736 Tasting Notes
This smelled really good while steeping..really fruity. But when I went to drink it, it totally turned on me! It was like a citrus hell. D:
Tasted some other fruity notes in the background, but I couldn’t deal with the citrus long enough to pick out what they were. I seriously do not handle citrus well…like at all. xD
i took about three sips and then I had to dump it. Oy. Not for me!!
Thanks for the sample though, EmilyGee! You definitely saved me money on this one!
Flavors: Citrus, Fruity, Orange, Sour
I’ve wanted to try this for a while! I really wanted to like it, but part of my assumed I wouldn’t since I have such bad luck with teas sometimes. xD
So this one was a pleasant surprise for me! :D
The main flavor is bready. It’s very bready-Which I absolutely love! There are notes of honey too, but isn’t overly powerful. Really really enjoyed this one!
Not sure I’d buy it since I have a super bready tea from Tao Tea Leaf that I’m blanking on the name of at the moment…But it’s amazing!
But Terri sent me a really generous sample so I will have a few more cups to decide if I should ever pick this up!
Thank you so much for the sample, Terri!! Happy I liked this one! :D
Flavors: Baked Bread, Honey, Smooth, Sweet
Ahhh! This is the last caffeinated tea I am drinking before I take my vicodin. >> On the bright side I’ve nearly waited a whole 7 hours before taking another pain killer! And I didn’t even sleep in that time! Now that is an accomplishment!
Anyway, this tea. xD
So I wasn’t sure what to think of this tea, for some reason I thought it was a black for the longest time, even though I looked it up a couple times. xD So I don’t know what happened there!
This tea was like half roasted flavor and half flower flavor. Not floral exactly…well not the floral that I enjoy so much in green oolongs. But more of just like actual flowers…if that makes sense. xD I usually dislike roasted oolongs…like a lot. But the flowers in this one made it a lot more bearable. It was such an interesting combo, I couldn’t stop drinking it. It’s alright. Don’t think I’d get it again ever though. A little too roasty for me!
But thanks soo much for the sample, LiberTEAS! I’m so happy to have tried it! :D
Flavors: Flowers, Roasted
Ususally I like peach teas. But this one…
This one was just bad. 0_0
There was no sweetness really, and the black tea base really overpowered everything else. Kinda bitter, and all around not the tea for me.
Disappointed in this one. D:
Thanks for the sample though, Albertocanfly!
Flavors: Bitter
Had this tea this morning. Saw that a lot of the notes mentioned chocolate being a main flavor. So I went in kinda expecting that, only to find I was totally off. xD
Definitely off in a good way though!
The steeping aroma smelled like sweet potatoes. And when I went to actually drink it, the taste itself was an amazing mix of sweet potatoes and malt. Think more malty than the other-but there was a good combo of both! Didn’t have the honey notes that a lot of teas have when they taste like sweet potatoes. But maybe that’s just because there was more maltiness and the malt might have made it less sweet…
But I dunno.
Either way this is a delicious tea! And in light of my last tasting note, it is another victory tea for my okay morning! XD
Thanks for the sample, Terri!!! So happy I got to try it! :D
Flavors: Malt, Smooth, Sweet Potatoes
My Teavana order came in a few days ago-was a big surprise considering that they didn’t send me a shipping confirmation. xD But that’s fine, it made for a nice surprise!
I tried it the day I got it unsweetened, and it was really good. I really do love the combo of jasmine and strawberry/rose. It’s just so good.
Yesterday morning I tried it sweetened, accidently put a bit too much sweetener in it(see I suck with sweetening things! XD). Shockingly, the two cups I got at the store were not nearly as sweet as when I added sweetener. But it was still really good. At least I knew that it’s easy to make it like it is in the store! Happy that they don’t sweeten it as much as I did! XD Next time I will make it right.
On a side note, I haven’t been able to drink caffeine teas in the morning because my pain has been super intense and I just have to take vicodin like right when I get up so I can function. But after a PT session on Wednesday, where she tried something entirely new , the last two mornings I have been able to wait to take any pain killers, and I have been able to take a shower and get dressed without feeling like I’m going to collapse.
And overall yesterday was way better than it should have been. Kinda scared that being happy at the thought of it working is going to jinx it or something, but I’m really happy!! ^^ I definitely know it’s not coincidence at least. So yeah, these last two mornings I have been celebrating with caffeinated tea! :D :D
So this was the celebration tea of yesterday morning! :D
Edit:
Apparently this is my 600th tasting note. xD So Yah for 600! :P Took me long enough haha!
Oh when I take vicodin it’s when my pain levels are super high and I’m also very sensitive to caffeine, so If I take pain killers and caffeine then I’ll be really awake and not so relaxed. xD Since my pain levels are usually super high I have to do everything I can for the pain killers to actually do their job super well. A lot of caffeine in my system throws the whole thing off. xD Soo I find it better for me to just wait till they start wearing off to drink a caffeinated tea. Does that make sense, Lindsay? If it doesn’t I’m sorry, I suck at explaining things haha!
Thanks, Carol Who! I’ve never been so excited to go back to PT! I really am praying and hoping that I’ve really found something that will help me for once! :D
Sure, that makes sense. :) For some people adding caffeine to pain meds actually helps (hence caffeine being an ingredient in some combo meds like Tylenol #3 and excedrin). But I can see that if you’re really sensitive to caffeine, and it makes you tense, then that’d be counterproductive. Have you ever tried a GABA oolong? I wonder if something like that would be less stimulating and more relaxing.
So I’ve decided this past week that this is my new work tea. Ever since I finished Teavana’s Jasmine Oolong I’ve been craving a jasmine tea in the morning. After I finished those two ounces I switched to putting a fruit tea in my tumbler. At first the flavor lasted, but the second time it didn’t do so well, and it didn’t make me feel awake and with it like the Jasmine Oolong made me feel.
Soo I figured this one would do-and so far it has! :D
Also learned on accident that I have to steep it for like 10 minutes for it to keep the flavor for the whole morning. xD Really did not mean to do that, but shockingly, it wasn’t bitter! So yeah, this is my new work tea! Plus it’s cheap so I don’t feel bad not using the tea bag again since I don’t have time!
I taste papaya, cherries, and grapes.

Uhh yeah…not really my thing. xD Not sweet but pretty fruity. :S It’s too weird of a combo for me! Plus if it makes you lose weight my mum would be strongly against it. Apparently I’m underweight, soo this is clearly not the tea for me haha!
Thanks for the sample though, Albertocanfly!
Flavors: Cherry, Fruity, Grapes
Got a sample of this from EmilyGee! Have wanted to try it…that DavidsTea fan group on FB makes me wanna try tons of their teas because apparently they are amazing.
Well…
That’s definitely not the case in my book. xD
Just like with every other tea company, I seem to only like a few xD
I had high hopes for this one, but of course it was dashed when I took a sip of it. The steeping aroma smelled really sweet and fruity.
But the black tea base totally overruled. Wasn’t sweet at all. I didn’t even over-steep and it was just bland. Tasted faintly of blueberry but that wasn’t enough. Bummed out this wasn’t as good as everyone says! :( Glad I tried though. Thanks, EmilyGee!
Flavors: Bitter
if it makes you feel better i’m with you on this one…i don’t understand the love everyone has for it
I think I loved it because of the smell and also because it was so sweet when I got it to go. But I really don’t care for stevia, and I also don’t care as much for this tea anymore.
“like a citrus hell.” LOL, Thank you for making me laugh on a chilly Monday morning. :)
