736 Tasting Notes
When I opened this bag a wave of pure dark chocolate hit me. Holy Shanghai it smells amazing!
As for flavor it is pretty nutty. The chocolate is more subtle compared to the nuttiness.
This tea is basically genmaicha with hints of dark chocolate. Not as amazing as I thought and hoped it would be. But nutty and roasty flavors overpower everything else. Well not horrible, just not what I expected, and I probably won’t buy this again.
Flavors: Dark Chocolate, Nutty, Roasted
So I got 2oz of this tea from Persimmon Tree’s 20% off + free shipping sale a few weeks ago around the 4th. I couldn’t resist getting a few of their teas-one of the most awesome sales to me!
What appealed to me in this tea was the possibility that it would taste like vanilla mixed in with the assam. As it steeped I could mainly smell the black tea with hints of vanilla. But when it cooled down enough to drink the vanilla really hit me.
You can still taste the black tea of course, but it’s not really malty or anything too distinct.
This tea reminds me a lot of Harney&Sons, Vanilla Comoro which I adore!
It’s basically the more subtle version of Vanilla Comoro.
I wouldn’t go out of my way to get more of this tea, but if they have another awesome sale like before (fingers crossed for Black Friday/Cyber Monday) I’ll definitely purchase more. Another nice vanilla tea!
Yesterday before dropping my friend off at the airport I went to Lupicia. The first legit tea store I’ve been to other than Teavana! I was so ridiculously excited! For some reason I thought it was going to be a lot bigger, and have nicer workers, but it was pretty small and the girl working there wasn’t friendly at all. Not very helpful either when I asked her about some teas. xD But that’s okay, I still enjoyed being there. I like that you don’t have to ask to smell certain teas. It’s nice to just do it yourself. Though people say they don’t have all the teas out to smell. But that’s okay, they definitely had a lot.
Wow, I’m rambling….sorry about that. I’m just excited. But one more thing-this Lupicia is one exit away from my dr so that means I can go after/before dr appointments in the future! Woo! I’m so excited! Now I will have something to make up for all my horrible appointments! :O
Anyway, onto the tea. I have always liked melon flavored things. Can’t remember if I’ve had much of an actual melon, but I have always liked it in other things. This tea smelled so fresh and juicy. I couldn’t resist buying it at the store.
While it steeped I could pick out the oolong base. It’s not a roasty oolong, but more floral. An excellent combo with the melon.
As for flavor I could taste a perfect combo of the floral oolong base, the juicy melon, and delicious cantaloup.
Which is a bit odd since I have never really liked eating cantaloups. But I suppose that the melon and oolong are enough to outweigh the cantaloup.
This has definitely made it’s mark in being one of the best fruity teas I’ve ever tried!
Love it! If you ever get something from Lupicia definitely get this one!
Flavors: Cantaloupe, Floral, Melon, Sweet

I’m not sure I could pick out the difference between melon and honey dew. I’ve not had much of those two flavors. xD But I’d love to try their Golden Honeydew tea. Wish they had it in LA! And yeah, glad it’s somewhat close. Like 50 minutes away but hey! Better than only Teavana!
This was the tea I chose from redeeming my Frequent Steepster points from DAVIDsTEA. I would never pay 20 bucks for 50g of tea. I’d have to be super rich for that. But since I could get it for free I figured why not!
I love watching the tea that’s rolled up into balls, or in this case, little cocoons unfold. I find it so pretty when it does that. (:
As for taste, the green tea isn’t overpowering, but I can still taste it as an aftertaste in my mouth after I swallow. The jasmine is strong, so of course, this tea makes for another win in my mind!
Lovely tea! ^^
I’ve had such a rough day emotionally. First my best friend who has been visiting me for the last week left again. Then my family was causing issues over my friend. And on top of that I’ve been feeling horribly physically. It’s just been a horrible day emotionally.
So it was a nice day to get my Whispering Pines order.
The strongest flavor I taste is baked bread. It definitely reminds me of that. There are hints of honey and caramel that make this tea so sweet. Reminds me of the Golden Snail tea, which upon trying last week became one of my favorite teas, hands down!
So this one is definitely a win!
It cheered me up some today, at least made me stop crying. Definitely an excellent tea worth trying!
Flavors: Baked Bread, Caramel, Honey, Sweet
Haven’t had much time for tea since a friend has been in town all week. I have missed it! And I’ve missed being on this website. :P After tomorrow I should be posting more, I think. So in case any of you are wondering why I haven’t responded to any messages, that’s why. Not just trying to ignore you!
Anywho, bought this the other week from the wheezybee! Thought that it would be a lot stronger, according to everyone’s reviews…
But the black base is pretty obvious and the subtle hints of caramel and honey don’t hide it. It’s not horrible. But not as strong as I had hoped.
52Teas always seems to be hit or miss. Only found one that I really love so far. But I can’t say too much, I haven’t had tons of them to try yet.
Anywho, glad I tried this! One Day I’ll have to find a tea that legit tastes like candy corn. :P
Flavors: Caramel, Honey
I love mint chocolate chip. I usually love anything that tastes like that. But this tea…I don’t know. It definitely tastes like mint chocolate chip, but the mint really got me in this tea. Maybe I’m beginning not to like mint in teas? I’m not really sure now. 0_0
They are pretty hit or miss for me.
Not gonna rate this yet. I’ll have to try this one again. :S
So, steeped this for like 5 minutes on accident. xD Got way too excited messaging Sarsonator about Rifftrax. If you have no idea what Rifftrax is, look it up. It’s like one of the greatest things in the world! XD
This is pretty malty, but not too strong. I love the cocoa notes in this tea, it’s just a perfect combo of chocolate and malt. ^^ Another win from Whispering Pines!
Flavors: Chocolate, Cocoa, Malt
Ugh, I just need to try this so bad. The overpowering nutty sounds a bit dissapointing though.
If you like genmaicha you’ll probably like it.
