I was scared to try this tea due to my lack of success with other Teavana teas. This is the last tea out of my teavana purchase 6 weeks ago that I am trying, it didn’t excite me even before I purchased it, I only bought it because it was on clearance.

This tea is heavy on the fruit, I am not seeing a lot of tea in my bag which really bothers me, because their prices don’t reflect the lack of tea. The flavour is good, but artificial, which is not surprising coming from Teavana. I also cannot taste any of the base at all.

Although this tea is enjoyable, I would not purchase it again because there are far better strawberry teas out there. I don’t think I’ll be purchasing any tea from Teavana again because I find their teas have very little actual tea, their flavours are artificial and you can’t purchase less than 50 grams of a tea.

The afternoon is my white/green tea time of day and I chose this one today as it’s been a while since I had it, I think probably the day I received it in the mail.

I am not a big fan of melons in general, I only have the occasional piece of watermelon, and I’m talking like once a year. I wouldn’t even touch other melons, including cantaloupe. I do like the occasional melon flavoured candy (nerds is the only one that comes to mind right now). I ordered this tea because it was on sale and it had such amazing reviews!

I always steep my whites in warm water because I am not big on waiting around for tea. I usually forget about them and they turn bitter. I hate when I ruin white teas. This one probably steeped for 15 minutes today and it was AMAZING! So delicate and delicious! It is such a natural melon flavour, but better! I can’t attest to the flavour being specifically cantaloupe as I haven’t had one in 15 years or so, but it doesn’t really matter what melon it tastes like to me. Why can’t an actual melon taste like this!

Now this isn’t a tea I would have everyday only because of my dislike for melons. I have to be in the mood. But I would recommend this tea to anyone, whether you love melons or not, it is just that good. Bumping up my rating because it was way better than I remember. I must have over-steeped a bit last time.

This was another sample from BrewTEAlly Sweet. This tea was great! I have only had one other guayusa and I really liked it, and I find I can’t do a strait peppermint tea, it’s just too much mint, so this was a good middle ground for me. The mint went really well with the guayusa. I also only had about half a teaspoon and that flavoured a whole 12 oz cup perfectly, though I let it steep for a good 10-12 minutes. I just made a Butiki order and wish I had ordered this! Next time, I guess. Thanks BrewTEAlly Sweet for this sample!

I’ve had this tea for about a month and I’m finally trying it now. I put it off for so long because I found the smell off putting. It’s smells very medicinal to me. And a little like chocolate.

I forgot about the tea brewing so it was definitely over steeped. When I took my first sip sans additions I almost choked as I forgot the tea was supposed to be spicy, and boy is it ever. I love spicy food, so this was a welcome aspect of this tea for me. Another good thing about the spiciness was that it somewhat covered up the medicinal flavor I was getting from the dry leaf. I am getting the chai, but no chocolate whatsoever. If anyone has tried sugar free Oregon chai, that is what this tea tastes like, plus cayenne pepper. The sugar free Oregon chai had the same medicinal taste that I hated and had to throw away the rest of my carton. I’m not going to throw away this tea, I want to try it a few more times, less steeping time and less leaf. Maybe as a latte as well, and see if that helps. If not, this is another one for the traveling tea box.

This was another sample sent by BrewTEAlly sweet that I really wanted to try. Sadly, it missed the mark for me. Though it was a delicious rooibos tea, I didn’t get much coconut cream pie out of it. I could taste a hint of coconut, but I am not a huge fan of rooibos so I like the flavour to be quite strong. I made a Butiki order after I drank this and decided to go with mango lassi instead of this one.

drank Sublime by Silk Road

I really enjoy this tea. I ordered 5 teas from silk road and I’ve liked them all. Oddly, even the lychee fruit that smells like tobacco and tastes a little like stewed tomatoes has grown on me and I find myself reaching for it more often than I thought.

This tea is light and refreshing, and tastes like lemon lime. I haven’t tried it iced and I’m not sure I will as it is too cold now, but I imagine this would be perfect iced. The green tea base is not the slightest bit vegetal which to me is awesome. It smells mainly of lemongrass with a hint of lime and I find myself opening this tin often just to smell it.

The thing I love most about Silk Road is that all of their teas are organic and they taste natural, unlike some organic teas that still taste artificial to me even though I know they’re not. I also like the fact that they are based in Victoria, BC, so close to home! I definitely recommend to anyone to try some of their tea. I will be making a second order soon to restock 3 of the 5 teas I ordered and to get samples of many more teas that I want to try.

Another review of this tea mentioned that they smelled stewed tomatoes while drinking this, and while I found the exact same thing with another one of silk road’s teas (Lychee Fruit), I am luckily not finding it with this one.

This is a nice creamy vanilla tea. It is good, but not as good as their London fog which I am sadly out of so this will have to do. I think I will send this rest of this off with the tea box I am expecting in the next few weeks so that someone else can enjoy this as I am making another order and getting me some more London fog, Japanese Sour Cherry and Sublime!

I was sooooo looking forward to trying this tea. Thank you BrewTEAlly for sending me a sample! I have not yet had a grapefruit tea and was excited to try it as I love grapefruit. But this tea disappointed me. I didn’t taste any grapefruit, only a very vegetal green tea, which I don’t like. Maybe it lost it’s flavour in the swap? This tea is a success though as now I won’t need to order this from Butiki and I can try something else wonderful!

I only had enough of this tea for one cup. I probably could have gotten two cups out of it, but I wanted to make it strong so I knew exactly what I was dealing with. It was pretty delicious. I really could only taste the cinnamon, no icing or pastry, but it was really good! I would definitely purchase this if Frank were to re-blend it. Thanks BrewTEAlly Sweet for sending me some of this!

I received a package in the mail today from BrewTEAlly Sweet, and this is the first tea I wanted to try. This tea was pretty good, but I think it would have been better if I didn’t use almond milk in it. I bought I big thing of almond milk for work because it lasts longer than regular milk, but I find it tastes kind of dusty and it’s been ruining my teas. I’ve been in denial because I don’t want to throw it out and waste it but I think I’ll have to. The cinnamon took over the flavour of this for me, but I could definitely taste some cookie in there too, not too sure about the raisin though. It kind of reminded me of David’s Brazillionaire. I really want to try this again as I know it could be better, but I only had enough for one cup. Hopefully we will meet again one day Oatmeal Raisin Cookie! Thank you so much for the sample BrewTEAlly Sweet!

I didn’t drink a lot of tea growing up, just the red rose my nana would make me with about 3 teaspoons of sugar added to it. I started getting into loose leaf tea about a decade ago when I visited our local tea house and tried Rooibos for the first time, though I only drank it on occasion. I didn’t get serious about it until David’s tea came to town. I was on a diet and wanted something I could drink without sugar that had a lot of flavours to choose from.

I prefer black teas, but oolong and green come in a close second. White and guayusa are in the middle, while mate, rooibos and herbals are at the bottom of my list.

Likes: banana, jasmine, pumpkin, lychee, blueberry, chocolate
Dislikes: orange, ginger, rose, hibiscus, butterscotch, honeybush

My non-tea related interests are music, camping, poker, softball, snowboarding, biology and animals. I have 2 dogs and they are my whole life.
