Day 9 of the advent calendar. I’ve never had a tea with this flavour before. I rather enjoyed the predominant toasted popped rice flavour. That’s really the star of this tea with the flavour of the green tea itself bringing up the rear. This tea was comforting, like a warm blanket on a cold day. Being a fan of most green teas, I’ll happily add this to my rotation.

Day 8 of the advent calendar. Very coconutty and minty with a touch of fruitiness. When I was buying this tea a salesperson at David’s Tea told me that he didn’t like this tea because the taste reminded him of toothpaste. He recommended “Mint to Be” instead. I decided to try this one anyway since everyone has different tastes. I’m happy to say that it doesn’t remind me of toothpaste and that I liked it!

An old favourite of mine. What could be better than peppermint and vanilla mingling together in green tea? For me, nothing! I’ve enjoyed many mugs of this in the past. Served it to many friends who went crazy over it. As far as grocery store bought teas go, this one is the leader of the pack. So hard to find though. Not one grocery store in my town sells it anymore. Not sure if it’s been discontinued or just in limited distribution but if I stumble upon it somewhere I’ll be sure to pick up a couple of boxes. Love sipping away at this one during Christmas time. Makes me feel festive!

I like it too :)

Since discovering loose leaf tea, I know there are other teas out there that will likely beat this one but this tea was the first flavoured tea that I ever really loved so I will always like it for that reason…..memories!

Day 7 of the advent calendar. I’ve never met a breakfast tea that I didn’t like. Made a mug full of this with a little agave nectar and milk. Yum! Thoroughly enjoyed it. Another tea that I could drink every day. Has a toasty flavour with no bitterness. I find all breakfast teas, regardless of what brand, pretty much taste the same so even though this tea didn’t stand out as being anything out of the ordinary, it was a winner for me in it’s familiarity.

Day 6 of “24 Days of Tea.” The best chai tea I’ve had so far. Not being a fan of chai, I’m always nervous when tasting a chai tea for the first time as I always have a preconceived notion that I’m not going to like it. This is one that I do actually like. The chai flavour is mild and not very heavy on the spices which is right up my alley. I find the coconut, cloves, cinnamon flavour to be quite pleasing to my palate. I drank mine with a little milk added to make it a touch creamier. This tea is a nice treat. It’s perfect to warm up with on a cold night!

Day 5 of the advent calendar. I enjoyed this tea. It surprised me. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did. Has a mild herb flavour. I am not a fan of ginger and thankfully it’s very understated in this tea. I could easily drink this tea every day. It goes down easy. Good stuff!

Day 4 of the advent calendar. This tea steeps a nice, deep, wine red colour. I added some agave nectar thinking that it would help to balance out the tartness of the hibiscus. It did help a little but it’s still pretty tart. I feel like this one might actually be better iced. It’s not bad though. Very straightforward tangy citrus fruit tea with added tartness from the hibiscus and a touch of pepper flavour from the lemongrass. I like the citrus flavours here. I find the grapefruit, lemon zest and orange zest mingle well together. Typically, the hibiscus is tart but it’s okay here with the sour, tangy fruits. The lemongrass tastes too peppery to me and I’m not crazy about it. It’s not completely offensive, just doesn’t seem to be mixing with the other flavours very well. I usually like lemongrass in tea but I think this would have been better with the lemongrass left completely out of it. If it was just the citrus fruits and hibiscus I would have rated it higher.

Flavors: Grapefruit, Hibiscus, Lemon Zest, Lemongrass, Orange Zest, Tart

Day 3 of “24 Days of Tea.” I liked this one. It tasted very “green” to me but by the the third steep I got more of the buttery orchid flavour. I drink a lot of plain green and plain white tea and this one just reminds me of those for the most part. I honestly don’t find it to be anything special. It left my throat feeling a little dry. It’s good but not earth shattering.

Day 2 of David’s Tea advent calendar. Not a fan of this one I’m afraid. Maybe I’m biased because I don’t like chai but not only that, this one also has licorice in it and I really detest licorice in teas. I couldn’t taste much of the vanilla which was disappointing. I mostly got the chai flavour and licorice. This tea wasn’t disgusting, it just wasn’t for me. It was drinkable but I’d never buy it for myself. A fan of chai and licorice may feel differently about it.

I enjoyed this mint chocolate tea. The flavour of mint and chocolate is there and mingle nicely together. I found it a little medicinal tasting but not enough to bother me. I think the mint is to blame, being a little astringent. There is a woody undertone due to the nature of the rooibos but I can live with it. I like this tea regardless of its flaws.

I’ve loved tea since I was a kid. I used to think it was a treat to have an orange pekoe tea with cream and a lump of sugar. When I was little, it made me feel like a real grown-up! I still love tea and drink it every day. I love trying new teas and find my cupboard filled to the max with more teas than a person should have! I love sitting down and relaxing with a hot cup of tea!

I drink a lot of green tea. The teas I’ve drank up to this point have been relatively boring but that’s how I generally prefer my tea, very low key.

This past Fall my sister introduced me to David’s Tea. She’s been a big fan for quite awhile now and now I’m on the bandwagon with her! My tea cupboard just got a lot more exciting! Now that I’ve become acquainted with David’s, as of late I am also introducing myself to some other brands as well thanks to the reviews here on Steepster!

I’m so happy that I discovered this site (by accident) and can’t wait to start rating teas, writing tea notes and meeting all of the other members.

A little bit about me: My name is Jason, I have 2 cats and I work in the health care and retail fields.
