A lightly sweet herbal blend designed to support mental performance. The peppermint and rosemary really stand out. I prefer to add a bit of honey. Unfortunately this blend seems to have been discontinued. :(
Flavors: Peppermint, Sweet

Backlog from a few days ago:
Two months ago I visited my sister for my birthday, and she made a pot of nettle tea. It was delicious! Incredibly green and juicy, like I had just had a tonic of vitality or something. She offered to give me some of the teabags in her cupboard, but I declined because I figured I could find some myself.
Big mistake going with this brand. I bought it from a health food store about a month ago and it’s horribly dry and dusty. There’s none of that lovely “you feel like this drink is healing your parched throat after a month in the desert” vitality of it.
I’ll try resteeping it with different amounts of water at different times, but this is a pale shade of the stuff my sister’s got.
I drink this every couple of days to help with bloating. It has a nice nutty flavor that’s pleasant enough. I wouldn’t be drinking this just for the taste, but it helps with bloating and the flavor is nice enough that it doesn’t feel like a chore to drink.
I brew two bags in 15 ounces of boiling water and let steps until it’s at room temperature and then I drink it.
Flavors: Nutty
While this isn’t a tea I crave or would drink regularly, it really does seem to help me feel better when under the weather. It has a cinnamon minty flavor that seems strange at first but actually works well. Overall it tastes pretty good and helps ease the suffering from a cold.
I brew 2 bags in a large mug (15 ounces water) and let the tea bags stay in while drinking.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Mint
Very definitely works. The dry bag smells overwhelmingly like Valerian (which is to say, it smells like dirty socks), so I was a bit apprehensive about drinking a cup of it, but once it is submerged in hot water, the smell goes away and the other herbs take over and make it very sweet, mild, soothing, and enjoyable. And it knocked me out. It worked better than the Valerian capsules I take sometimes. I’m betting that TM uses a superior grade of herbs than the company that makes the capsules.
Flavors: Floral, Mint, Sweet
This tea is soothing with a bit of a pinch. It has a sharp Ginger taste that combines nicely with the lemon grass aspect. I made this tea at just under boiling and steeped for 15 minutes. I would suggest steeping for flavor, adjusting the time for the strength.
Flavors: Ginger, Herbs, Lemon
Preparation
I got this tea at Whole Foods today, definitely an impulse buy. I was there getting lunch and I thought this would be nice as an after lunch tea. Ginger is my favorite after mealtime tea because it helps with my digestion, plus I really like the flavor! The green tea is a darjeeling.
I found one teabag was not really enough to flavor my entire glass thermos so my tea was a bit on the weak side. I got a vegetal, slightly nutty green tea with a mild amount of ginger. Altogether not unpleasant. I will try again soon with two teabags to boost the flavor. I should stop buying teabags but they’re just so much more convenient for the office.
Preparation
I picked this up at GNC the other day when I was there buying something else. I’m generally not a big believer in “detox” teas but I do find that dandelion root helps me a bit when I’m feeling bloated or like I’ve had too much to eat.
This is sort of an interesting combo, it has licorice and star anise in it along with chicory, schisandra and a lycium fruit. The box describes this as bitter and earthy and I would have to agree. It reminds me of a lemony licorice spice. I am not finding the flavor of this to be very enjoyable. It tastes more like medicine to me, but that’s the point I guess. It’s difficult to say whether it’s doing anything for my health but I guess it can’t hurt!

there is a different flavor one i did a review on —→ http://steepster.com/teas/traditional-medicinals/12255-lemon-everyday-detox-tea
This is my second herbal “health” tea today. As it’s steeping, it smells strongly of anise and mint. The scent is anise but it tastes like straight licorice. I actually gave an involuntary shudder on my first sip. I enjoy licorice candy on occasion, but I have not been a fan of it so far in my tea. This reminds me somewhat of Throat Coat but this one is more tolerable. I’m still fighting a headache and neck aches this morning so maybe all of these healing herbs will help.
Flavors: Anise, Licorice, Mint
Preparation
This has a strange color to it. It’s a dark red with a tinge of green around the edges. It reminds me of a potato that’s seen a little too much sun. It’s that sort of green. The aroma is strange too. There is a mintiness but also a bit of something else that I just can’t place. I’m sure this has licorice too because I think I’ve noticed that specific scent as well. There could be anise too. The taste is bitterness and mint. It’s odd.
I wasn’t feeling well yesterday so I packed a few of these wellness teas in my bag today in an attempt to fight off anything that might be making me feel ill. This isn’t something I would drink for pleasure, not at all, but maybe it will help with the lingering sickness.
Flavors: Anise, Bitter, Licorice, Mint
Preparation
Everyone has a health fear, I think. I worry about my heart health. Thus, I am choking down this hibiscus potion.
It’s not actually that bad. It smells more hibiscus-y than it tastes. I think the hawthorn is giving it an herbaceous, earthy quality to it. It tastes like health.
I was wary about trying this tea because ginger and I do not play well together. Truth be told, I don’t care much for it. I went out for lunch with a friend yesterday and the selection of teas were limited. I saw the box sitting there for this one so I went for it. I really like green tea and was hoping that the ginger in it was going to be muted. To my pleasant surprise, the ginger was indeed very subtle and I was really happy about it. This made for a nice, smooth, calming, relaxing cup of tea as I chatted over an also very enjoyable vegetarian lunch.
Flavors: Ginger, Green
I’m starting to really like Traditional Medicinals. They are pretty cheap and none of the ones I’ve had have any artificial flavourings + they are good to keep around when you are getting sick (like me right now…). I have a cold and flu sampler pack I got off of amazon that have 4 herbal teas and I recommend keeping those in stock if that’s your thing :)
I couldn’t agree more with you Kristal! It’s very reasonably priced, readily available (I’ve bought it at the grocery store) and the quality of the flavour is decent. A winner in my book!
Oh yes :). It just amazes me how their herbals teas have NO other flavourings. I know I mentioned artificial in the previous comment but even trying to find a bagged herbal tea without “natural” flavourings (whatever that means) is nearly impossible- but Traditional Medicinals you don’t get that :).
I reaaaaallly don’t like the flavour of this tea. It’s gross. However, that is NOT the point of drinking it. I’m currently drinking it steeped as directed for 15 minutes with 2 spoonfuls of honey and 2 tea bags in my large special order cat mug (I had it done with a black cat with yellow eyes on it. Currently all 3 of my pure black cats look like that so I can’t choose which one it is.)(I have another one with a white cat with blue eyes that is Sinatra. My other white cat Groucho (RIP) had one blue eye and one yellow one.)
SO yes. Disgusting. Have to say though, it does feel good on the throat. It’s stil a bit tickly but I’m not done with the mug yet and I can feel the ‘good slimy’ covering my throat in the back. Just needs to be a bit of a thicker layer and a bit more soothing. I have a stupid tickle in my throat that I think I picked up either from the cold air while walking or from gas fumes. Or possibly from the smokers outside that I had to walk past this morning. Cigarette smoke always makes me cough but usually I’m not still coughing 5 hours later.
I’m not even sick, so I can taste all of this and it is like being punched in the face by a giant animated liquorice stick. But like I said, that’s not the point.
Flavors: Licorice
Preparation
I will not lie, it was extremely unpleasant, but the throat tickle was worse. I was really tired of coughing.
Double-bagged this one and added some honey.
Too much honey, as it turns out. It ended up making the lavender taste VERY bitter and herb-y, and then the rest of the cup was like drinking lukewarm, ubersweet syrup.
What a crappy week this has been. I can’t even get a simple bagged chamomile to taste right so that I can sleep because stress is keeping me awake, lol.
Sooooooo happy that I have the next few days off.
Once again, I’m not sick, but just sampling the teas out of my “Cold Season Sampler” from Traditional Medicinals.
The main flavour in this tea is anise/licorice root followed by cinnamon. I don’t like eating actual licorice but I do like it in tea. I can definitely see how it would be soothing on a sore throat, like Bravissimo from DAVID’s tea or “Don’t worry, be happy” from Steeped tea. The one difference between this tea and those loose leaf teas is that this doesn’t have chamomile. I like chamomile, but this would be better to sip during the day so I wouldn’t fall asleep!
Overall this tea is really nice. It rivals Bravissimo and Don’t Worry be happy and I would even dare to say that it is better due to the fact that the licorice/anise is stronger and will therefore help a sore throat more. This may be the first time I say a bagged tea is better than loose leaf!
Flavors: Anise, Cinnamon, Licorice
Preparation
It’s been a while since I’ve had it, so take my words with a grain of salt! Bravissimo is more complex in its flavour but I’m pretty sure this tea is more soothing on a sore throat than Bravissimo, which is what I’m rating it by.
This is a nice light tea (or maybe it’s just light because I used 1 tea bag for about 500ml?). The first taste is peppermint, followed by a floral flavour and a hint of cinnamon. I like all the flavours, and I know it’ll be beneficial when I’m sick :)
Flavors: Cinnamon, Floral, Mint
Preparation
Since trying Echinacea Plus at work before I decided to by a “Cold Season Sampler” off of amazon from Traditional Medicinals. I’m not sick, but I tend to like teas that are beneficial to you when sick (plus it is always good to keep some of those teas around!).
This tea tastes primarily of licorice root with a slightly spicy and medicinal aftertaste. Not something I would drink for the taste, but I can see this being quite soothing when sick.
Flavors: Licorice, Medicinal, Spicy
Preparation
I love licorice teas which is funny because I hate actual licorice! I think it’s that wonderful aftertaste that’s so soothing.
That’s EXACTLY me. I think that there is a big difference between licorice root/anise seed and black licorice though. Bleh.
