681 Tasting Notes
Super disappointed in this one from H & S. Usually their stuff is much better.
I got the silk sachets. I could smell the blueberry before I even removed the seal on the tin. Artificial-smelling, like blueberry flavored candy.
Steeps a normal green tea color, which is odd because there are supposed to be real pieces of blueberry in this blend. Shouldn’t it at least have a purple-y-blue tinge to it?Liquor smells strongly of fake blueberry and lemongrass.
The water I used was admittedly too hot, so the tea leaves ended up with that nasty, bitter, “cooked” taste, which I will own is my fault and not the blend’s. But even discounting that, the fake flavor is still overwhelming, with a note of cloyingly sweet fake vanilla in the aftertaste.
For now, this is a hard pass for me— will not be restocking. Will try again at another time with water at the proper temp and see if my mind changes.

This is a lovely herbal/ fruit tea. H & S blends are always blended so perfectly. The orange peel and flavoring balances out the flavor profile. Sweet, with just the perfect edge of bitterness that makes cranberry so appealing. Truly does the berry and the flavor justice!
It’s a nice fall/ wintertime blend, great for snowed-in Sundays like today. It would go very well with a toasted and buttered English muffin.
Sorry that all my flavors posted twice. Steepster glitched on me.

Chinese black teas are my favorite. It’s odd that Tazo keeps touting this one on the packaging as a lychee flavored blend, when there is no direct mention of lychee in the ingredients (unless it’s included under the “natural flavors” umbrella). It’s smooth and sweet, fruity, and steeps up a muddy amber color. Slightly floral afternotes. Very delicate and lovely.

Preparation
This tea is so simple and so delicious. It comes in mesh sachets, which maximizes the flavor. It’s blended perfectly. Nice and mild and satisfying. Why did no one else think of this before? I would only drink this one hot— not sure if it would be good iced.
Flavors: Herbs, Mint, Spicy, Sweet
My very favorite black tea ever. I’ve been mainlining it because I have caught my first cold of the season. It’s amazing straight up. It’s amazing with milk and honey. It’s just toasty and warming and perfectly balanced.
I hope they never stop selling it.
Flavors: Baked Bread, Butter, Toasty
So sorry that I’ve been so absent from Steepster.
Today was my first day back from a week long vacation, so I had a lot of catching up to do. Needed a soothing, caffeine free tea to keep my stress levels in check. This blend is really nothing special. I wish it had more lavender.
I sipped this down, and I don’t think I’ll be repurchasing.
Not very good quality and weak flavor. Double-bagging it helps. Good in a pinch and I’m sure it’s not hurting me in the health department, but I doubt it delivers as many health benefits as the box promises. Otherwise Burlington Coat Factory wouldn’t be hawking it for $3 a box.
I’ve never tried real matcha, but I have had good quality sencha before. I definitely taste the sencha in this blend. It’s accompanied by a grassy, slightly burnt/ bitter note that I suspect is the matcha.
I do enjoy Japanese green teas usually. I should try real matcha soon.
