5272 Tasting Notes
I am waiting for this to cool a little so I can drink it and the wait is torture. It smells amazing!! It smells like a fresh baked pie with a flaky, buttery crust filled with delicious strawberry filling that is just sweet enough while not cloying thanks to the cinnamon.
Well, on first sip, this does not disappoint! It tastes just like it smells. I love the strawberry flavor in this – as expected, it has just the right amount of sweetness and the cinnamon compliments it beautifully. This actually tastes like a pie…an amazing pie!
Preparation
Thank you Courtney for sharing this with me! Unfortunately, I think I expected a bit more from this than what I am actually getting. Similarly to DAVIDs Birthday Cake, I find it is just a tad weak. It is by no means a bad cup of tea – it is actually quite enjoyable. It is delicate and sweet but not the cake in a cup I thought it would be. I am still very happy I got to try it so thank you Courtney.
Preparation
Okay so I am kind of in awe right now at just how much this actually tastes and smells like a fluffy, butter, maple syrup covered pancake. I thought people were exaggerating but it actually is just like having a pancake breakfast. Thank you JustJames for the sample! I also got some in the bestsellers sampler pack that arrived today so I am surrounded by Pancake Breakfast tea and I am not complaining.
Preparation
Thank you JustJames for sharing this with me. I definitely see why people have spoken so fondly of this. The coconut is the flavor I first noticed. However, as I continue to sip away I notice the other flavors too like the toffee and vanilla. Unfortunately, I realized I underleafed this (about 1.5 tsp in 12 oz.) so the flavors are not as prominent as I thought they were going to be but this is still so delicious! Thank you so much JustJames for sharing such an amazing blend.
Preparation
Courtney snuck this into our swap and I am SOOO glad she did. This is AMAZING! As my first taste of a Butiki tea, I am definitely not disappointed. This tea manages to be light while still having an amazing creaminess to it. And it actually tastes like cantaloupe. I can definitely see why people love this tea and love Butiki teas in general. If all the teas are even half this good I will be placing an order in no time. Thank you so much Courtney!!!
Preparation
This is the first real miss for me when it comes to my CaesarsTea haul. It was bound to happen sooner or later. This tea smelled amazing and since the others have all been good I was quite disappointed in this one. There is something almost bitter in this steep that I am just not enjoying. Perhaps changing the way it was steeped might help. If not, this will become the first CaesarsTea into my swap box.
Preparation
This one is not really for me. Like a lot of the other CaesarsTeas rooibos teas, the rooibos flavoring comes through. The chocolate also shines as well but the two, in my humble opinion, don’t marry as nicely as I would have hoped. I might play around with some of the steeping parameters because I think the tea has potential but as it is now I am not overjoyed. With that said, it is not horrible so I will probably make it through my 25 g but I doubt I will rebuy. Perhaps I can share if someone wants to try despite my glowing recommendation.
Preparation
I am not sure quite what to make of this tea. It is good but I am on the fence as to how good. I bought it because it came recommended by the saleswoman and when I smelled the dry leaf it was amazingly fruity for an oolong (which I never would have guessed with a named like Ye Pan Tsa). It is definitely interesting. I am getting a whole mixture of flavors. The scent of the steeped tea is subtly fruity but the first taste in the sip is a nice floral from the orchid. A bit of the fruitiness (perhaps mango?) comes in in the middle of the sip and the oolong shines through at the end. The aftertaste is a little bit nutty. All of this works together well enough. It is a bit of a flavor rollercoaster though. Luckily, I have a whole timolino full of this to wrap my head around while I write a paper for class.
I just tried this for the first time last week and loved it too! I actually had to reorder already because I drank so much and shared it with anyone who’d listen like some kind of crazed zealot, haha.
I can understand why. It is amazing! I will try out the rest of the bestsellers sampler pack and then probably reorder because the sample of this will surely not be enough.
I also tried the pancake breakfast tea and though I think it is great I also think it is more of a novelty tea that I need to really be in the mood for – this is a tea I would be happy to drink everyday!
yeah, that’s how i feel too! pancake breakfast was one of the first 52teas i ever tried, and it amazed me how much it felt like i’d just eaten a fluffy stack of pancakes complete with the mouthfeel that goes with that. but while powerfully accurate, it’s not a flavor for tea i want too often. but this one, well, last weekend it was freezing cold, the kind of weather that makes you hole up at night trying to stay warm and cozy and long for the sunnier things in life and it was a great remedy for that.
