5272 Tasting Notes
Having this as a latte yet again. It is not my favorite and that is why I don’t mind drinking it while my taste buds are off. Today I steeped it for about 10 minutes which brought out the banana flavor more. This tea is overly sweet but with my tasting off it is nice because it is mellowed. All in all, not a bad cup.
Preparation
So I was thinking about making a cup of tea and I ended up having a huge craving for this one. Then when I opened the bag and smelled the sweet scent of a delicious pistachio ice cream I got very excited to take my first sip. Alas, like all my teas as of late, this is bland. Soon, soon I will able to taste teas again…I hope.
Preparation
I was trying to decide on what tea to have today. Since I am still battling a cold, I thought it best to stay hydrated which meant no caffeinated teas. Plus, due to my lack of taste, I didn’t want to try something new. Furthermore, I wanted something I could make as a latte just so I could get my milk servings in. Then mewakeling posted about this tea and it wasn’t the most glowing review but it reminded me that I have some of this tea I have wanted to use up and I have wanted to try it as a latte. I only realized after draining the tea out of the steeper that I should have steeped this longer. Nonetheless, it is not horrible. I added about 1/3 cup of frothed milk. The tea is sweet (probably due to the dates) and the banana is also quite prominent. I am not getting bread but the nuts are also present in the cup. It isn’t my favourite but mixed with the milk it is creamy and not bad at all. I think I will be drinking what is left of this in latte form.
Preparation
Latte would probably make this a lot better! I wish it worked better for me, I love all the components individually, they just don’t work together for me!
Yeah. I had such high hopes for this tea but the execution was just not great. I find this oily without the milk so it is definitely better as a latte for that reason alone.
I hate when a tea sounds like it should be phenomenal and there is just nothing you can do to make it more than passable. It is just such a let down! And I hear you on the oily, it is a greasy tea on its own.
I can actually taste this one! Unfortunately I don’t like it nearly as much as my other teas. The smell of the tea is kinda off putting as it is more nutty than vanilla or cream. Tastewise, the nut is most prominent to me but there is a hint of vanilla. I added some milk to boost the creaminess. All in all, this cup is drinkable but not great and life is too short for wasting time with “drinkable but not great” teas so to the swap box with this.
I was packaging this up for a friend and it smelled so great that I decided to make myself a cup. I figured since I could smell it so clearly that I might be able to taste it. Unfortunately that is not the case. I pick up some vanilla in some sips and black tea in others but mostly I am not getting anything at all. I want to taste the teas so badly :( damn this cold!
I made this in my timolino and it is the first tea I have made in the timolino since I forgot it at home in Thornhill. Unfortunately, I believe the timolino tainted the flavor of this tea. This was never a problem before but when I opened it today it smelled off so I think it just needs a really good soak. Not much to say about the tea given I still can’t taste much :(
Preparation
So I haven’t been posting much lately because I am sick and can’t taste much of anything. As a result, I haven’t been drinking many teas as I don’t want to waste them (which is really upsetting as I now have a whole box of new tea samples to try from all my Black Friday orders). However, I figured Cold 911 was fitting given the circumstance and the mint and eucalyptus is helping a little so that is pleasant.

I am made I wasted this sample because even with my lack of taste, I swear I am picking up the coconut. Not to mention that when I smelled this in the office, it smelled absolutely amazing! Okay, there is definitely pineapple in there too. I just really wish I could taste this properly because I have a feeling that it is really good.
Thank you Sophie and Laurent for this sample!

Last night I realized there were a couple teas in my cupboard that should not have been there so I am no longer in the 200s (although that might change when I get home depending on whether my Della Terra order arrived).
Also, I maybe should not have made a cup of a new tea given I woke up with a cold and I am not entirely sure if my tasting is off or not. I know I cannot smell at all so hopefully that doesn’t throw off the taste. I find it funny that I wake up with a cold the day before I return to Montreal and the freezing cold but oh well.
Okay so I can’t taste anything :( I think I am picking up lemon but I really don’t know. I guess I wasted the sample of this tea. Damn.
