736 Tasting Notes
Finally Trying this! I’m so excited! I’ve been so overly anxious about this tea, it’s not even right. xD When I first smelled this tea I didn’t think of cotton candy. I kept thinking of some other fruit for some reason. When it’s steeping it smells a lot more like cotton candy.
As for taste it seems like a few people on here weren’t really impressed. I can see how you would think it tastes like sugar water. xD But as someone who really likes sweet things but can’t actually sweeten things herself, I really like this tea. Also cotton candy is kinda just sugar in general. So it makes sense why it would taste like sugar water.
It totally tastes like cotton candy. This was what I had hoped that Della Terra Teas’ Cotton Candy would taste like, but instead it was just like drinking straight rooibos with a tiny hint of something sweet. But this one is really strong. Even the aftertaste is good. :O Ugh man, this tea.
This was definitely a win for me! Probably will have to get more before it’s discontinued. Also seems like the thing to do for rooibos is to put cute lil sprinkles and stuff to make it more appealing. xD I approve of it. Even though sometimes it’s misleading for certain teas. Not for this one though!
If you are a cotton candy fan you probably should at least try it. It’s worth it! Love this tea! ^^
Flavors: Candy, Cotton Candy, Sugar
Finishing off the last of the sample that JennyFur so graciously gave me. It’s become one of my favorite teas. It’s at least one of the cutest teas I’ve ever seen with all the little sprinkles and marshmallows. Next time this tea is available I’m stocking up!
It’s just like creamy caramel and marshmallow in a cup.
I cannot wait till this is available again!
Flavors: Caramel, Cream, Marshmallow, Vanilla
I love the Assam base of this tea. It smells like an Assam but then BAM! It’s all caramel and vanilla-y mixed in with the malty-ness. Those are some of my favorite flavors in a tea. Ahh this tea. It’s just so good. I’m going to restock this one again and again. It’s just so ridiculously perfect. Butiki Teas is definitely living up to the hype! ^^
Flavors: Caramel, Malt, Vanilla
First off, this tea smells amazing! It totally smells like one of those strawberry wafers.
As for the flavor it’s rich and full. Now this one is cake-y! I taste a lot of strawberry and mild hints of espresso and chocolate. It’s not too overpowering. Just the perfect amount of every flavor.
Overall it really reminds me of those strawberry wafers that I used to eat all the time growing up. So this tea is definitely a win! :D
Flavors: Cake, Chocolate, Espresso, Strawberry
I actually wasn’t interested in this one initially, but it seems the espresso flavor is quite mild. I may have to try it when I finally do a Butiki order. :)
I read strawberry wafers as ‘waffles’, so now I’m a little hungry. The tea does awesome though… it’ll be part of a future Butiki order for sure.
This tea keeps making me think of River from DW whenever I see it. And As much as I don’t like her, I still decided to try this one. And I’m so glad I did!
Bananas, toffee, and coconut. Ugh. This tea, man.
It smells like candy, and it’s sweet enough not to feel like I should add any sweetener. It’s just as strong in smell as it is in flavor. It’s seriously just so good.
I can’t even say that enough. I’ll have to stock up on this.
We should just deem this the official DW tea. Forget all the fandom blends on Adagio. This one just beats them all. :P
Flavors: banana, Candy, Coconut, Toffee
Debating on if I would like this or not. I like bananas, and banana bread, but I’ve never had anything that was banana flavored that I liked. But maybe with toffee and coconut, I could find a winning combination!
I mean the other flavors are pretty strong too. I think you might like it. If you hated it you could always swap it with someone on here…everyone likes Butiki xD
Finally beginning to try the teas from my Butiki order! I’ve been so excited but haven’t had time to try them. So this is the first. (:
I’ve never seen a tea like this before, it’s so soft and fluffy. It’s pretty cute. :P
As for how it tasted…this tasting note may or may not be super accurate.
I didn’t look at what time it was when I began steeping it because the power went randomly out. It didn’t take long to get my power on again, but I still am not sure if I over steeped it or not. xD If I did it was just a few minutes, but I don’t know.
Not sure that this tea reminds me of Birthday Cake…I can taste the vanilla and some kind of spice that I can’t exactly place.
Not really what I expected, but it’s not bad. It tastes familiar but I can’t think of what it reminds me of right now. >< It’s not a very strong tea, in any way, so not sure how much I can re-steep it. Guess I’ll find out!
Anywho, glad I tried it. (:
Flavors: Spices, Vanilla
To me it tastes like vanilla icing, like the thinner home made kind with confectioners sugar. It’s got that distinct powdered sugar taste. And also vaguely eggy. And for me it resteeped almost the same as the first steep.
I am pretty sure this was meant to be cold brewed, but I rarely ever cold brew tea. I’m more of a hot tea kind of person. :P This tea is pretty peachy, but doesn’t taste burnt which is a relief. I think that Adagio tea scarred me with the burnt peach. xD Maybe I got a bad batch? Who knows.
Anywho, this is alright tea. At least hot. I’m sure it’s a lot sweeter and better when it’s cold! Maybe I’ll have to just give in and try it iced one of these days.
Thanks for the sample, mj! I’m really excited to have tried Lupica finally! :D
Flavors: Peach
This just tastes like blueberry and rooibos to me. Compared to the Blueberry Crumble I had before, this one is definitely the loser. I liked how the Crumble tasted like a pastry, it was amazing! But this one is just plain old blueberries and rooibos. xD
Not terrible, But I wouldn’t buy it.
Thanks for the sample, Cameron B!
Flavors: Blueberry, Rooibos
Yeah! Not sure if it’s available yet or when it will be, but you should definitely try it. It’s just like a blueberry pastry! ^^
Well it’ll probably be a while before I order anything else from Della Terra. I wasn’t super impressed with most of their teas and I have a lot of other places I want to try. :P
Eh, not super strong. Maybe it’s because it’s a bit too hot right now, but even smell wise it’s not strong. I think I like Teavana’s Peach Jasmine better…it’s definitely a lot stronger.
It tastes faintly of jasmine, but nothing really strong. Oh well. Least it was just a sample. xD
Thank you for the sample, darby! (:
Saw a few different reviews for this tea on H&S Appreciation Day. So I had to try it, of course. :P And I’m sooooooo glad I ordered this one!
It definitely has an earthy bent to it, kinda one of those teas where the after taste reminds me of hay. xD That doesn’t sound nice, does it?
But it has a mild malty taste with hints of cocoa when you drink it. It’s just they hay-ish aftertaste that throws me off a bit. It’s a good tea though! I’ll probably get more. (:
Now I can understand why everyone seemed to write about this tea on H&S Appreciation Day!
Flavors: Cocoa, Hay, Malt
I’m so glad that you are enjoying this tea! I know you were so excited when it came out. :D
It’s just…just so good. Have you tried it? I can’t remember haha
if you haven’t I’ll have to send you some so you can try soon :O
I have tried it! It was in the TTB that I just sent off. I thought it was good, just was hoping for it to taste a bit more like cotton candy. But thank you so so much :]
Glad you tried it! :P I must have missed that tasting note?
Oh pooh bears! I have had the Della Terra one…not Davidstea.. wow, I can be such an igit sometimes… >.<
I change my answer.. I’d LOVE some if you are willing to spare it:] Thanks for calling me out on this:P
XD No worries haha I’ll send you some soon!
Thank you!! :D
