1789 Tasting Notes
I’m getting lower on this one, but I’m still really enjoying it. I want to place an Adagio order eventually so I"m working on sipping a few of these ones down so I can make room. Maybe 8 more cups of this to go? Easy!
You really have to over leaf it and steep it at 175 for it to work!
I finally opened my bag of this, now that summer is nearly over and I’ve wasted my best nights with it.
But it’s great. So great. Now that I’m drinking it, I’ll try to enjoy it as much as I can before the snow falls because I’m sure I won’t be in the mood for it later.
Also, why is this one SO amazing, when the grape one just falls a little flat? It smells OMG so freakin’ good, but tastes bitter and uninteresting.

Yes. I’m making excruciatingly slow progress on my sipdowns! I think most of my 1-2 cup samples are decaf so they end up sitting for a long time…
Anyway, I think this was one of the best Night Vale teas, but I’m not sure I could drink 3 oz of it. Maybe another 1 oz tin would be ok, but it just a decent tea and nothing spectacular.
(145) I found this buried in my flavoured tea bin last night, as I was tidying, and stuffed it in my purse to finish off today. It’s so good, and doesn’t deserve to waste away forgotten in the bottom of a bin.
It’s one of the few non-black teas that I consistently enjoy. That’s really saying something! And it’s so freaking hot/muggy/awful outside right now that a lighter tea like this seems preferable to my typical black.
This was weird, and I didn’t care for it. I couldn’t figure it out at the time, but I guess it was the orange zest that threw it off? That or the cinnamon itself. Either way, even with milk I couldn’t finish it. Sorry! VariaTea!

Thanks 221Tea! for the generous Yunnan Sourcing samples. I’ve sat on them for a month or so because I need the right day to drink them – to make sure I could resteep it and enjoy it properly.
Today was that day. It was EXCELLENT. Warm, golden, bready, with a nice thick mouth-feel, and a flavour that goes strong after 4+ steepings! Fancy!
The episode of SPN that I was watching earlier featured Mjolnir, and it was even wielded by Sam, with the long flowy hair.
So, this tea was an obvious choice afterwards.
