Another sample from mj1851 :) I love this tea! I added a bit of sugar and some milk before tasting it, just because I couldn’t do straight black this morning, so the flavours may be a bit different straight, but I’ll make another tasting note when I have it black.

I don’t know if it actually contains amaretto flavouring, or if they used a super fruity base with a bit of a malt taste plus the almond flavour, but whatever it is, it works! This is really very good. I’m usually not the one to jump on a tea containing nuts, although I enjoy them but I would definitely buy some of this. I wonder if I cold steeped it and added lemon juice, would it taste like an amaretto sour? Probably not.

The scent of the dry leaf reminds me of David’s Tea ’ s forever nuts. Taste-wise, it’s a whole different story. I love that I can clearly taste the base. The taste on the tongue is a bit nutty, with cinnamon, it’s good.

But the magic happens when you exhale. All those pastry notes come out to play, and frosting was invited. It’s truly wonderful, like taking a deep breath before the next bite of your warm, sticky cinnamon bun.

mj1851 told me it was "get it in my mouth now* good. Girl, I agree

Ok I’ve just chugged sipped on another cooler cup. Now the taste of the exhale is the taste of the tea altogether. MUST BUY.

I’m so glad you liked it! This was the first American Tea Room tea that I tried and it was by far my favorite. To be honest, the others were a bit a of let down after this one. I’ll be interested to see what you think about them!

Sipdown (finally!).
Cold brewed it this time and although it does not taste like what I would imagine laundry detergent tastes like, it’s still not very good. The aftertaste is terrible. Like poison. Bleh. No more.

Nooooo, mj1851 sent me her last teaspoon of this and I screwed it up! I made a smoothie, but used too much ice and although I can taste the matcha, I can’t taste the flavoring. I love matcha so I’m happy, but I wish I would’ve been able to taste the toffee.
Boo :( Definitely have to place an order with red leaf teas now. Thanks for enabling mj1851 ;P

The super awesome mj1851 sent me a whole BOX of this :D yes, it’s bagged tea, but don’t be a hater, ‘cause this is SO good. It is more like liquid shortbread than liquid sugar cookie, and that’s bonus points in my books! The tea is litterally pouring down my chin because I can’t drink it fast enough. So glad I made a whole pot of this.

mj

Haha, I love it that much too! I may have gotten a tad too excited about this tea when I discovered it this past Christmas and thought, “OMG I won’t be able to buy this until next Christmas?!?!”…. and subsequently bought 8 boxes. Since you mentioned that it’s not even sold in Canada, I thought I’d share the wealth! I’m glad you like it :-)

Virginia

Well, next holiday seasson, I’ll look for it and if I can’t find it, I might ask you to ship me a few boxes cuz whooaaa so goood. Will you be my christmas tea mule? lol

mj

I will totally be your christmas tea mule. That would be so fun! I’d get to be one of Santa’s elves lol

As I’m drinking this, I can’t help but to think I’d love for my really good oolongs to have a bit of a vanilla taste. I love vanilla. This is not the best oolong I have, but I keep restocking because of the vanilla. It’s expensive for what it is though.

Nicole

You might look at Silk Dragon from the Tea Merchant. A really good oolong, IMO, as well as being nicely vanilla.

Virginia

Would love to, but as I was checking out, I saw that shipping was around 8 dollars. For a 7.50$ tea. :(

Nicole

Yeah, I wasn’t sure what shipping would be. I make up a lot of tea orders only to stop when I get to shipping. I can’t justify shipping of as much or more than the tea costs. So I stack more and more in my cart until I then can’t justify spending that much on tea. :) I can’t remember if there is any in the TTB. Shoot me a PM with your address and I’d be happy to send some along to you.

On a cloudy and cold morning, the beautiful aroma of jasmine is all I need to make me feel like I’m sunbathing in the garden.

So I read an article on the health benefits of green tea and since I’m easily influenced, made a whole pot of this, then drank it in about 15 minutes because I can’t pour this down my throat fast enough. Am now considering a re-steep. I usually don’t resteep, ‘cause I like variety…Meh, we’ll see

Bio

I was introduced to the world of tea after trying to find a way to stop binging on sugar at night (I have a bit of insomnia). Then I had the brilliant idea of going to David’s Tea to get some sweet dessert-y teas to replace all the crap I was eating, whilst still satisfying my sweet tooth.

And then I tried an Oolong and I was done for.

So this is me, exploring the world of tea with excitement, spending way too much money on it, drinking impressive amounts of it, and although I do love flavoured teas, I am now beginning to try high quality straight teas, and trying to learn as much as I can. I have rarely been so passionate about something so quickly.

My boyfriend thinks I am crazy with all my teas. I actually hide some from him when I get deliveries, just so he won’t panic haha. When he does say something, I just reply that to me, tasting tea is like tasting wine, and it brings me the same kind of joy as eating chocolate or eating fine food. Only better.

Flavours I Like: Most fruits, Cinnamon, Licorice, Cloves, Pepper, Caramel, Vanilla, Chocolate, Cardamom, Floral Teas, Honey, Coffee, Pastry/Bread, Smoky, Woody

Flavours I dislike: strong vegetal tastes (a little is ok), Rooibos, Mate, Lemon, Raspberry (for the most part), Orange, Lavender, Eucalyptus, Overpowering Mint,

Other than that, un-related to tea, I love make-up artistry, parrots and birds (in real life, not objects lol), crime and trial stories, flowers, baking, wine, reading, collecting teapots and mugs and stand-up comedy.

I love Dexter, Orange is the New Black, Hannibal, all reality food and cooking series…

As I’m re-reading this I can’t help but to notice how I love extra dark things and extra happy things with no real middle. Hm. xD “I like staying up to date on murder trials…and drinking tea while bird watching!” I’m NOT weird, I swear. :)
