1789 Tasting Notes
I drank this first thing in the morning, and I’m enjoying the resteep of it now. It’s just so good. I’m tasting honeyed notes, and juicy fruits, and this tea is just so smooth and easy to drink. Even AFTER I sorta oversteeped this round by double what it should have been!
I worry sometimes about rating a tea to make sure that I know which ones to buy but really that’s a little dumb. I think anything I rate over 85 is guaranteed to make me happy and if I chose this tea over another TTC tea in an eventual order, it doesn’t mean I made the wrong choice. Not when they are ALL good choices. So, I’m just going to chill and focus on that.
Sipdown! (206)
I steeped this twice today and rather enjoyed it but now that it’s gone I can’t remember what it was that made it so good.
Guess I’ll just have to buy more?
I want to try this one, but it is so expensive! I am still contemplating adding it into my order though.
Woo! My verdant order arrived and I HAD to have a cup of this.
Actually – literally. It wouldn’t fit in the tin I wanted it in so I had to have a cup to make it work. Not that I minded. Not at all.
Yay your Verdant order came!!! (Mine is at the Stoney Creek Airpot?!? Where the hell is Stoney Creek? – estimated delivery 22Jul – UGG)
Thank you Sil for sharing this one with me!
I’m really enjoying this as I sit in the office, blasiting this Angry Females playlist from 8tracks: http://8tracks.com/lifeofshi/angry-females-pump-up BOOM! Get stuff done!
So this tea is not roasty like I would have expected from ‘baked’ in the description. It’s green and fresh. Grassy? Also a little sweet. Yay! Thank you!

Sipdown! (209!)
And I just realized that these numbers show what my cupboard will be WITH my verdant order so that’s actually better than I thought! I might hit 200 this week! :D
I might miss this one but I’m not in a rush to pick it up. Glad I had it but I have lupicia’s Honeydew tea now!
Yay. I managed another actual sipdown today – 212!
I tried this because Sil was interested in it and it made more sense to buy a ton of things and split them and try all the teas, then to try and decide WHICH Butiki teas to get. :P
It tastes very earthy, like a Puerh, like you would expect. I’m also getting Smoke and wood. Hmmmm. Interesting.
BACKLOG: (because I totally let Sil down by not reviewing this tea when she loved it and gave me the LAST CUP of it)
What a bad tea fren. :P
I remember I liked the pumpkin flavouring from it, but the rooibosness of it bothered me a little. I think I just don’t do rooibos well in the summer but come fall and I would probably be ALL OVER IT. I will have to keep an eye out for it!
Thanks Sil!
(I just going to keep being annoying and comment every time I see something about this tea – I would LOVE to get some of this if/when it’s reblended this fall. Please, thank you)
Thank you – will negotiate buying some when the time comes (there’s no need for any "payback) – Why is your package “out for delivery” but yet -"Item arrived at postal facility. Item on hold. " Canada Post drives me nuts….
As I was telling Sil earlier, I spoke with the gal who makes this the other day. All the pumpkins were grown locally last year, & I told her we would want a lot of it, even if I had to roast the pumpkins myself :)
Sipdown (209!)
So I think i was afraid of steeping this because it requires slightly more effort than steeping at boiling water, as this sample has sat around for months! Sorry VariaTEA! :O
But there was nothing to be afraid of and this tea is nice and fruity and slightly sweet and very nice on a cool summer day like today. So thank you- I’m happy I got to try it!
This tea wins for best chocolate orange tea.
That is all.
I never liked Three Friends? It was always a little bitter and flat – I like my friends a bit sweeter I guess? :P But I can save you a cup!
