Tried as part of the The Republic of Tea’s Day of Tea Assortment. Great choice for a black tea, bergamot really shines.

Very faint flavors of apple cider and cinnamon. I use two tea bags but the flavor just isn’t there. My husband thought we should use it, just pour 6 oz of water max. Going through teas I bought while I was working long hours and assessing what I should buy again.

I bought this tea for late summer and early fall at Wegman’s. Very spicy with cinnamon and chili. Loved it.

A freebie teabag from the 2018 San Francisco International Tea Festival. I’m having a horrible migraine today and thought something like this would be fairly inoffensive since my GI goes cray-cray at the same time my head goes boom. I couldn’t rip open the outer package to the teabag and had to get the kitchen scissors, which cut the top off of the interior teabag, so I had to empty all the contents into one of my own fillable teabags, which was slighly more effort than I wanted to put forth while feeling like this, but meh. It was done and the tea was steeped.

I really just smell grapefruit and orange zest coming off the cup. That is mostly what I taste, too, but then, I’ve never had milk thistle and am not sure what it should taste like. The grapefruit is a lot lighter tasting than I usually get when it is used in teas, and I really like that (I’ve started to warm up to it as a flavor presense as of late, even though I don’t care for the plain fruit). It’s like there is a light, milky, slightly floral/herbaceous note that was tempering the grapefruit from being too abrasive, and it actually worked really well. If I was going to drink a grapefruit-flavored tea, I actually think this would be my choice. It’s coming off a little more as a generic citrus zest note, but very pleasant.

Very little flavor in this tea. I steeped to the required time and no flavor. I put in 2 sachets and steeped the required time, just the faintest flavor of cinnamon. Not like a good quality cinnamon spice but more like a very cheap candy. Could not taste vanilla at all. I threw it out; I hate to be wasteful but that was just a bad mistake. Republic of Tea has great label art and generally lousy tea.

I recently took advantage of a sale to get some of The Republic of Tea’s Ginger Peach tea bags, and bought this on impulse. I was pleasantly surprised. It is quite sweet on its own and not overpowered by spices. I would buy this again as a rival to my usual Pumpkin Chai from David’s Tea.

Very thin flavor for being a “Double Dark Chocolate.” The last cup I had, I put 3 teabags in my cup and steeped fro the full seven minutes as recommended on the label. Still thin. Yes it has a cocoa flavor, it has a chocolate flavor, and as another reviewer said it also tastes like dirt (must’ve gone flying off of a horse or a motorcycle like I have to recognize that). Republic of Tea has amazing labels but the tea generally just isn’t as good as other brands.

Quick note on this one to remind myself later – I like this one SO much better over ice. Doubled the tea bags, poured over boiling water and let steep for about ten minutes, added some honey while hot, let it cool, and poured over ice.

I found this one after I tried the Stash green tea and this one is superior in my opinion. It still has an earthy flavor but I just like it better. This is, so far, my favorite green tea.

The flavor is a little milder than the English Breakfast from Stash and it tastes better cold if you’re looking for an iced black tea. I drink this one in the morning or in the afternoon on a hot day with plenty of ice cubes.

Somewhat astringent with grapefruit flavors. I tried it warm and as iced tea, and surprisingly, I like it warm better. More of a delicately flavored herbal.

Moringa Oleifera is a plant native to the foothills of the Himalayas in northwestern India. This is one of The Repubic of Tea “Super Herb” teas. Research is still being done on the properties of Moringa, but it may be efficacious in maintaining healthy blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
BECAUSE I COULDN’T FIND TWO OF THE THREE SPECIFIC INGREDIENTS IN THE PRE-SET LIST (AND COULDN’T ENTER THE MISSING TWO, BEZ IT KEPT REJECTING THE TWO ‘UNOFFICIAL’ ONES, SO THEY WOULD NOT APPEAR), I AM LISTING THE THREE INGREDIENTS HERE: Organic Moringa Leaves, Organic Rooibos Leaves, Organic Mango Flavor.

This was a pleasant, light tea. I steeped it for the recommended 7 minutes, to make sure I got the full flavor. Predominantly grassy, lightly sweet, with that hint of mango, I liked it. I would try it again, but until there’s more research on its properties, I’m not sure how it will interact with whatever medicines I take.

Faint honey flavor.

Thought it was flavorless when I made it as a warm tea. Today I made it as an iced tea and I still think it is nearly flavorless. Very faint citrus note. Basic hydration on a warm day.

Nice cocoa flavor and aroma.

Strange flavor. Not good warm or cold as iced tea.

Weak sweet flavor that is similar to blueberries. Actually, I’ve never had blueberries that tasted this bad. Bitter, astringent aftertaste even when strictly following directions on can.

While the flavor was decent, the aroma was a bit fishy. More than a “seaweed” aroma, just fishy. Not bad but not great.

Not very good tasting, but it does wake you up.

I absolutely love some of RoT’s rooibos blends, so I figured this one was a guarantee. It does have that strong, clear rooibos taste that I enjoy, but it also has something murky that I don’t like as much. Maybe I’m not liking how the cinnamon mixes with everything else? I’ve been making pitchers of this tea to keep in my fridge, which seems to largely fix my problem. I still don’t love the flavor, but it’s refreshing enough to enjoy.

This is probably my favorite just-plain-rooibos tea that comes in bags: It’s a very nice tea! It’s a great, basic rooibos without any other flavors. Would I recommend you buy it in its usual 36-bag tin? Sure. Would I recommend that you buy 250 bags of it in bulk, like I did? No, my friends, I would not — having finally completed that sipdown, I can assure you that it is not 250-bags-worth of amazing.
