I didn’t realize this was a black tea until I read the notes about it. I bought it so I could have something to drink with breakfast. I like it a lot. Even though it’s 3pm, I’m drinking some now. (Hey, I just had breakfast). It’s good.
Preparation
I was extremely lazy this morning and turned to my tea bags for my tea fix. This is good but I definitely still prefer irish breakfast blends to english breakfast blends. It reminded me alot of my moms traditional chai though, probably because I put milk in sugar in it. I like this and will finish the box but I think after that i’ll probably stick to irish blends.
Yep, I’m definitely getting sick. So what do I choose? This tea, of course. Lemon for the cough, and ginger for the chills. Worked wonders, and tasted pretty good in the process. The ginger gets a bit strong halfway through the cup, but overall it’s a good cup.
Preparation
I’m sure I have had this at some point in history. I can’t find any notes I’ve ever written about it. It is one of the half dozen Twinings teas that have always been on the local grocer’s shelves. Thanks to Brett I will finally get to write a note on this. I read all the notes listed under the loose leaf and bagged versions of this. Normally I consider that cheating. Today I consider it good reading material while sipping tea. The comments were often of the punch in the face, kick in the butt, variety. Then there was the wow this is malty comments. Apparently my experience was less exciting.
I left the bag in the cup the whole time. After having tried the Harney and Sons Irish breakfast, this one seems closer to Prince of Wales – Not in taste rather in intensity of the cup. It does have some light malty notes. It is a bit astringent (drying) but not bitter even with the bag staying in it. I enjoyed the cup while sipping but don’t really crave a repeat. Not bad it just didn’t move me.
A tea Leah makes me drink when she things I’m getting a cold even when I insist that Asgardians are immune to such mortal illnesses. However, it’s pretty good for a forced drink, especially if you sneak in a taste of sugar when she’s not looking. However, it does have a slight odor resembling the pledge of lemons.
Preparation
This is my last sample from the great Twinings sample giveaway.
I have heard good things about this tea, so I have looked forward to giving it a try.
Odor of the tea is softly malty and a bit fruity.
Taste is not real strong and I can taste a little bit of the paper bag.
Not a terrible a cup of tea, just a little light on taste for me.
Preparation
So the little man has been struggling with eczema. He’s been itching and it’s been affecting his sleep which of course makes for long nights for us. My wife and I have been reading how putting rooibos in a baby’s bath can help with eczema. We’ve been trying everything until we can get him into a pediatric dermatologist. So this was on sale at the grocery and wife asked “you’ll drink it too right?”…..but of course. So we put a few bags in with Mr. Zeke’s oatmeal bath, and one in a cup for daddy :) I really like the fact that since it’s rooibos this one is full leaf and not dust. You can see it through the bag. Smelling the pure rooibos here I understand better why David’s tea did have add too much to make the Oh Canada blend. The dry leaf has a sweet woodsy maple aroma. Same with liquor in the cup. A cedar like woodsy flavor almost even wine like. There’s a little sweetness too without any sugar. This is really good and I hope it’s helps t the little man too.
I have eczema on my right hand. Its terrible. I watch to scratch it all the time. I don’t know about tea helping it though.
You can drink it, bathe in it … just like Vitameatavegimin! (Cool…have used chamomile/lavender often for bath purposes, but hadn’t heard the rooibos trick.)
A lovely cup of tea, and one of my favorites, I got the loose tea version for Christmas and I have to say I am loving it. I steep a teaspoon and a 1/4 [sometimes 1/2] using a coffee filter. This is great to put in my travel mug for the mornings when I have to work, has a good caffiene content and wakes me up nicely. The taste is very strong and delicious I’m not sure if malty is the right word but I’ve seen it used.
This tea does however have a bitterness to it, and I’m not sure it’s due to water temperature or oversteeping it might just be because of the strength.
However any bitterness in the cup tends to disappear with the addition of milk and sugar and this is the only tea I regularly add milk to.
Overall it makes a good strong cup of delicious tasting black tea that’s perfect for the morning or late evening, comfortingly strong. Goes well with sweetener and milk.
Preparation
I didn’t know this tea. I used to drink Twinings Green Tea with Lemon Flavour.
When i discovered it… What a surprise ! The taste of lemon was really intense ! More than the Green Tea. Really fine too. No bitterness. A lovely smell of lemon.
Well, this is now my favorite lemon taste tea. If you’ve got another lemon tea king, i’ll take it :)
