193 Tasting Notes
This is the first tea I am trying out of the travelling tea box that just arrived an hour ago. I’ve always wanted to make an order from Della Terra but their shipping charges to Canada are pretty unreasonable. This is one of the teas I wanted to try. I am not a big blackberry fan, but I don’t not like it either, i’m pretty indifferent about it. I can’t really pick out the blackberry flavour in this but it is good. It tastes like cotton candy to me, more so than some cotton candy teas I’ve tried. The flavour is quite subtle, but I think it works that way as it would probably be too sweet if it was stronger. I would probably order this tea if I ever make a Della Terra order.
I love pumpkin! This tea is delicious, though it does taste a lot like pumpkin creme brulee to me. But with less spice and more creaminess. They are both just so good, but I think I prefer the black base to the oolong in this. I will probably order this anyway along with the pumpkin creme brulee, you can’t have too many pumpkin teas!
This tea smelled so amazing when I opened the package, but the taste missed the mark for me. If I was a watermelon fan, this tea would have got a higher rating. I guess I was hoping for more of an artificial watermelon taste, because I don’t like watermelon, but this was a very natural watermelon flavour. I can definitely see how someone who likes watermelon would love this tea, but through no fault of its own, I don’t like it enough to finish the pitcher.
I just received my latest 52teas order on Friday and I’ve already made another order. This is my third order from 52teas in 2 months. I think I have a problem:( I wanted to wait to see what tea Frank would come out with next week, but I just couldn’t wait and cotton candy black tea was down to 3 left! actually, I think drinking this tea made me super excited to make another order and I forgot that I wanted to wait until it was too late.
I am sick right now but have been drinking a lot of tea. I haven’t been writing any tasting notes because I can’t really taste anything. But, even through this cold, I can taste how delicious this ice tea is! I cant really taste the black base, but I can taste strawberry, and maybe some cream and some sort of pastry? Its hard to tell, the only thing im sure about is the strawberry and it is awesome! I’m hoping that my cold isn’t somehow making it taste better, because I ordered the regular version of this tea that was just reblended. I won’t rate until this 2 month long cold is gone! I think it was actually two separate colds, but i had a horrible cough that wouldn’t go away between the two:(
Wow, this is very rose like! I’ve had teas with rose in it, but never as the star of the tea like in this one. It’s a little too much for me, not because it’s not a good tea, but I guess I don’t like rose. For someone that does like rose, this tea would be a must try. I hope I can pass this on to someone who can appreciate it.
The first time I tried this I was still sick and couldn’t taste much, but even so, I found the flavour overwhelming. Maybe I over steeped. I tried this again today and the flavour wasn’t as powerful as the first time, but still quite strong, and not sweet at all. Sometimes that’s a good thing, but I think in the case of this tea, it needs a little bit of sweetness to mellow out the bitterness of the orange peel. While I like the idea of this tea, there is just something not agreeing with me. I will play around with this a bit becuase I really want this to work, I love chocolate orange.
My Butiki order came in today, I’m so excited! I’ve been so excited to try this tea. I made my first Butiki order in May and this was sold out! I just made another order and this was the first tea I am sampling.
This tea is so delicious! BUT, I can’t say that I taste Eggnog. I can taste vanilla, but not spices. So I guess I am a little disappointed that the flavour isn’t all I was hoping it would be, but this tea is good none the less. The green is a little vegetal, but not overpowering.
Had this one again today to decide whether it was a keeper or if it will be going in a swap.
I found this tea extremely tart this time and the flavour sub par. Again, it reminded me of one of my favourites, Silk Road’s Japanese Sour Cherry. The difference is that this tea gets its tartness from hibiscus and it gives you that dry mouth feeling. I don’t know where the sour cherry get’s its sour from, but it’s a totally different mouth feel. This tea does not have any specific fruit flavour, whereas sour cherry is strictly cherry. I guess if this reminds me of sour cherry then it must taste a little like cherry. Japanese sour cherry is an awesome tea and an awesome experience.
But anyway, back to this tea. It tastes like a tart fruit, but not any specific fruit, definitely not pear. I don’t detect any oolong whatsoever, which surprises me because out of all my Teavana teas, this one has the biggest tea leaves to other crap ratio. I can see how someone may like this tea because it’s not horrible, it’s just not one I would restock, or even finish the bag.

For Della Terra I wait for one of their (frequent) sales. The sales discount usually balances out the shipping cost.
me too, and last year their black friday sale was amazing.
