Got this as a sample from Teajo Teas, thank you very much!!
Drank it for breakfast this morning.

I LOVE Earl Grey. If I have to go somewhere without tea (unlikely) I will seek out Earl Grey at a gas station or whatever. It’s comforting and flavorful and adding milk just makes it more creamy and delicious.

That’s what I did with this one – I added milk. I did two steeps of it and both were good. About 3 min for the first one.

It’s definitely more of the lemony type, but the citrus flavor doesn’t overwhelm the tea, which I appreciate. I don’t like SUPER lemony teas unless they are balanced off by some cookie or pie taste (Lemon Chiffon!).

So I enjoyed this, it was creamy with the milk, so the word “Silky” is not misused here. I would definitely order it!

Ok, so this is pretty tasty. Reminds me of Davidstea Cookie Dough a bit, but less fussy. I was surprised at the decent sized leaves, and it actually tasted like white chocolate! For reals! I am becoming acquainted with Della Terra’s simpler offerings lately (such as this, Dubbele Chocolade, Cafe Vanilla) and am loving them. No need to get all fancy when your flavoring is this tasty and well balanced! That’s what I like about Della Terra. They deliver. There’s nothing worse in my book than calling something “Chocolate Marshmallow Tea” (just made that up) and leaving me smacking my mouth together obnoxiously trying desperately to taste the chocolate or the marshmallow. That never happens with Della Terra, they promise flavour, and they deliver. I wish they would just open up a real live store in my little Canadian city so I could get a job there and drink free tea all day. Totally would.

Sorry, tangent. So anyway, this is tasty, simple but effective. I might prefer it over the fussiness of Davidstea’s Cookie Dough. I’ll probably order some. Thank you Alysha for letting me try this one!

I enjoyed this one. It was light and fresh, mild tasting but very obviously coconutty.
I admit I don’t know what white tea really tastes like because I’ve never had it straight up, but it seems like a good base for this blend.

I’ve never heard of this company before so I’m glad I got the chance to try this tea, might just order some one day!

My temperature was all screwed up because I’m at work and I thought the kettle was almost boiled (I was trying to guesstimate 82 degrees) but turns out it wasn’t plugged in properly so it was more like 49 degrees, haha. I added more almost boiling hot water to it in an attempt to compensate but I do have enough left for a properly brewed cup at home so I will do that!

edit I wanted to buy this so bad but they charge $28 to ship one oz of tea to Canada :(

I wanted to love it because I’m a big fan of Davidstea Blueberry Jam, so I thought some kind of baked good notes would only add to my happiness with a blueberry tea.

Admission – I have no idea what zabaglione is, (SOME zabaglione? A zabaglione??) so maybe I don’t know what to look for in the notes of this blend, but I’m really only getting blueberry with a hint of something sweet in the background. Is it a decent blueberry tea? Sure! But it doesn’t really taste like cake or pastry or anything else that I imagine zabaglione must be.

I’d love to try the Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish one, that might be more my speed.

This was perfectly pleasant, but not mindblowing.
So far, Della Terra is the king of flavoured teas which all others need to bow down before!

I’m going to have to try this again. I ate a few pieces of chocolate and then drank it, and then went back to it hoping the chocolate aftertaste would have subsided, but I wasn’t nearly as enamoured with this as everyone else. Actually, I haven’t been enamoured with any 52 Teas blend so far. I have a theory that maybe packaging, presentation and promotion (and reputation) do a lot to affect someone’s rating of a tea, even inadvertently. If this was called ‘Coconut Garbage Flakes’, and blended by a mean jerk instead of a cool everyman’s nerd kind of guy, maybe everyone else would feel the same about it as I do. Not that it tastes like garbage, I was just giving an example of crappy marketing. Don’t get me wrong, it’s alright, but I notice a weird chemical taste to it, in the back of my mouth. And when I stick my nose in my cup and inhale, it smells like cat pee.

Sorry guys, I said it. I’ve wanted to love every one of Frank’s teas that I’ve tried (via swap) but I’ve been disappointed so far. Marshmallw Treat Genmaicha was good in the end, after I compared it to a straight genmaicha. But still left something to be desired.

After drinking Davidstea’s Coconut Oolong, I’m on the hunt for an equally amazing black coconut tea, and I don’t think this is it.

That being said it is possible that the chocolate seriously ruined my taste so I will try again before rating this, because I don’t want to be unfair. And I don’t want any hate mail either!! I will happily eat my words if I’m way off here, because I wanted to love this!

Yeah… no. Tried it again last night, hoping for the best and it’s just…yucky. That sums it up. Still smells like cat pee once brewed. No coconut taste that I can notice. I feel like there’s something wrong with me because everyone seems to love every 52Teas blend ever, except me. I dumped the rest of this out, because you know why? Because my newest DellaTerra order arrived yesterday – NO BRAINER. I would love to find a 52teas blend to love. Le Sigh.

I want to add that there’s a possibility the batch I tried may not have been fresh and possibly even starting to change tastes on account of age, so the tea company shouldn’t be blamed for that. However I have no way of knowing so my rating stands. If I ever try this again from someone else I will let you know if it tasted better!

Drank this again, it’s growing on me! It’s a subtle caramel taste but the tea base is pretty nice so I do appreciate what they did here. I am starting to enjoy the fact that it’s not overwhelmingly sweet, so I could drink it alongside actual dessert without having a sugar coma.

Maaaayybe I will just have to bump my rating up!

I’m almost done Season 2 (decided to watch this because everyone seems to be nuts over it) and trying to decide if I should continue along with S3 immediately or watch every season of Buffy over again instead. (Diehard, lifelong Buffy fan)

I had been excited to try it, pie and coconut are two of my favorite things ever so that in a tea sounded great.

I’m always wary of rooibos because I don’t love it. I love some rooibos teas but only the ones that are self aware enough to know that they are much better off hanging out in the background…not the over confident ones that think they could carry a tea.

(Some I love – all of Della Terra’s lemon/lime ones, their Blueberry Creme, and Davidstea Alpine Punch)

This is one of those cocky rooibos, it takes over. I knew the second I smelled it that this would be the case, because all I smell is rooibos. Stacy’s flavored teas are quite subtle and so far from what I’ve tried that worked out, but in this case the flavor is lost underneath the rooibos. For me, that’s bad, because I’m not a rooibos fan.

I can say that it was pretty damn creamy though. I just would have preferred it as a black or maybe with the Frost Oolong!

Glad I got try it anyway, now I can officially scratch it off the list.

Yum, this one was good. I seem to like Della Terra’s simpler flavored teas (this one, Cafe Vanilla) just as much as their crazier dessert blends (Pineapple Upside Down Cake)…. Maybe more!

This is similar to The Malt Shop but minus the extreme malt flavor, which was a bit overwhelming for me. This one is pure delicious chocolatey goodness! Thank you to Alysha for the swap, I might just have to grab an ounce or two of this the next time I order from Della Terra!

It’s mildly creamy but very chocolatey. It sort of reminded me of Davidstea’s Chocolate Cake so I will have to compare the two side by side. Obviously there are no sprinkles or anything with this one.

Thanks to Sil for a sample of this rare tea! I wanted to truly take the time to try and appreciate its nuances, so I thought Sunday morning seemed like a good time.

I don’t have much to compare this to, since I’m still living in Flavour Town, but I think I liked it more than Laoshan Black. It was a bit more mild (that being said I steeped it three times in a small cup with only a heaping tsp of tea – trying to make it last so it wasn’t brewed very strong).

It was earthy but less so than Laoshan Black. I can see why it’s impressive.

I tried reaaal hard to get an idea of this whole “mouthfeel” thing that people with more teaxpertise (tea expertise) than myself have commented on, but I’m still at the “It’s hot liquid, and in my mouth it feels like hot liquid” phase. It did seem to be pretty smooth though. Didn’t seem to dry my mouth out as much as others.

It brewed up a light yellow color, probably would have been darker if I’d used more tea.

Smelled pleasant, only a bit earthy, slightly sweet. Definitely not noticing notes of baked goods as others have commented. But I doubt I’m ever likely to pull dessert notes out of a straight tea.

I drank it with no additives, maybe with some sugar it would become more flavorful. Seems a shame to do that though, as it’s so nice on its own.

I think I would actually attempt to buy this one. It was different, and not being one for straight black tea, I liked that this did have some unique flavour to it, even if I’m not able to describe exactly what that flavour may be!

Drinking this one now! My friend had placed a H&S order after I did so I got her to stick this on her list for me and paid her back. Just got it, YUM!

I am a HUGE fan of their ‘Paris’ tea, and this is a damn close second. Very fruity and the honey flavor is super obvious. I got the tin as pictured above, which is lovely to look at, but sachets, which doesn’t really bother me. Quick and easy!

I think Paris still maintains first place on account of the vanilla (LOVE vanilla everything), but this is really good. (Technically Vanilla Comoro would be second place, and so this would have to be third… one day I will try the Vanilla Black though)

I think I remember that someone said something about fruit cake in an earlier review… I’ve never been a fruit cake person and this isn’t cakey at all, but it’s really good. It’s got the bergamot in it, since I love Earl Greys I’ve got no beef with that! I am really enjoying this thickbodied, rich and fruity tea.

Oh, as an aside. Today I learned that the pronounciation of ‘BERGAMOT’ is way different than I’ve been saying it in my head. I’ve never actually said it out loud. Since I live in a bilingual province, to me, it’s always “Berg-a-mo”, but the girl at Davidstea earlier today pronounced it “berg-a-moTT”. I didn’t like that at all. It does not sound as fancy as how I always said it in my head. Anyway now I’m glad I’ve never had to say it out loud before. Sure beats looking silly ‘WHEW, close call!’

I just confirmed this on Dictionary.com….it definitely sounded lovelier my way. Now I have to re-teach myself how to say it! UGH!

Really though, when would anyone have ever said that word out loud in my presence before? That would have been nice. Thanks girl at Davidstea for saving me from a serious faux-pas.
