Sipdown! Made a pot of this in my new DT seashell teapot :D I kept thinking about it ever since it came out, in the spring, so I figured if I want something for so long and I think about it everyday, why not? Although I do think this tea is very good, I don’t think I will restock, just because I don’t crave it like some others.

Have to bump my rating on this one, it’s much better than I originally judged. Malty with honey notes. Mmm.

Ohmygerd I still can’t get over the intoxicating smell of this oolong! I also noticed how full and “bouncy” the leaves are…no spots, no blotches, no rips, no bruising at all. Wow. After having gotten over the beautiful peachy taste of the tea, I start to notice that it is incredibly smooth, and a bit velvety in my mouth (did I mention this last time? Can’t remember). I must buy more of this. Like now.

Looks like we’re up early on a Sunday! Enjoy this wonderful tea on this beautiful morning :-)

Yes, I’ve been up since 5 am, the baby decided that was a suitable time to start the day lol. Now she’s eating breakfast (eating one piece of something, then feeding 5 pieces to the dog and repeat)and I’m grasping this teacup hoping that this hazy fog of tired will lift at some point ;) It is a beautiful morning though: birds are singing, sun is shining, air is fresh. The ones that are asleep are definitely missing out :)

Just had the most delicious lobster with fresh baked baguette, orzo salad and fresh vegetables. Washing it down with iced tea now :) Although this does have a strange aftertaste, it is so refreshing right now. Yum.

This is not the best morning tea but it’s what I felt like having! I also felt like having cake for breakfast but I don’t have cake :( While my tea was steeping, I decided I wanted to get crazy and have toaster strudels for breakfast. It’s not cake but it’s sugar. I’m craving sugar like crazy today. That usually happens when I am very tired (slept 3 hours last night, at best) and it is uncontrollable. Needless to say, the combination is not a good one. Now my tummy hurts :( Toaster strudels are not a suitable breakfast option ever. Must remember that.

Get some ripe puerh. It always helps with tummy aches

I steeped this a bit longer than usual and now it has a very strange bitter taste to it. I’ve had it many times and it never tasted like that. It wasn’t sour or anything like that (coconut) but it wasn’t as good as usual. Now I only have one cup of this left! :( I’ll have to make this last one count.

Have no more now :( When this becomes available again, I must buy like 250g of it.

Drank this absent-mindedly while chasing the baby and taking a variety of potentially harmful things out of her way only to find that she had a whole bunch of paper in her mouth. So I can’t say that I was really paying attention but I really did enjoy it. More on this one another time I guess.

Sounds fun, and like I have some hilarity to look forward to

Yes, well if there’s any mommy to mommy tips I can give you it’s:

1. No matter how much you clean, your baby will ALWAYS find something suspicious to eat on the floor. It’s not that you don’t clean well, it’s that babies seem to have incredible vision with unlimited zooming ability.

2. If you have a pet, be concious of the location of his food bowl in relation to baby at all times because babies will eat dog food with surprising enthusiasm.

How old is yours? :P

So I cold-steeped this and I’m not going to lie, it probably isn’t the best tea to have cold, but that doesn’t tarnish my love for it. Dark toast, toffee and butter, what’s not to love! It is a bit watery though…

I don’t usually swear in my reviews ‘cause I’m a lady (HA) but let me throw that out the window for a second and just say it: the dry leaf smells so fucking good. I want to drink it, eat it, rub it all over my body, rinse my hair with it, stuff it into my pillow and wash my clothes with it.

The infusion smells of delicate flowers, peaches, butter…The aroma is reflected in the taste with the addition of sweet peas and confectioner’s sugar. This is SO good it’s very soft, delicate and although it is floral, it is absolutely not in any way shape or form perfumey. I would drink this everyday. It reminds me of those french flower flavoured candies, but without the intensity.

I know, right? This tea is like a little treasure to me.

Bio

I was introduced to the world of tea after trying to find a way to stop binging on sugar at night (I have a bit of insomnia). Then I had the brilliant idea of going to David’s Tea to get some sweet dessert-y teas to replace all the crap I was eating, whilst still satisfying my sweet tooth.

And then I tried an Oolong and I was done for.

So this is me, exploring the world of tea with excitement, spending way too much money on it, drinking impressive amounts of it, and although I do love flavoured teas, I am now beginning to try high quality straight teas, and trying to learn as much as I can. I have rarely been so passionate about something so quickly.

My boyfriend thinks I am crazy with all my teas. I actually hide some from him when I get deliveries, just so he won’t panic haha. When he does say something, I just reply that to me, tasting tea is like tasting wine, and it brings me the same kind of joy as eating chocolate or eating fine food. Only better.

Flavours I Like: Most fruits, Cinnamon, Licorice, Cloves, Pepper, Caramel, Vanilla, Chocolate, Cardamom, Floral Teas, Honey, Coffee, Pastry/Bread, Smoky, Woody

Flavours I dislike: strong vegetal tastes (a little is ok), Rooibos, Mate, Lemon, Raspberry (for the most part), Orange, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Overpowering Mint,

Other than that, un-related to tea, I love make-up artistry, parrots and birds (in real life, not objects lol), crime and trial stories, flowers, baking, wine, reading, collecting teapots and mugs and stand-up comedy.

I love Dexter, Orange is the New Black, Hannibal, all reality food and cooking series…

As I’m re-reading this I can’t help but to notice how I love extra dark things and extra happy things with no real middle. Hm. xD “I like staying up to date on murder trials…and drinking tea while bird watching!” I’m NOT weird, I swear. :)
