Yum! Genmaicha goes extremely well with the maple. Apple is pretty mild, and is more of an afterthought. But, the toasty popped rice and maple create a pancake experience that just works. Enjoying it with a Trader Joe’s pumpkin empanada, and it’s quite the tasty breakfast.

I brewed this right away when it first came in my subscription, and really didn’t care for it. I found it tasted like sticks and slightly of cinnamon. I was almost going to give it away, but decided to try again with the remaining bit I had left. What a difference a month makes! It’s a lovely soft cinnamon, with tasty caramel notes. Very sad it’s actually sold out now. I’m actually finding that many 52Teas blends benefit from a rest of a month or more. I always get so excited when my subscription comes in, but the flavors definitely need time to develop.
This smells like a melted red hot. But, the cinnamon is much more mild than I would’ve thought. A bit of woodiness. Overall, the flavors are a bit too muted. Pretty average.
It’s my day off and I’ve been drinking a ton of tea. I’ve been working, but in a reduced capacity up until yesterday. We’ve just gone back to regular operations and I’m feeling very ‘meh’ about having to interact with so many people everyday again. I’ve been looking for another job for about 9 months, and it is so insanely difficult. The amount of effort I’ve put in has been exhausting, on top of the confusion and sadness I’m sure everyone is feeling as a result of the pandemic. I’m also taking an HR Management class right now, and had my midterm yesterday (got a 96% woot!), but that’s another layer of stress. So much stress lately, I’m glad I have my tea.
