I had this tea when a family member came to stay with us. I opened up my tea pantry and said ‘pick a tea, any kind,’ and she just asked for ‘regular tea.’ So this is what I chose. And I think that speaks a lot for this tea.
English Breakfast tea, or variants thereof, tend to be one of the most well-known basic blends throughout history. (Apart from chais, and green teas.) But you can’t go wrong with this tea, it’s a basic, black robust blend and a great medium-strength tea. I like it with milk, or black with honey. It’s a little bit malty, stews very nicely and is perhaps one of the most recognisable from the Twining’s brand.
I really like this tea, even if it’s not the most exciting or the newest blend, it never lets me down, and I’m never dissatisfied with it.

It’s the disadvantage of being a tea enthusiast. I no longer have the slightest idea about what ‘regular’ tea is. :)
My husband making cups of this (decaf) with milk and honey is all that’s gotten me through our rough newborn days of our first child. ;-] When I’m stressed and exhausted, this one’s a quick and easy pick me up. Solid black tea to drink sweet with milk.

Funny thing, this is the best English breakfast that I’ve had. I’ve had loose tea from David’s, The sante, and other local shops near me. I’m talking about the bags, not the loose tea here. For some reason, I like this one much better. It’s full bodied, and has a very rich taste. I like to put a little milk with it, which gives it an almost coffee like feel. When I’m really tired in the morning, this is my tea of choice. Strong, but with a rich taste.

Wow can i say best tea i have ever had! since reading fifty shades of Gray i have been exsploring more of the twinings blends and this blend is at this point my favoret! where i am not Ana and cant just dip my teabag in for a seconds and be ok i did leave it in for about 2 minuts and it was Not bitter at all.. I seam to over brew my black teas alot and im so glad i did not do that with this one!
thanks to Fifty shades I am now an avide drinker of Twinings Prince of wales tea!

Tastes pretty bitter to me. Tried to subdue it with some milk. It tasted best to me when the milk had settled and the tea cooled down. Although it was drinkable, I’ll probably avoid teas such as this one in the future. I’m left wondering whether this one is representative of most Assam teas.

This is the first bagged tea I have really enjoyed hot. Granted, I have not tried many, but the ones I have tried are just too weak of a flavor for me. This tea is a big step up in strength from the English Breakfast blend, and also a big step up in flavor. In fact, it reminds me a lot of coffee. I drink it black, just like coffee, and it is very full bodied and malty without being the least bit bitter. This is definitely my go-to for bagged, unflavored black tea.

This a pretty standard everyday cup. Smells and tastes of bergamot, as one would expect. A little milk can be okay, but sugar doesn’t really fit for my tastes. Oversteeping unfortunately yields a chalky mouthfeel and residue on the cup.

Apparently Twinings has changed its Earl Grey blend in the last few years. I’m inclined to agree, as some of the older reviews complain about the absence of bergamot notes. The bergamot is the overwhelming flavour in the new blend, whereas the black tea is quite weak. This makes for a useful to-go bagged tea, as it takes much longer for the black tea to noticeably over-steep and produce a bitter flavour— on rushed mornings I can throw together a travel mug right before stepping out the door, without having to worry about removing the bag in-transit.
The bottom line: a convenient, easy to make, but weak Earl Grey.
Preparation
This is an OK chai, also easy to find in stores. Less flavor than Stash chai. Best with really hot water. I steep it a long time, 5-6 mins at least. Strong cinnamon flavor, but less spice/clove flavor than Stash. Overall not a strong or full-bodied flavor, but a nice tea.

Being groggy isn’t really the time for anything fancy, so EB shows up.
Not bad for the morning. It’s strong, so it wakes you up a bit.
Nothing special though, just good old black, but that might be because I didn’t add milk and sugar, which goes good with this. Or maybe it’s because I’m not drinking it with traditional breakfast food, since I’m really starving.

A cup of oolong tea is what I aiming for today. I take one tea bag and place this in my tea mug and pour in the already boiled water and let steep for a good five minutes. As the tea’s aroma reaches my nostrils I am reminded of its distinctive flavoring and aroma which is that of roasted and burnt toast like but not strong.
As I sip my tea, it is of the out doors that I am thinking of burnt wood and smoke not filling my eyes for watery eyes but that fleeting smell of something having been burnt.
Overall tasting notes: This is a fine oolong tea from China, expertly blended to deliver that refreshing cup of tea that I have enjoyed. It is refreshing with a delicious taste and aroma.
