Brought some of this to drink at work, it’s always freezing in this office in the winter so it’s nice to have tea options. Obviously I have made sure to set myself up with a good selection!
I was previously pretty jazzed about this particular tea, because I love eggnog. I love Butiki’s Creamy Eggnog tea though I’ve always found it not quite comparable to actual eggnog, (likely because of the lack of spices)…so I was hoping this would be a bit noggier for the holidays, since I drink the Butiki one year round. Yeah, noggier.
Sooooooooo the smell is amazing, the taste is pretty good, I enjoy the use of green rooibos over the red variety which is woodsy and haylike and makes me want to barf a little. BUT, the tea brewed up is pretty thin. And sludgy. Lots of white chocolate chips means extra swampy oily tea sludge floating around in my cup.
So, likely due to that there is a hint of a weird chemicalness.
I will drop my rating down from the previous (over-enthusiastic) rating of 83, but I still don’t hate this tea. I’m glad I bought a little tin and I will probably just leave it sealed until next Christmas, if we’re being totally honest here. I appreciate the caffeine-freeness of it!
I MUST try it as a latte, I still have some actual eggnog left at home if it hasn’t gone rancid yet. I have this weird thing where I always balk at the idea of adding milk to any tea that isn’t black. But since other tea people recommend it… I guess the people have spoken.
