Backlog. I got some of this recently and tried it for the first time last night. I was surprised at how good it was. The roasted and slightly bitter taste reminded me a lot of coffee but without the acid reflux I get from coffee. I had mine with soymilk and it was yummy. The only negative thing is that dandelion root is a diuretic; after drinking a big mug of this I was in the bathroom constantly! So if you’re feeling bloated this might be a good thing. Otherwise I will need to be careful with this stuff and stick to a smaller cup. Yowsa!
Preparation
I am not a fan of ginger. I wish I was though as I know the many health benefits associated with it. I just don’t like the taste, especially if it’s on it’s own. This tea has a strong, natural ginger taste which I think lovers of ginger would appreciate. I drink it when I’m sick as I know it helps, even though I do not enjoy the taste. It deserves a higher rating than I’ve given it but I just can’t rate it higher because I don’t like ginger! However, I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a good ginger tea.
Flavors: Ginger
Herbal tea of the morning. I think I will try to drink a bit less caffeine than I did yesterday, but I feel like I need to drink a lot of fluids. I guess it’s herbal tea & decafs this morning, especially since it’s cold in my apartment.
This is just a basic herbal concoction that is supposed to be good for your liver with different plants like burdock, dandelion, cleavers and stinging nettle. The lemon myrtle is the only thing that gives it much flavor. this is better with a little sweetener, but does that cancel out the effects of the detox? I guess that’s a personal decision. I don’t know if this really works but it certainly can’t hurt anything (unless you have a pre-existing liver or gastro ailment) … Flavor is not wonderful but bearable. I used two teabags in a 10 oz. mug and steeped for 15 minutes per the directions.
