768 Tasting Notes
Actually this might be my least unfavorite lemon rooibos I’ve tried. Usually, they’re like floor cleaner to me. Here, the lemon is mild and not too fake, and it really seems to mix well with the rooibos. It’s still not an excellent tea, still a bit weird tasting, but I’m happy to have enjoyed a cold cup of it.
This is the first tea I tried from the Reddit traveling tea box. The flavor is mostly licorice-like, which I didn’t expect. It looks like it’s four years old though, so it could have lost its flavor. It does have a decently pleasant taste, but it’s not super special tasting. I would never know it’s hojicha. I wish there were more carrot/spices/pumpkin/cake!
The flavor here is mostly herbaceous sage. Definitely no sugar for this one. I had some veeeery sweet pancakes, and this was immediately the tea that I wanted to wash them down. Sage in tea can just be so refreshing! And there are other supporting ingredients in here, but I can’t tell what.
So fresh, sweet, fruity, and refreshing. I just love rooibos! I feel like you can taste the green rooibos more, which is great because not enough blends use green rooibos! The flavors shine the most cold. The resteep is just as strong as the first as well. So simple and tasty.
Thanks to tea-sipper for this sample! I don’t think I’ve tried Octavia before, but I’ve wanted to. I didn’t love the flavor at first since the oolong seemed a little too minerally for my tastes, and I felt like the peach couldn’t really shine. I left it in the fridge for the next day, and found myself enjoying it much more. It doesn’t have that same peach flavor that every peach tea has. Instead, it’s more of a light flowery hint of peach with some of the base tea peeking through as well. I still don’t love it, but I appreciate it for what it’s trying to do.
This has that same herbaceousness I’ve come to expect from butterfly pea flower. Most of the flavor is dominated by some light fruitiness combined with the slightly unpleasant butterfly pea. It’s okay, but not better than other teas of this variety. Most of the blend was flowers, and it could have been much more balanced. I wish it were just a little flower for the color while focusing more on the fruit flavor. The main fruit I taste is lemon.
Thanks so much to amandastory516 for sending me a sample of this one! I actually sort of love it! Even though there’s a lot of genmaicha in there, it’s not the main flavor at all. I feel like I taste sage and a bit of fruitiness. I’m enjoying drinking it at room temperature.
Thanks to tea-sipper for the sample! The flavor is light and fruity. The green tea isn’t my favorite, but the fruitiness is nice on top of it. I wouldn’t say that the flavor is clearly guava, but it’s definitely close. It was tastiest cold. I don’t think I would buy this one myself since the green tea was more present than it usually is in DT blends, and I’m just not a huge fan of the base tea itself. Probably not the tea’s fault, just a personal preference.
Thanks to tea-sipper for sharing this one! The flavor is lightly fruity, and I feel like I can sense the cucumber. I’ll definitely have to give my sister a cup of this the next time I see her! I wish I could taste even more cucumber, but this was pretty pleasant!
The flavor is a little artificial, but I still enjoy it in most sips. I taste a nice fresh pear. I also taste some light spices that go very well with the pear. I also get some alcohol from the flavoring. It’s not my favorite pear tea, but it’s definitely grown on me since my first cup of it. The resteep is pretty decent too. I wish the spices were a little stronger, but they really are nice with the pear.
“least unfavourite” made me laugh
Yeah it’s difficult for me to describe lemon rooibos teas positively, so that’s the closest I could get :P
I so relate to you on the “floor cleaner” comment! Don’t know why lemon is such a hard flavor to get right…
