A straightforward, soothing spearmint tea. I really like spearmint flavour and actually prefer it over peppermint flavour. It just seems sweeter and brighter somehow. I like drinking any mint tea really. I find it makes me feel very calm and relaxed.
Flavors: Spearmint
I forgot to pack some tea to go to work so I rummaged the cupboard at the library and saw that this was one of the few non-caffeine teas they have. I like herbal medicinal teas so I thought I would give ‘er a go. The main taste is the echinacea with mint (I personally don’t detect a citrus flavour that the packaging mentions). I find that the echinacea slightly dries out my mouth (the packaging says it’s a “tingling feeling” but I don’t find that). Overall it’s pretty good. I wouldn’t mind looking into this brand more because it seems like they don’t use any extra flavourings which is really unusual for herbals (and even more unusual for bagged tea herbals!) and they focus more on ingredients with health benefits.
Flavors: Medicinal, Mint
Preparation
This smells just like licorice candy. I had read that the primary flavor was licorice so I was prepared, but I was hoping it would be something more like anise. Aside from the licorice, there is also spice here that I can’t quite figure out. I was thinking maybe ginger but I don’t see that on the ingredient list.
This smells different while its steeping, more like the anise I was hoping for, and a bit sweet. Wow, this has some serious licorice flavor. It kind of hits you at the back of the throat with this cloying artificial sweetness. I certainly wouldn’t drink this for the flavor so hopefully it does its job and makes my sore throat feel better this morning.
Flavors: Anise, Artificial, Ginger, Licorice, Spices, Sweet
I was feeling a bit woozy this afternoon so I decided on my way home from work that I would have either a cup of this tea or an Airborne tablet as soon as I got home. Tea wins. My sweet husband offered to make me a cup and I was glad to let him do it. He isn’t feeling his best either so hopefully we aren’t coming down with something. So today I’m drinking this not for the taste, but for the herbs that will hopefully pull me back from the brink of whatever sickness I’ve caught from work. The taste is still decent, much like a plain chamomile tea, so I’m enjoying it.
Preparation
This cup isn’t as good as I remember it being a few weeks ago. I may have just steeped it too long. I can still taste the mint, maybe something like chamomile too. It feels a little flat. But of course with teas like this it’s really not about the taste. Several people at work have been sick lately so I’m trying to be proactive and boost my immune system a bit before I catch something. It’s a little bitter as it cools so I’m sure the fact that I steeped it too long has something to do with it.
Flavors: Bitter, Mint
Preparation
The liquid is a deep amber color with a definite green tint. It smells minty and slightly vegetal. The taste is mint but also chamomile. It’s only the slightest bit bitter.
This is definitely a feel better tea, one you might crave when feeling sick. I felt yesterday that I might be coming down with a cold, but today I feel pretty much back to normal. Maybe it was the citrus tea or maybe it has something to do with the multivitamins I started taking. I’m not sure, but I thought it would be best to banish any remnants of sickness with a cup of this tea.
Flavors: Bitter, Mint, Vegetal
Preparation
At first I was hesitant about this tea, I thought it didn’t taste as clean as the Yogi brand of Peppermint (which I couldn’t find at the store last night). But it is an easy, smooth tea that is absolutely delicious! Very happy with this tea’s taste and fresh smell. :)

I’m 1.5 weeks from my due date! I’m sooooo ready to meet this baby and also to get my body back. I had the easiest pregnancy up until the last couple months. I’ve gained more weight than I should have and I’m not all that tall. I think my body wasn’t built to handle this much weight, so I’m pretty much in constant pain. Sleeping is the worst. Any time I’m laying down, I hurt everywhere: hips, thighs, abdomen, back. It’s obnoxious! I get about an hour of sleep and then I wake up in so much pain that the only way to get rid of it is to stand up and walk around, which obviously means I’m exhausted and fatigued. This is much harder than I had anticipated. I walk at the speed of a 95-year-old lady. I constantly feel like I have to pee even when there’s no pee in me. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night because I vomit in my sleep. Yuck. I feel helpless. It’s rather pitiful. I can’t wait to be normal again. And of course, it’s all worth it. But that doesn’t make the pain any less at this moment. At least I’m not afraid of labor anymore! The number one word to describe how I feel about labor is excited! Bring it on! Well, that was a huge digression but at least an on topic one. :)
ON TO THE TEA!
I tend to steep this once for 5 minutes and then again for 15. That way I get two cups out of one teabag. Today I kind of forgot about it and steeped it for 20 minutes out of the gate. Whoops! Anyway, this tea is a surprise. I guess I always assumed red raspberry leaf would be red and taste like raspberries. But it’s the color of your average herbal (a dark amber) and tastes like mint. Watered down mint; it’s not super strong.
Overall, it’s an enjoyable tea. It’s obviously not something I would drink if I wasn’t pregnant, but I can recommend it to other women in their third trimester. Now I have no idea if this will bring on labor any faster, but it’s supposed to be good for me. So I plan on drinking two cups a day until I run out of tea or the baby arrives, whichever comes first. Let’s hope it’s the latter. :) Come on, baby! We want to meet you!

Bless your heart! I remember those days. You are right though, it’s all going to be worth it when you’re holding that sweet baby. Good luck. Remember you’re stronger than you think! <3
The last few weeks were definitely worse than the delivery for me. Knowing that the end is in sight really makes a difference. Arnica lotion really helped with my aches and pains. I know you can buy it, or you can make it yourself: http://healthimpactnews.com/2012/pain-relieving-coconut-oil-arnica-salve-recipe/ . It’s really good for tension headaches, bruises, and soreness from exercising as well.
when I smell the leaves dry, it smells like spicy flowers
when I smell the brewed tea, it smells like lemon flowers.
when I taste the tea, it tastes nutty flowery and like lemons.
overall it is an ok tea
2 × 1.5 g bags

The hospital sent me home with a couple bags of this, so I decided to give it a try. It tastes mostly of black licorice (from the anise), and I quite like it. Which is interesting since I don’t like any of the teas I’ve tried that have been flavored with actual licorice.
Flavors: Anise

I ain’t drinking this one for fun…. Although surprisingly it tastes pretty good. It’s minty and full of warm spices, like an Italian Christmas cookie. I loaded it with honey because I desperately need this sore throat to pull a Meg Ryan and go into hiding.
It’s not bad. Like all Traditional Medicinal teas that I’ve had, it feels good going down. I hope it supplements the DayQuil. I was lucky enough to get sick on my days off, so hopefully today will be the worst of it.
