I’ve recently become obsessed with Copper Cow Coffee. I’m not really a coffee fan, but I was intrigued by the brand and got a sampler. I also got a sampler of flavored sugars from Milk Street that I am also obsessed with. So, I’ve been making myself incredibly iced lattes for the last week.
In terms of the tea drops, Copper Cow sells them as a partnership with Tea Drops. I love Thai iced teas, and really liked the idea of making them at home. I found the flavor really authentic, but there was just way too much sediment for me, even having strained it. Also, $15 for a box of 5 is a bit too costly, as I can get a Thai iced tea (that is much larger in volume) from a local restaurant for $2.

I’ve been trying to be good, so haven’t made many DT purchases (or any tea purchases for that matter) lately. But, I couldn’t resist the ‘free shipping on any order’ promotion, on top of having a free 2oz of tea to redeem. So, I grabbed 4oz of Vanilla Orchid (which is apparently being discontinued :::crying:::), and 2oz of this. I was so conflicted- I love vanilla black teas, but I hate stevia. I decided to risk it. Luckily, the stevia is pretty unnoticeable. Made it as an oat milk latte, and it was quite nice. My boyfriend liked it a lot more than I did, so I will probably be reserving this for lattes for him.

A perfectly average raw pu’erh. Nice to have on hand, but nothing I’m going to be scrambling to repurchase.

I’m bumping this one down since the last time I had it. It’s a really oddly sweet, even though the orange flavor itself is pretty nice.

I’m not sure what I was thinking when I bought this tea. I tend to dislike coconut in teas, and I really dislike the flavor of butterfly pea flowers. But, the color when brewed and the promise of creamy lavender swayed me, I guess. It tastes pretty much exactly as you would imagine. Coconut, lavender, and very strongly of butterfly pea flowers. Not a bad blend by any means, just not something I want to drink.

I’ve been on the search for a really drinkable matcha, and stumbled across Breakaway Matcha. Some of the varieties they carry can get pretty pricey (their most expensive is $209/30g YEESH). I was intrigued, and saw that they offered a customizable sampler. I was going to go that route, until I saw that they actually have an offer to send 2 packets of their cold brew matcha for free! I was very excited. They reached me yesterday in a nice little envelope, with some brewing instructions (basically put the packet and some cold water in a bottle and shake). I made some this morning and I am quite shocked at how tasty it is! So smooth and creamy, no bitterness at all. It’s also a really appealing, bright luscious green. I’m really, really impressed, and will be making a purchase shortly.

I bought a few different aged Tieguanyins from Verdant so that I could compare. It’s just been too hot for hot tea this week. Some truffles that I ordered arrived today, and I thought this would be a nice pairing. I never would’ve guessed it’s a TGY. Very charcoal forward, with some sandalwood and wet rock minerality. A bit sweet, and an incredibly silky mouthfeel. My favorite part about it was actually how soft and silky it felt as I sipped it. That silkiness was an interesting contrast to the predominant charcoal notes.

This is incredibly unique, and was such a pleasant surprise. So sweet- brown sugar, molasses, and honey, with a nice malty twist. I can imagine this would actually be wonderful with some milk and honey.
