I went into the store to get some Coconut Grove for my Mom and of course I couldn’t resist the tea of the day. I got this iced to go. It was very watered down, so I don’t think I got the full effect. I got some sweet fruity taste which was vaguely pineapple, a floral not I could barely make out and something savory that I couldn’t identify. This might be worth having again, but steeped much stronger.

So there’s this semi-fancy Chinese restaurant that I like to go to on occasion for lunch. They have a great Jasmine black tea that they serve up both hot or cold. They’re starting to know me there so when I ordered hot tea with my meal today they brought me a teapot! They probably just saved themselves a few trips to the kitchen! :-)

Anyway, the tea is a lovely jasmine, not overly floral and just the the right amount of bitter. The black to base is smooth and rich.

I think Chinese restaurants should always bring you a teapot. That’s great service and it makes me happy!

Yes! I go out of my way sometimes to eat at restaurants that serve in a teapot!

I’ve become addicted to drinking this tea at work because it seems to love the temperature of the hot water from our water cooler. Also it’s forgiving of steep time, which is essential for me since I work at a front desk and am constantly bombarded with tasks to do immediately. I feel like this oolong is different tea every time I drink it because of the endless ways the sweet, savory, and creamy flavors combine.

Oh forgot to add this this morning. Made a nice strong cup of this to warm me up from the freezing cold bus ride. I have to be careful about this tea methinks. Too much vanilla does not agree with me. I swear it makes me a little hoarse.

I used the rest of my sample for an overnight cold-steep. I like it better this way than hot. It brings out the black base more and the two fruit flavors are more in balance with each other.

Of course the morning I have cold-steeped ice tea for my ride into work it’s chilly outside and freezing on the express bus and I don’t even want to drink it. It was 86 degrees yesterday. What happened? I’m enjoying about half of this now and I think I’ll save the other half for this afternoon. :-)

This tea is growing on me! Every time I drink it, I seem to catch onto another flavor. Today is tastes not only buttery, but like roasted greens. I’m glad I use less leaf and steep shorter. It really works out better.

Isn’t it exciting when that happens?

A very tannic tea, but no bitterness. The bergamot and saffron go a long way in smoothing it out. A pleasant and strong breakfast tea, but it does leave a slight dry aftertaste.

Whenever I drink this tea, I’m always struck by a of menthol sensation and I don’t know what would cause it. The flavor is more rooibos than blackberry. Earthy, almost clay-like rooibos. Defininitely an aquired taste, but it’s grown on me.

The name is exactly what it tastes like: Mango fruit punch. It’s a delicious fruit punch and would be great iced in the summer, but not more remarkable than that.

I love this tea! I am a potato fiend and when I can’t whip up some frsh mashed potatoes this will be my go-to tea. Creamy and sweet- can’t get better!

I run, I sing, I drink tea. That’s the best description I have of me.

I’ve always enjoyed tea, but have just started trying out a lot more loose teas and varied brands. I’m really excited about a site like steepster so I can read about what people think about different teas.

Oh and I really hate Lipton tea. There’s something just awful about it and I can’t understand why nearly every local diner only has Lipton.

Also I’m on the search for a full-bodied, fruity blackberry tea. So if you have any suggestions feel free to throw them my way! :-)
