562 Tasting Notes
Chance Combinations?! Yes pls!
I’ve done this one before, but I wanted to log it here also as I think it’s a great combo. From the Tea Haus, their Swiss Chocolate and the Hazelnut Cream. 1tsp of each for 3mins. Milk added. The tinest amount of sugar added. Equals chocolate hazelnut bliss! I’m in love. :) And it’s going to help me use up what I have.
Preparation
One more tasting note on my beloved Stormy Night. The more I drink this one, the more I like it. I almost think of Saigon Chai drinking this one. The cinnamon taste is a little similar.
I’d buy this one again in a heartbeat. I want to get a full tin of it at some point. I have a GC for Davidstea, so maybe once I have sipped-down a few others I might get some more of this one. For now though, I’ll enjoy my last few cups (I have enough for one or two more cups.)
Preparation
I believe this is the tea that I’m having this morning. I was too slow-moving this morning to actually take the time to make my own tea, which is very unusual for me. Normally that’s the one thing that I always make time for.
Anyway, this tea is fine for this morning. It’s a normal orange pekoe with a mellow/mild flavour. And honestly, that’s all I really have to say about this one this morning…
I’m having this one today again after not having it for a long while. I’ve reorganized my tea collection and moved it under the microwave on the microwave stand. While doing this, I decided it was time see what was nearly gone and condense things. I’ve got a bunch of small tins that I bought from Teaopia before they closed (they hold about 20-25g) and I moved all teas with small amounts into these tins. They are going to be the ones that I try to drink up first.
Anyway, onto the tea. I thought I’d have this one again as I can’t for the life of me remember what it tasted like. It is so perfect for tonight. I’ve been sick and I think I’m finally just about done the cold. So, this one was great ‘cause I could actually taste it really well! The strawberry is smooth and the ginger is a nice little zing! When I worked for the chocolate company, we had ginger chocolates and they were awful. I couldn’t stand them, and to see me liking this one is so funny. The ginger isn’t too strong, but gives the tea just a little something extra. I like the combination and how it seems to all flow so well.
I would definitely get this one again, but I will wait until I have more space in my tea area. I want to get the collection under a bit more control before I buy anymore. haha
Preparation
I got a lot of those tiny tins too and do the same thing. Sipdowns and when I want to try a new flavour at Davids, that’s what I use them for :D
And oooh, I never thought of this one for when I’m feeling ill. I’ll have to try it next time since I’m sick of all things lemongrass.
Any idea if Davids would refill these tins? (I wouldn’t expect a discount or anything) ‘Cause then I could just get them to put some in it and off I’d go!
I never thought of Lemongrass when I’m not well either! I have a TON of Three Lemon Green and I’ve never once thought about drinking it while sick. I think I’ll try that!
They will fill any tin you bring in at Davids. If it doesn’t hold 50 or more there isn’t a discount but I just like saving the environment a little. The stickers don’t fit well though, so you have to get creative with them. :)
Lemongrass is a good one, I actually prefer it to the mint ones that are designed for illness. Its more soothing on my throat.
I am one of the many people that are fighting a cold right now… boo… I hate being sick. HATE it. But really, who likes being sick?
I got this one when I went to Banff. I got it mostly ‘cause it smells delicious! I wasn’t sick, but rather wanted to have it on hand in case someone got sick or I was just feeling adventurous to try it without a cold.
I think I made this one a bit stronger than I meant to. It apparently made the whole main floor of the house smell like vicks vapour rub. I was able to smell it a bit, but after a while I couldn’t. I don’t think it really did anything for me other than it helped sooth my throat a bit. I would definitely get again though. Others found that it helped them a lot, so I would go with that based solely on their experiences
I always find that the Teavana teas smell better than they taste. I’m kind of saddened by this. I tried this one today finally.
The pineapple is pretty good for flavour, but I think it’s the rosebuds or something along that lines that doesn’t sit right for me.
I wouldn’t buy this one again. It’s fine, but just not enough of a flavour for me. I like Davidstea’s Tropicalia better. It’s got a similar taste, but I find it’s like nicer. It’s sweet and delicious.
I think I’ll make a big pot of this iced and finish it up.
Preparation
I got this one for Christmas from my dad! Yaaay dad!! It’s a good one!
He did a good job picking this one. It’s very yummy. I am transported back to my youth again, riding my bike with friends and picking mulberries around our neighbourhood and eating them. Absolutely delicious! I would get this one again without a doubt. Right now I have about 130g, so I’ll be more than good for a while, but yeah, it’s very good. Yummmy :)
Preparation
I’ve been wanting to try a matcha tea for months now, but I’ve never been adventurous enough to do so.
So, today, I went to a friend’s place and she made some of this for us in latte form. I have to say, I don’t care for this at all. It’s too grassy for me. It’s just too much… I drank most of it, but I don’t think that I’d ever have it again. Just not my ‘cup-o’-tea’.
I’ve never had a Canadian Breakfast tea before! I didn’t even know they exist!
My dad gave this to me along with a bunch of other teas. I’m so excited to try them all! This one is absolutely delicious! I love it. I finally understand the ‘malty’ term I think. This one has it and it’s nice. The tea is not overpowering in any way. I find it to be quite nice. I used 1tsp per cup and steeped for 3 mins. I’m starting to notice the Metro tea company’s black teas only need about 3mins. I’m not too sure why that is. I haven’t been able to figure out why some are short times and some are long. It really doesn’t make sense. If anyone knows, could you let me know? I would love to know why.
Anyway, so today is almost another snowmaggedon out there. I can’t believe it. Last night was bad and it only got worse. I think it’s basically stopped now, but I’m not even too sure about that. This tea was great to have today. I wish it hadn’t cooled off so much by the time I got to drink it, but it did ‘cause I had to get to work and my car got stuck in the snow. I had a neighbour come by and help me out. I don’t even know the guy, but he saw me stranded and he came and helped push my car plus helped shovel out my tires so I could move.
That’s the one nice thing about this kind of weather. You get a chance to help each other out and be there for one another. I find that something like this really can bring society together if they let it. I love seeing these blossoms of goodness in life when you finally get a chance to see the good in people and the helping, generous spirit that people have. Growing up, I always thought that was what people were like, and when I realized it wasn’t always the case, I really got upset. I didn’t understand how terrible people can be. But, like I said, I love these moments when people show their good sides and give me back the hope that maybe people really are good and have good hearts…
I dunno.. just my random thoughts this morning.
Anyway, definitely recommend the tea. I think it’s great!
