736 Tasting Notes
Holy. Freakin’. Shanghai.
I love this tea.
This is the second time I’m having it since Terri sent me such a generous sample!
The first time I could taste bread, honey, sweet potatoes, and malt. Today I taste mostly malt with lot of honey and a touch of sweet potatoes in the background.
It is seriously just soo good! Oh goodness, I really should order more of this one!
Thank you sooo much for the sample, Terri!!!
Flavors: Baked Bread, Honey, Malt, Smooth, Sweet, Sweet Potatoes
Had this one this afternoon. Goodness. This one too!!
So delicious!
DTT really does creaminess well. I cannot say that enough! I need to get back to drinking this one more. When I first got it I was drinking it a few times a day haha!
Had this one earlier tonight…Holy Shanghai. It’s just so so good. I love how the creaminess balances out the sour lemon taste.
UGHHHH
I just love this tea soo much! :D Glad I have so much of it in my collection. DTT better not ever go out of business!
Another one I thought I’d love but just wasn’t for me :(
I mean, it wasn’t horrible. But it wasn’t like the best black tea I’ve ever had. I think I liked the dragon pearls from What-Cha better than these.
I didn’t know how much to use because it didn’t say on the bag or on here, so I only used one pearl. Steeped it for the proper amount of time and then tried it.
It was pretty light. It had notes of cocoa and wood.
It’s an okay tea, not my favorite. But not my least favorite either.
I’m really glad I got to try it at least! Feels like everyone loves this tea and I’m like the odd one out. So it’s good to not have wasted money on this one!
Anyway, thank you, Terri for the sample! :D
Flavors: Cocoa, Wood
My uncle fell in love with this tea…calls it his heroin, as it cured his bronchitis once (ya think he’s call it his antibiotic, but no….) They were out at TeaVivre so I ordered him a substitute from Adagio…I wonder if he’ll call it his placebo from now on…. :)
Sad I didn’t like this one…Don’t know why I wanted to like this one so much, but I did. D:
The one just tasted like horse manure and wood to me. >< Wayyy too strong for my taste. :( Thanks for letting me try this one though, Terri!
Flavors: Wood
Hahah yeah, no, donkeytiara! I live in the country, surrounded by horses, and that’s enough for me! I definitely don’t need to have interaction with them-and especially not after that comment-sounds horrible! XD
Soo I’ve only tried the Autumn version of this tea last year. It tasted like honey and sweet potatoes. It was incredible! I have wondered what the other seasons of this tea taste like. I have wondered if they are super different or almost the same.
Terri was kind enough to send me a sample of last year’s spring harvest in our swap so today I finally tried it!
I was kinda thinking it would be the same while I waited for it to steep. But when I went to drink it, much to my surprise, it was pretty different from the Autumn harvest! The sweet honey flavor was there still. But instead of the other main flavor being sweet potatoes, it was bread. There was a few hints of sweet potato in there but not as much as the autumn harvest.
Love this one!! Seriously soo good! Makes me wonder if this Spring’s version of this tea is going to be like the sample I have. Wish I could know! If it was, I’d totally pick up some!
Thank you sooo much for a sample of this amazing tea, Terri!! :D :D :D

Got a sample of this from Amanda ‘SoggyEnderman’ Wilson. Haven’t really been a huge fan of 52Teas to be honest. Most of them aren’t great on my taste buds. But I found myself a bit tempted to pick this one up when they first released it, but I refrained.
So I’m glad to have gotten a sample of it!
Sadly, like most of the 52Teas teas, this one didn’t really live up to the name for me.
Really all I tasted was nutmeg and cinnamon. Which are flavors in eggnog, but…it didn’t have that thick creaminess to it that I like teas that are supposed to taste like eggnog. So yeah, kinda bummed out by this one! It wasn’t bad, but didn’t remind me of eggnog either. :( Thanks for letting me try it though, Amanda ‘SoggyEnderman’ Wilson (:
Flavors: Cinnamon, Nutmeg
So. I really never thought I’d be saying this to be honest. Well, at least not this soon in my tea journey. But…guess my journey is full of surprising discoveries!
I really like this white tea. I totally would buy this white tea.
I really don’t get why some people love white teas. Like they aren’t amazing. To me, most of them taste like hay. It sure beats how most green teas taste like grass, but still, hay??? I never really got the appeal of hay flavored teas.
I was kinda just expecting this to taste like hay like the other white teas did.
While this one did have hay notes, there also was a lot of malt in it, which doesn’t seem like a white tea at all! It kinda felt like a black/white tea combo. And to make it even more weird, there were sweet melon notes in the background of every sip!
Seriously such a weird tea-I don’t even understand! XD
But it was good. I tried this yesterday and I’m STILL surprised by how much I enjoyed it! :D I think I might have to buy this one :O
Shocking, right!?
So so weird. My likes/dislikes are just so out there sometimes haha!
Anyway, many many thanks to the lovely Cookies for sending me a sample of this! :D
Flavors: Hay, Malt, Melon, Smooth, Sweet
I can back this up too – grandpa steeping whites never leads to bitterness, just really intense flavours. If you cool the water a little, it’ll deffo be fine to steep for ages!
For some reason I was really really craving a chocolate tea today. Don’t even know why, but I really was. This one totally hit the spot!
It’s not often that I crave chocolate-y teas, which is why I don’t have tons of them in my collection. I honestly kinda just feel the need to have this chocolate-y tea in my collection and no other one. Plus! This one doesn’t taste like wood! Keep thinking that maybe it will start tasting like wood randomly since apparently my taste buds love ruining everything, but they’ve not betrayed GO yet, so that’s good! XD
