So long La Naissance, it was fun while it lasted. You have left me confused – sometimes I think you are great and other times I find your floral and nut combination to be off-putting. Luckily this last cup is leaving me with a pleasant memory to remember you by. Thank you Cavocorax for the chance to try this tea as I don’t think I would have gotten the opportunity otherwise. Now I know that this tea can be pleasant but it is just not for me.

Thank you Cavocorax for sharing this with me but more and more something about the combination of the flowers and almond just don’t work for me. After this I have one more cup to see if I can figure this out.

This is my first Fauchon tea!! And after one sip, I know this won’t be the last.

Thank you Cavocorax for letting me try yet another company and a delicious tea. Sipping on this is like indulging in a piece of almond cake. It is sweet and oh so nutty. Plus it smells AMAZING! Although, tbh, I could do without so much floral. It is like sitting at a dessert table and adding a bit of the centerpiece to the dish – unnecessary and frankly, a little weird. But in the end, the almond cake flavors do win out so the cup is a pleasant little treat.

In future, I would probably reach for S&V’s Almond Sugar Cookie to get my almond baked good fix but that won’t stop me from happily drinking up each and every last drop of this cup. Thanks again, Cavo!!

Finally brought in a thermometer and have found out that it is 53°F in my office. Not acceptable!

Have to warm up with tea. Fortunately I have a sample of this one from MissB! I almost bought a tin of this at TJ Maxx when it was around and I wondered if I would regret not picking it up. Well, this is quite tasty, but I’m not completely broken up about not having a tin of it. I have a number of mango teas around right now anyway. But I’m not saying that I wouldn’t pick up a tin if I happened across one again. :)

I’ve been meaning to sample this tea for quite some time now. I forgot about it for a little bit and then discovered it again. I am sure glad I found it in my cupboard! The flavors work perfectly together. The main note is a creamy orange with a hint of chocolate. Very nice on a very cold evening such as this. I plan on enjoying this tea on occasion when the mood strikes. Thank you MissB!

I did not buy this tea when it showed up at the discount stores, but I was curious so I asked MissB for a sample. I knew when I pulled it out today that I would have to drink it today… what a wintery day!

This smells nicely lemony with a bit of white tea and a bit of cream. Yes, this is a relatively lightly flavored tea (which is I guess somewhat unusual for Fauchon), but I enjoy it. It has a nice, creamy texture with a lemony zing. Glad I got to try this one!

Trying this tea again, but overleafing for this go round. The flavors are much stronger! Almond seems to play a more behind the scenes roll to the rose and jasmine, rose being dominant. I can taste some almond at the beginning of the sip, but by the end of it the floral flavors have taken over. There was another Fauchon tea I had who’s floral notes tasted like raisins and baby powder. I’m getting a light touch of that here, but it isn’t overwhelming like the other tea was. I’m not sure what flavor tastes like that, the rose perhaps? I am enjoying this cup, but I don’t think it is one I’d go for a tin of.

I have been eyeing all the tasting notes and buzz about Fauchon teas and this will be the first I have tried, so I’m extra excited about that aside from the fact that I love almond teas! I’m slightly stuffed up this morning, likely due to a fun allergy we call Cedar Fever here in Texas, so I’m sure this tea is a little more complex and bold that what I can pick out right now, but I can’t wait to try it.

First thing that I taste is a tiny bit of jasmine followed by an almond biscotti taste. I think I can pick out the rose and that mingles in the aftertaste a bit too. When the cup has cooled a little I get a blend of rose, jasmine and almond in the sip with almond showing most in the aftertaste. I’m finding the flavor present, but not super strong. I tried using less water on the resteep, but the flavor wasn’t any more intense. The second steep has more almond in the sip and reminds me of the powdered almond drink I’d find at Asian markets. I do love that stuff! Overall this is a really smooth tasting almond tea that I’m quite enjoying and it is leaving a good impression of the Fauchon brand!

had to work from home today, so here’s to trying to get through some of my older teas. I’ve been slacking a little with the warm weather but i really do need to just make a decision on whether i’m drinking things or trying to send them off to good homes. So many teas that i’d be happy to share but so little time to actually pull together a list for people to take from. still enjoying this one as it’s genuinely apricot. I’m also trying to cold brew some today to see how that turns out. nearly done this one and i think i’d take this one over the one from american tea room…though they’re both delicious.

Another one from today and was just the right sort of “fruity” that i needed today. I REALLY want some fruity teas in my cupboard but, as i’ve mentioned more times than i can count, trying to hold off for another few weeks for my chicago trip heh. I added just a splash of sugar to this one to make the apricot flavours pop a little and it was super tasty.

HAPPY WEEKEND! Many adventures in store this weekend: more puppy visits, ikea for some shelves to make sure the dinos are safe when teh puppy gets here, birthday party for a friend, normal house things and of course SLEEEEEEEEEEP…and wine. wine is nice. and tea. lol

noms. afternoon tea – fresh and fruity and totally apricot. I am a fan!

nom. I do enjoy this one – it’s nice to have a non peach flavoured tea, and i like that it’s got a black base instead of the usual green base for these types of fruits. I’d love for the apricot flavour to be a little stronger, but i like that i can still taste the tea base in this one.

Pulled this one out after wandering for the afternoon. I’m trying to get back in to exercising, so this week i’ve been actively pushing myself to get back up to my step count goal in addition to at minimum 3 days with exercise outside of walking (cardio, yoga etc..). Nice to revisit this one as i think it’s one of the best apricot teas that i’ve had. Nice to have something that isn’t peach! plus it’s a black base..so yeah!

I was organising my cupboard a little today and decided i should have some of this one while doing so. I’m glad i did. It was a good reminder of why i picked up so many teas in paris. I love the apricot smell AND taste of this one.

Back in my cupboard and still an enjoyable cup of tea! It’s nice to have something that isn’t PEACH flavoured as i’ve been off of “peach” for a while now and apricot is just a nice change.

thanks missb! dry, this tea smells divine! 100% apricot and none of that dastardly peach flavour. Once brewed however, the apricot isn’t nearly as intense as i wanted it to be. The base tea is nice without any bitterness and i’m guessing with a little sweetner added to this, the apricot flavours would pop just a little more. Thanks a ton for sharing missb!

I’m SO BUMMED! I’ve only got one cup of this left now, since I spilled a little leaf on the floor when I was making a cup just now. pouts

Also I’ve decided I DO prefer this one to Brioche, though they are both very yummy.

I had this for breakfast. I will be sad when my sample is gone! I’m getting pretty attached to this one…

I got a wonderful swap package today from Dexter3657!

This was the first baggie I opened and sniffed…probably because I couldn’t tell from the name what it was going to be like, and I saw almond slivers and that piqued my interest. Anyway, after sniffing I had to steep some up immediately! There was a rose bud and jasmine blossom in my steeper, and the rose unfurled seductively as it steeped. Man, this tea is downright sexy! It tastes like an almond pastry of some kind, with just a hint of floral. Heavenly! I might prefer this one to everyone’s beloved Brioche from American Tea Room, but I’ll have to try them side by side to be sure. I have one cup left of Brioche and 2 or so left of this sample :)

A great many thanks to JustJames for this tea, which is the best possible tea to start off my day.
Its my birthday! So a birthday cake tea is the best way to start off my next year of life.
This is like a cream-puff, light and fluffy, though the mint was a bit of a surprise. Still, very tasty, and thematically appropriate!

The last wee bit of my sample from Cavocorax.

While this is a white tea, and a bai mu dan rather than a silver needle, if I saw this tea somewhere I’d buy it. There’s this delicate creamy lemon flavour (cream enhanced because I’m eating maple walnut ice cream for dinner), and I really quite like it. If I had a lot of this tea I could see it being great iced or cold brewed.

And while I’m thinking about lemon teas, I can hardly wait to make a Butiki order and get some of the Lemon Macaron tea. Butiki is (funnily enough) more accessible to me, and also it’s a white Indian tea, which tickles my fancy a lot more than bai mu dan. :)
