Thanks to kimlovestea for this sample :)

A really lovely cream of Earl Grey. Neither the vanilla or bergamot is too overwhelming, a nice touch. Smooth. Really well done.

Now back to Fringe. So addictive.

drank Mulberry Magic by DAVIDsTEA

This is hitting the spot tonight. Ah nothing like a cuppa and Modern Family.

This one is so deliciously light. I think I may actually prefer it over Gold Rush. Perhaps. The dry smell is very similar with the mulberry scent. I have been opening it and smelling it the last few days and then putting it back in the cupboard. But tonight when I got home the fiance requested this one so I made myself a cup too. The smell is definitely stronger than the actual tea. I’ll have to remember not to be turned off by the overwhelming sweet scent next time.

Delicious! Another amazing sample from Will Work For Tea (I think I may have tried all of them from you now) – thanks!

This one tastes just like a pumpkin pie, which FYI is my favourite pie flavour. I can taste those Thanksgiving spices. Makes me think of leaves changing colour and warm sweaters and boots. Ah what an awesome matcha. Yesterday caramel and today pumpkin pie.

I actually placed an order yesterday for the 3+1 matcha deal and today at the last minute today decided I wanted to switch out one of my matchas for a different flavour. I sent a quick email and I was impressed with the near immediate response. I’m talking within 5 minutes I had an email back. My order was already prepared for shipment! Very impressed about how quick that was. It gets better – because I couldn’t switch out flavours I was offered a sample of the flavour I wanted to switch with to be included with my order. This is some seriously amazing customer service. I can’t wait to gobble up my matchas so I can order more! Red Leaf Tea you are amazing.

This smells like soft cookies my mom made when I lived home :) Like both summer and Christmas. Don’t ask me how or why but that’s what I’m reminded of when I smell it.

Oh darn. Bit too much of the lemongrass for me. I was really hoping I’d fall in love with this one. The smell is amazing. I can maybe get a hint of cinnamon, but nothing in the way of pineapple or coconut.

Update: As this cools (while I enjoyed my seriously delicious pumpkin pie matcha smoothie) the cinnamon is coming out more. Perhaps there’s hope for this one after all!

drank Goji Pop by DAVIDsTEA

This one has a buttery, fruity smell dry. It wasn’t on my list but perhaps I will like it. Just steeping away.

Come onnnnn. Cool already!

This one’s lightly fruity with a hint of spiciness at the end of the sip. Is that the goji berries? I think I may try to steep it longer next time for a bit more flavour, seems like it could be a bit more flavourful. But definitely good.

Another unflavoured oolong to measure up against my Tung Ting Vietnam. Since oolong is actually from China and not Vietnam I decided I had to try this one out (and Quangzhou Milk oolong the other day).

Pretty good I must say, but I’m getting a more floral taste. Overall a great tea, but I prefer the Tung Ting Vietnam.

Puffed rice. I kind of like the smell in a bizarre sort of way.

I can’t stop drinking it, yet I’m not really sure what it is I like about drinking it.

Update: Also great resteeped! This one gets the upgrade. But I still couldn’t tell you exactly why. Now back to PLL!

Update #2: 4th resteep, still going strong.

Well 5 steeps, that was my entire tea story for this evening. Impressive. Time to turn in.

drank Caramel Matcha by Red Leaf Tea

Dude. This is freaking amazing. I couldn’t decide what to do with this for the longest time. It just sat in my cupboard because I didn’t want to risk wasting it attempting to use it. Today I threw it in a smoothie suggested to me by Sil :) AWESOME. Seriously. It’s amazing. Perfection. I could go on.

Thanks a million Will Work For Tea!

Update: Just ordered the 3+1 deal from Red Leaf Tea!

drank Forever Nuts by DAVIDsTEA

I went to Davids today to refill my Tung Ting Vietnam tin. And left with 7 new teas. Whoops. One of those teas being Forever Nuts, which the girl cajoled me into trying, despite my hatred of nuts. She even went so far as to say she thinks it will be added to my permanent collection. It actually smells quite good haha. Like an apple cinnamon pastry.

Yum, yum. Guess I’ll be eating my words. I may not like to eat nuts but I’m enjoying drinking them. Added bonus – my entire kitchen smells like I’ve been baking delicious pastries :)

Update: The cooler it gets, the more the nutty taste comes out. But surprisingly it’s not ruining the tea for me. And perhaps I’m turning round on cinnamon in this one as well since the Stormy Night disaster.

I love the scent of vanilla coming off this one! Smells so comforting. I can taste the vanilla too. Really well done and not overwhelming. Anything that diminishes the bergamot is awesome for me. I’m slowly finding more and more variations of Earl Grey to enjoy.

This one is smooth. I think I’ll be keeping it around.

Bio

A few of my favourite things: animals, the ocean, science (I’m currently doing my MSc in biology), travel, all things summer, and of course – tea!

I love chatting biology, so feel free to ask me about what I study or follow my instagram @biologistcourtney!

I love black teas and this is what I’m usually drinking. I pretty well always drink my tea without anything added.

I’m also fond of herbals, oolongs, and subtly flavoured greens. Whites are also enjoyable, and I’m always looking for a replacement for my all-time favourite Butiki’s White Rhino.

Pu’erhs, rooibos (specifically red, I’m more open to green), honeybush, and matés are not my favourite. I tend to avoid them altogether unless others find them so amazing they shouldn’t be missed.

Likes:
Creaminess, toffee, cacao (true dark chocolate flavour), coconut (true coconut flavour), and rhubarb. I’m open to flavoured teas but they can’t be cloying or fake/candy like.

Dislikes:
Any smokiness at all, bergamot, flowers (rose and jasmine), hibiscus is hit and miss.
