I found this in Stash’s Organic assortment. It’s very smooth and not as powerful as Stash Double Bergemeont Earl Grey or even Stash regular Earl Grey. I can’t detect any bitterness usually associated with green tea. I now only drink this tea to reward myself for doing something I’ve been putting off — otherwise I’d probably just spend my days drinking tea and not not doing much else.
Preparation
I got this as part of a tea swap and it’s not something I normally pick. I’m always looking to try new things, so I was pretty excited about this one.
The smell of this tea in the bag was pretty gross to me and I described it to my boyfriend as smelling like a “sick orange”. Once it was steeping, the smell mellowed a bit and reminded me of an oatmeal bath.
My first sip – I made a face much like the little red guy in the Steepster rating system. I am not a fan of the flavors. I’m not sure if it’s the licorice or one of the other ingredients in this tea but it is VERY naturally sweet. It coats your tongue with sweetness and spice. It’s not unpleasant but licorice is not my favorite flavor so I probably won’t be drinking this one ever again.
Preparation
Had this with my vegan lunch today. The smell of this tea is intoxicating! It’s definitely perfect for fall and I need all I can to get in the autumn mood, seeing as how it’s 85 degrees in Florida… Anyway, this tea is really good and I love that it’s herbal, so I can drink it before bed time!
I got this in a tea swap from a girl who said it was her favorite. The smell, as others have noted, was divine. I liked the sourness of this tea, but was put off by the bitterness; half a tsp of sugar took care of that quite nicely. I did open the bag and pour the contents into my steeper; I’m not sure if this made any difference. Good, but not something I need to seek out again.
Preparation
I’m not sure how old this is, it’s been sitting in my mother’s cupboard for an unknown length of time so the quality might not be up to par. Still it’s a pleasent, smooth tea that’s easy to drink early in the morning.
One question, what exactly is supposed to be IN an English Breakfast tea? I’ve heard in various places that it’s supposed to be: pure Keemun, a blend of Ceylon and Assam, a blend of Ceylon, Assam and Darjeeling, pure Ceylon, the list goes on. So which one is the ‘true’ English Breakfast???
Preparation
I was thinking about that today when I had some of the Twinnings verison. They of course don’t include whats in it, only black tea.
After looking around, I think any blend of all the above is considered English Breakfast. But then what makes it English vrs. Irish? Tre confused, someone needs to answer this…
so you got me looking and i found this silly website that kind of explains whats in “english breakfast” and alot more information than need be http://www.mrbreakfast.com/ask.asp?askid=22
This tea tastes very full. It is easily my favorite black tea from Stash
