Jasmine, base tea doesn’t contribute much flavor, not astringent, thick mouthfeel. This tea is all about the jasmine.

Smell honey alcohol.
190F, 2tsp, 6oz. Steeped 4, 8, and 11 min. Best steep was at 8 min. Honey, earthy, sweet, alcohol. Thick mouthfeel. Seemed better at lower temperature.

I also didn’t add any milk. There might have been some residual milkfat present in the cup. I liked this one. I didn’t get astringency.

Sipdown. 200F, 2tsp, 6oz. Adding milk brings out the best of this tea.

Sipdown. I was disappointed by this tea. It didn’t have staying power. Often the steep was uneven. I didn’t like the base of this blend. Overall not a repurchase and I will drop my rating down. 70

Sipdown – but only because I discarded the rest of the tea. I could not bring myself to brew this again. The artificial flavor just put me off. It smelled of big chew grape bubblegum. It went in the compost.

I did make a cold brew of this, but I never managed to finish it. Dropping my rating.

This review is for Numi’s Chocolate Rooibos. Free sample. 7min, 8oz, 210F.
Chocolatey, non-woody rooibos. Just okay. I’d rather have black tea with chocolate notes than this.

Green tea, strawberry and rhubarb.
Smells very berry, rhubarb, strawberry. Slightly broken leaf. Sachet. 16oz, 2min, 175F

Thick mouthfeel, strawberry flavor. I’ve lost the rhubarb. Flavor is not strong, though present. It’s okay. Can’t say I’d seek this out. Thanks for the sample! It was nice to try.

210F 150ml gaiwan, 5g-ish
20s-honey, clover, smooth. 30s-honey, malt, smooth. Tea reminds me of when we used to go eat those purple flowers (clover blossoms) in the field. Juicy. I ended up getting 8 steeps from this tea.
Very good, but similar to some other teas I’ve had. I don’t think this will be a restock for me. 80

Interesting! Never had a clover blossom before.

Wow, great description. I used to eat clover flowers as a kid all the time, and I can see the connection.

Bio

I started my tea journey with Stash/Celestial Seasonings tea bags years ago. All loose leaf, unless I’m sick or traveling.

I like black, oolong, white, herbals, and raw/ripe pu’erh. I don’t drink green tea often.

I play video games, read, and do pottery. My current favorite tea mug is one I threw and glazed.

I generally review teas twice – initial and final steeps.

My cupboard is mostly up to date.
