652 Tasting Notes
This is a very old sample sent from Shmiracles back in the day before I got pregnant and stopped drinking tea for a year or so.
Not sure what makes this one different, but I didn’t like it quite as much as the original Coconut oolong from Davidstea (before they brought it back with the unnecessary addition of lemongrass).
This one seemed a bit more floral. I used 85 degree water and steeped for three minutes. Maybe two minutes would be less oolongy.
Either way, decent! I think I will cold brew the rest :)
A long overdue thanks to Shmiracles for the sample!
Cold brewed this one for like 24 hours. That seems to work out for me because I very likely always end up underleafing. I cold brew in a 1L pitcher and if I used enough leaf to make it as flavourful as I wanted, I’d go through all my cold brew teas way too fast.
So I leave it in the fridge for a day or so.
This one… There’s something weird about this one. I did get a creamy sort of mango tea. But either the cinnamon, banana or chamomile is rubbing me the wrong way. I couldn’t put my finger on it when I was drinking it because I hadn’t read the description/ingredients yet.
I will try again later to see what exactly my issue is!
Another sample from Cavocorax!
I tried this last night at like 11:30, obviously needed something caffeine free.
The smell was a bit off putting, because it smelled like some kind of orange flavoured cough syrup I remember from when I was a kid. I have to wonder if orange flavoured cough syrup even exists anymore!
The taste was pretty good, though not super creamy, just orangey.
But something about the tea made my throat scratch, not a sensation I’m used to because I have no food allergies, so it was unpleasant enough to make me dump the cup. I will have to give the rest to my friend to try.
Thanks for the sample, Cavo!
Sample sipdown from Cavocorax! Pretty much everything I’ve been drinking lately came from her or OMGsrsly. Soooo many teas to try, but I’m almost through!
This one I ended up ordering as part of my A&D holy trinity order when they had free shipping to Canada for Canada Day. Too sweet to pass up!
I wouldn’t have ordered this one on its own but for $8 extra, I do love me a goods strong EG. I did like the Steven Smith EG better if memory serves.
I am so lucky Cavo sent the samples along for me to try. Yay tea frens!
A sample from MissB!
I had tried this at some point before, I actually possessed a quantity, but I wasn’t really enamoured. In fact I was disappointed.
I seemed to enjoy it more this time around, a light toffee flavor. I think my tastebuds have been honed a bit so I no longer like fakely extreme flavoured teas, and I can appreciate the more subtle ones.
I don’t think I got much taste out of this the first time, but round two was pretty good. I wouldn’t purchase it but it was a nice treat.
Thanks MissB!
Wow. I didn’t expect much from this for whatever reason, but it ended up surprising me as being one of the most delicious and realistic tasting blueberry black teas I’ve ever tried.
The fact that it’s from a Nova Scotian tea company is a major plus because though I’ve been in NB for 19 years now, I spent 8 important years of my childhood in NS and still have relatives there, so it will always feel like home to me.
My friend sent me this sample but I’d consider buying some one day!
I drank a bunch of tea lately and didn’t log it, so now I’ve got some half assed catching up to do.
I actually enjoyed this one! Yeah it tasted like a typical Adagio black tea, but the flavours worked for me. I didn’t even mind the chai, though I still feel like Adagio’s chai is overused in these blends. Possibly because I don’t LOVE chai.
But yeah, a decent chocolatey tea! I still have enough for a cup left, thanks to Cavocorax! :)
This is actually one of the fandom samplers than I’m really interested in trying. I’m glad Garrus is at least somewhat tasty, considering he’s the best. :P

“unnecessary addition of lemongrass”: totally agree! WHY?? To me, that’s the reason I do not like DT’s Coconut Oolong AT ALL
