562 Tasting Notes
I’m going to be one of the very few people to say this, but I don’t care for this tea at all. I find it to be… strange. The first steep, I didn’t know that you were suppose to rinse the leaves. I almost never drink pu’erhs and I didn’t see the rinsing thing anywhere on the packaging or on the website. But now that I’ve looked around a bit online, I see that, and I gotta say… that’s kinda weird.. haha
Anyway, so I tossed my first steep after I saw that, and resteeped it for a few minutes. The second steep is definitely better, but I still don’t really care for it at all. I think the earthy-ness is too much for me, and I definitely get the fishiness that someone else was talking about. I get that smell pretty good.
This came in a sample pack that I got as a gift, so I only have a little. I don’t think I’ll be keeping what little I have left. It’s too bad, ‘cause so many people rave about it. I think it’s just my personal tastes. I’m not for the more earthy smelling/tasting teas…
Sorry Oh Christmas Treat… I just can’t do it… :(
Preparation
I went to the Banff store today and it was awesome! I never thought I’d ever get to go there and it was made possible. It is a really sweet store with great service. I loved being there.
This was the tea of the day. It was delicious! I’d have this again. It was so good. Lovely orange flavour.
I’m just going to make a quick note of this one as I had this a few days ago.
This one smells like Bailey’s. It took me a while, but I finally figured out that is it. It smells good.
Taste-wise: It’s very good. I’m gonna have to have it again, but I remember it being very good. I’ll update again soon with more thoughts.
I like this tea! It’s so warm and maple-y flavoured. I enjoy the toffee flavours coming out and I love that it’s got some green rooibos base to it. Maybe I’m crazy or alone in feeling this way, but I love me some green rooibos and I feel it isn’t capitalized the way it should!
Anyway, I love it. And I know this is probably terrible to say… but I seriously think that this would taste really good with milk! I dunno, but it sounds good to me.. maybe next time… :)
Preparation
I never understand the taboo about putting milk in tea. I say if it tastes good, just do it! I’ve been known to sneak some in my dessert rooibos on occasion haha.
I don’t mind adding milk to black teas. I find most of the time I can’t seem to drink black without milk, but otherwise, I don’t usually. I dunno… I’m gonna try this with milk next time. i think it’d be good :)
I am totally stealing this term and idea from PatchworkSheep! I’m making a franken-tea!
It’s half Chocolate cake and half salted caramel. I’m actually really enjoying it! It’s chocolate-y and slightly caramel and I’m even picking up on the salted part. I’m liking all the mixtures. It’s pretty tastey. I’d highly recommend it to anyone. Very yummy. mmmmm chocolate-y goodness. It’s a great option for anyone craving a hot chocolate too! I added some milk and it made it creamy and delicious.
Preparation
I have been looking at these mugs for MONTHS! Not even exaggerating. I finally decided to get one. I got the Eggnog snowflake one apart of the winter collection. It’s so pretty. I’m totally loving it. It is the perfect size and I love the filter with the lid. It just is awesome.
I’m looking to get the glass one with the DavidsTea log on it in the spring. :)
YES. This is by far the best mug I’ve found. I’ve got 2 glass ones now, as well as a a noble mug version and the giant one. LOVE them! Seems weird to rave about a mug like this, but they’re that good.
These look like the glasses I got from Teaopia before they closed, but without the filter. I have three sizes. A mini almost like shot glass size, an 8oz and a 12oz. I LOVE them. I think they are so nice to look at and they keep the outside of the glass nice and cool… or warm (if you are drinking something cold). I love these. Highly recommend.
I think this is a tea where the batches were not uniform. I received three packets of this tea last year (all from different DTs across Canada) and while one was definitely fishy and unpleasant, the tea from one of the packets was amazing and truly tasted like a chocolate orange (albeit a bit “earthy”). Unfortunate :( And I didn’t rinse, as DT instructions didn’t indicate I should (although being more experienced now, I might if brewing it again).
I was about to say the same as Kittenna! My first batch of this was amazing, but my second one was sub par. Actually I find that with a few DT teas. Teaopia as well, not sure if the same applies to Teavana
lol I just got this one again in a sample pack that my dad got for me. I’m going to try it again. This one smells very different from the last one, so maybe it’s a better batch?
I’ve found that with multiple DavidsTeas, sadly. Like the fiasco with ‘Oh Canada’. I had no idea how people thought it tasted so, so awful, but I’m convinced now that it was a batch issue.
I hope this one’s better!!
lol thanks, me too! I think I might try it this afternoon after work.
I wasn’t liking this tea a whole lot either (got it in a Christmas sampler pack). I also didn’t realize that I had to rinse the first steep, so I will try again. I really WANT to like it, as I enjoy orange chocolate, so my fingers are crossed that once I give it an inital rinse, it might be more tasty to me.
