768 Tasting Notes
I saved a tiny sample of this tea from a previous tea box. It smelled like old coconut even back then, so I probably should have made an effort to use it up more quickly. The flavor was mostly old coconut as well, but just old as in stale/soapy, not as in rancid. The black base is gentle. I’m sure this tea was quite nice in its prime. It certainly wasn’t unpleasant to drink today.
I have actually been trying to hunt down this very tea yesterday. haha I LOVED it from a teabox. I THINK it might be this one, but don’t quote me on it? https://specialteacompany.com/product/pineapple-coconut-black-tea/
This tasted a little peachy, but it also had a distracting herbal flavor to it. Teas like this are frustrating to me because I don’t care about whatever supposed health benefits they offer (metabolism boost in this case), and the health ingredients just make the tea taste worse. It could have been a tasty peach tea, but instead it was a little too herbaceous for me.
I think this tea is best cold. The chamomile, mint, and sweetness mix to make quite the lovely blend. I don’t buy boxes of this anymore, but if I come across a bag somewhere, it’s always a safe bet.
Somehow this tastes fruity even though there aren’t any fruity ingredients. Maybe I’m tasting anise. It’s not very chai-like, mostly just lightly sweet. Not a bad tea, but it doesn’t match its name. Really it’s so fruity. Though other reviewers aren’t noticing this. Maybe I got a weird batch..
I haven’t been too impressed with Teavivre’s fruit tea options. They all taste pretty generically fruity and almost indistinguishable from each other. This one has the same red fruits flavor. It’s a little weak also, so I recommend overleafing. But I really can’t recommend this tea in general. It’s boring and not very tasty.
Thanks to Plum Deluxe for the sample! The nuttiness is the main flavor. If you’re in the mood for something nutty, this would definitely do the trick. This blend is more rooibos than anything else, which I’m a fan of. Nuts and quality rooibos just combine so deliciously. I’m not sure I notice the black tea there too much. Really, this is a tasty, deep blend. I’m glad these samples are so big because I’m going to enjoy several cups of this one!
Thanks so much for the swap, tea-sipper! Everything looks great, as always. I started with this tea because I was in the mood for something lighter. It’s slightly minty while also being herbaceous. It has a lot of ingredients, and I certainly can’t taste them all. I wouldn’t say that everything necessarily fits together perfectly, but it’s not bad. There’s just something a little tangy in there. So yeah, I wouldn’t buy this one, but enjoyed sampling it.
