85 Tasting Notes
After my disappointment with the Electric Lemonade, I was a little hesitant on my expectations for the Sour Appletini. But I was pleasantly surprised with it. Would I buy it again? Maybe not, at this point I am still a little on the fence.
Dry the leaves have a tangy sour aroma which made my mouth tingle (in a good way). It brews a lovely rose colour and produces a sour apple aroma. Taste wise, I pick up more of a tangy sour flavour with no distinct flavour tones of apples or other items that one would expect. Eventually the sour flavour disappeared and felt like I was drinking more of rose coloured water.
Hopefully my next brew will produce more flavours.
Flavors: Apple, Sour, Sweet, Tangy

I was really looking forward to trying this tea. I made a large pitcher to enjoy with my family. Sadly I am disappointed with this tea.
Dried the sour, tangy, strawberry aroma was mouth watering wonderful. It brewed a cloudy yellowish and then went to a pale redish brown colour. The aroma brewed was strawberry, fruity, and sweet and I could not wait to drink it. This is where it all fell apart. The taste was a weird artificial floral taste, nothing like I expected from the aroma and the description.
After several attempts to try this, I just could not finish a single cup. On the upside, my oldest likes this and will take it away with her to College.
Flavors: Artificial, Floral

Back in December I bought the “Your Daily Resolution A Tea a Day” variety pack of about 12 different teas. I had given this to my oldest as a Christmas present to go along with her Japanese tea set. Fast forward to today, that set of teas remained unopened until I took over.
I choose try the Organic Serenity Now in a hot brew (just noticed on the website for DavidsTea that it suggests trying it iced). Dried the aroma reminds me of the lavender field outside my grandma’s house, mixed with apples and spearmint. It brews a lovely rose colour. The aroma brewed is strong on the spearmint mixed with a woodsy scent. Taste wise, it is a mouth watering spearmint flavour that was relaxing while I enjoyed my breakfast and rewatch of Glee (a guilty pleasure that I enjoy).
Resolution with the tea – sip back and relax. I am totally doing that with this tea today!
Flavors: Apple, Floral, Smooth, Spearmint
To be fair to this tea, I am not going to rate it until I have another cup since I always believe that the first impressions may not be the correct impressions of something. I have come to love many books that started off horrible and I pushed through to the end. Tea is like this for me, I form my view on the second and sometimes the third cup.
I do love the smell of this tea dried and brewed. It has a dark chocolate aroma dried that accentuated with a toffee aroma when brewed. I found it interesting that the leaf sunk to the bottom of my infuser as it steeped where other teas float with some settling on the bottom. The colour of the tea is impressive as it reminds of chocolate toffee with that think dark chocolate look. I did not find this tea sweet, but rather bitter with burnt undertones, and a hint of dark chocolate and toffee.
Flavors: Bitter, Burnt, Dark Chocolate, Toffee, Wood
Preparation
I bought this through one of my purchases online, it was recommended to me at the store during a recent visit and at the time never gave it much thought. It arrived the other day and I carefully tucked it away in my cupboard until I was ready to try it.
After a rather busy morning of running around, I came home and without really thinking pulled this out of the cupboard and prepared my cup of tea to enjoy with some much needed feet up time and Pretty Little Liars with my oldest.
Dry the leaves remind me of a burnt earthy aroma, not really my sort of thing (dirt really turns me off and the smell of burnt items sorta makes me ill). It brews a muted redish brown colour that when held up to the light is rather pretty. The steeped aroma reminds me of toasted nuts and again the earthy grass smell. Taste wise, it was smooth with a bit of bitterness and an odd feeling of dry mouth. Near the end of my cup I started picking up on a few hints of caramel.
I will try this tea again, allowing it steep a little longer than I normally like. I may even figure out how to make tea latte as the website suggests.
Flavors: Bitter, Burnt, Earth, Smooth, Sugar
Preparation
I made a large pitcher of this tea yesterday morning and let it sit in the fridge until I was ready to have a drink. Dried this tea as a very floral aroma which I was expected from the hibiscus. It brews a thrilling red colour (like most of the teas that adorn my cupboard currently).
I had a very interesting experience with tea though. The first two cups I did not get much of a flavour from, I felt like I was drinking more water than anything. My oldest poured herself a nice sized glass filled it with more ice and made her way to work for the night and told me it reminded her of gummy bears.
This afternoon I finished off the last cup full and my mouth came alive with flavours. It was a mix of sweet and fruity and I became a happy camper with this tea. I learned that it needs to steep a little longer than I do normally with my iced teas.
Flavors: Candy, Dried Fruit, Sweet
Preparation
I cannot keep this around long enough and sadly yesterday we used up the last of it in an iced tea. My family loves it!
Dried it is the most delightful citrus smell. My children are confused by the pale red colour it brews and how it tastes like oranges (my son believes this is because it is like the blood oranges he likes to eat). It tastes just like a glass of orange juice, it is amazing!
Flavors: Orange, Sweet
Preparation
I don’t know how I feel about this tea currently. I made this into an iced tea and have had several cups of the tea today.
In the tin, I see large clumps of rhubarb which thrilled me because I love to eat rhubarb raw (just thinking of the tart flavour makes my mouth water – even while I write this). Brewing it is a delightful deep red colour and smells rich. But… and this is where I become conflicted… the tea brewed sweet, smooth, with a hint of strawberry cream flavour. I did not get any of the typical flavours I would expect in strawberry rhubarb combination, instead I felt more like I was sipping on creamy strawberry ice cream.
I cannot give this a rating or a recommendation for others to try. I will try a hot brew and another ice tea brew and see if I get different results.
Flavors: Cream, Smooth, Strawberry, Sweet
Preparation
I totally know what you mean by that specific mouth-watering feeling that tart foods trigger. I hope you can get more rhubarb out of this! I luckily can but yeah, it’s not as strong as what one would think.
Drank the last of this, this morning with toast…
I brewed it hot as there wasn’t much to make it an iced tea. I enjoyed it hot as well. It the perfect amount of melon flavour and sweetness. The colour is a very light pale yellow which reminds me of honey dew melon juice.
Flavors: Green Melons, Sweet
