I admit, I’m a sucker for vanilla in my tea. While it’s not a tea I keep around all the time (like RoT’s Vanilla Almond) I’ll still sit back and enjoy a cup.

I had reservations about Earl Grey tea because I was turned off by citrus-y flavors. Fortunately this particular blend isn’t overpowering; if anything, it’s my go-to tea whenever I’m feeling down.

I am a lover of nutty teas, and this one is high on my list, right behind the Yerba Mate blend sold by Teavana. It’s also the only herbal tea I really enjoy.

One of my personal favorites from the Republic of Tea. I’m always in the mood for a nice cup!

One of my favourites from the Republic. I like it really strong, milky, and sweet, or weak and faintly sweet. Definitely a dessert tea or a comfort tea. Surprisingly it’s also good iced. (Blasphemy!)

I loved this tea. Sweet smelling and tasting. I’ve only had it hot and should definitely try it iced.

Basically heaven in a cup. Possibly my very favorite vanilla blend.

I can’t believe how long I’ve had this… no wonder the leaves don’t look as pretty anymore. Probably a little softer than I’d prefer but I didn’t think to increase the leaf since I didn’t realize it was as old as it is.

Again, this is soft. Light and floral but not perfume/flowery. More like… a silk oolong lite. That same high sweetness, just not as intense. This isn’t something I need in my cupboard all the time, but once this little tin goes away, I’m sure I’ll eventually pick up more.

ETA: You know, for something ‘imperial’, the expanded leaves sure look liked they’ve been chewed on.

Sure your cats didn’t get to it? Hehehe. Just kidding!

Sweet, floral… More floral than when steeped at a lower temp (I usually do green oolongs at 195 or lower depending on my mood, but the Zojirushi was set to 208 and I didn’t want to wait so I just went with it). In place of the creamy taste that normally comes out at lower temp. brewing, I’m getting a sharper taste and some dryness at the end, but that works pretty nicely on my throat which is sore for some reason. Good stuff.

Mmmm, this hits the spot tonight. I’m getting a good butter taste from it and the floral bit is coming through nicely as well – it’s actually pretty strong for a floral flavor. But it isn’t a light, rose floral or anything that would be sickening, but a richer floral flavor. Orchid I assume but can’t say for sure given I’ve never eaten any flowers (my dad once made me eat a cattail but I don’t think that is the same thing – that was more green leaf/stalk, not floral).

This is quite a nice little tea and something I was apparently totally in the mood for tonight. That makes me happy.

When I first started drinking tea over a year ago, I didn’t like the malty taste of Assam. But tastes change so I thought I’d try it again. I can’t say I’m overly fond of the smell, but this tea is smooth and not unpleasant. I can’t say I’m going to turn into a big Assam drinker but it’s not icky like I once thought it was.

It’s not quite as strong as I generally like my Earl Grey (it’s not quite strong enough to take milk like I like to add) but it’s still very good.

This yummy tea is perfect for the afternoon. It’s a hearty black tea with plenty of jolt. I recommend leaving the bag in the cup the whole time to make it nice and strong. With extra punches of bergamot flavor, it’s a lovely alternative to more mild regular Earl Greys.

This is a nice rooibos with a nice, not-too-strong apricot flavor and the characteristic body of the rooibos. I like a warm cup of it in the evening to relax.

I quite enjoy this. I think I had it first at Peet’s in Harvard Square?

I know folks who live on this tea who are also fond of this brand’s vanilla tea. Emphasis is on the fruity soft flavor, the ginger is not assertive as you might find in some spicy cuisines.
