

Bio

A few of my favourite things: animals, the ocean, science (I’m currently doing my MSc in biology), travel, all things summer, and of course – tea!

I love chatting biology, so feel free to ask me about what I study or follow my instagram @biologistcourtney!

I love black teas and this is what I’m usually drinking. I pretty well always drink my tea without anything added.

I’m also fond of herbals, oolongs, and subtly flavoured greens. Whites are also enjoyable, and I’m always looking for a replacement for my all-time favourite Butiki’s White Rhino.

Pu’erhs, rooibos (specifically red, I’m more open to green), honeybush, and matés are not my favourite. I tend to avoid them altogether unless others find them so amazing they shouldn’t be missed.

Likes:
Creaminess, toffee, cacao (true dark chocolate flavour), coconut (true coconut flavour), and rhubarb. I’m open to flavoured teas but they can’t be cloying or fake/candy like.

Dislikes:
Any smokiness at all, bergamot, flowers (rose and jasmine), hibiscus is hit and miss.
