This is a little better than Stash’s other fruit flavored herbals. It has a strong fruity flavor, and I don’t taste as much clashing from the herbs. It still has a licorice aftertaste, though. I don’t really like it, but it’s somewhat more drinkable than the last few I’ve tried.

This is an ok tea. Tastes like honeybush and caramel. There’s a tiny bit of a chemical aftertaste, which I don’t care for. I’m not tasting any apple at all, which is disappointing. Not bad, but not anything special.

I associated that chemical taste with a weird vinegary kind of thing. Wasn’t my favorite, either.

rosebudmelissa

I didn’t think the aftertaste was too bad, but overall this was kind of unremarkable.

I’m not really getting anything from this other than a mild, slightly sweet rooibos. It’s not too bad for a rooibos, but I’m not tasting the flavors other people have commented on.

This seems like a pretty good introduction to Puerh. The liquor is a deep brown with a bit of burgundy to it. The flavor is very rich and smooth, with a bit of tart fruitiness at the beginning of the sip, and a lingering taste of wine at the end. It tastes surprisingly decadent, and very well-rounded. This definitely makes me even more interested in trying some other puerh teas.

I had a cup of this while I was out at dinner last night. I really like peppermint, so I knew I wouldn’t dislike it, but I will say that this seems like a good quality peppermint. It had no bitterness to it, just a refreshing minty flavor, unlike some lower quality peppermint I’ve had in the past.

This is a mild, floral tea that I would probably enjoy if not for the Licorice. I’m beginning to get the idea that Licorice in any amount just ruins a blend for me. I’ll have to start checking for it and making a point to avoid it in the future.

This is lovely. Light with a refreshing and very natural tasting melon flavor. It was a bit bitter, but I think that was because I used water that was too hot. I’ll have to experiment a bit, I haven’t had many white teas. It tastes like it would make a wonderful iced tea as well. I think I may decide to keep this one.

I came home today to find my first traveling tea box on my doorstep. It’s been very rainy here lately, so the box was a bit wet, but I don’t think it made it through to the inside of the box and everything is in plastic anyway, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Since I’ll be heading to bed soon, I decided to give one of the herbal teas a try, and this sounded very appealing.

The brewed tea smells like butterscotch, and it mostly tastes like it too. I almost feel like it’s too sweet for this time of day. I’m not getting any nutty or chocolatey flavors, which is a shame. It seems like they would balance the sweetness a bit. The tea has a bit of a licorice aftertaste, which doesn’t blend very well with the butterscotch. Overall, it’s a bit disappointing. It doesn’t live up to it’s name.

I was also disappointed that it doesn’t live up to the smell when you open the bag. It wasn’t bad…but it wasn’t what it was supposed to be, right?

rosebudmelissa

That’s pretty much how I felt about it.

Saw this at my in-laws’ and decided to give it a whirl since I’d never tried it before. Unsurprisingly, I was unimpressed. The base tea was uninspiring, and I could barely taste the berry flavor. I won’t go out of my way to drink this again.

This is the first white tea I’ve had. It was rather bland and just a bit bitter. I couldn’t taste much of the raspberry flavor at all. Maybe I should have steeped it longer at a lower temperature?

Preparation
Boiling 1 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 8 OZ / 236 ML

The lower water temp will make a huge difference. Steeping a white tea in boiling water will usually cause bitterness.

rosebudmelissa

Thanks. What temperature is good for a tea like this? The bag didn’t say, which is why I just used boiling water.

Vegetables (carrot)

Flavors I Dislike: cardamon, elderflower, licorice root, stevia, tulsi; artificial cherry, and almond flavors; bitter smokey, leathery, medicinal, or overly sweet teas

Allergies and Sensitivities: lavender and stevia upset my stomach

Ratings: I rate teas based not on their objective quality, but on how much I personally liked them. I mostly do this because it’s an easy way to tell at a glance if I’ve tried a tea before and if I’d be interested in buying it. It sometimes takes a while to sort through and find out whether or not I’ve reviewed a tea without rating it.
90-100: Truly excellent tea, will buy again, could drink it every day but might save it for special occasions because it’s just that good, will miss it if it’s not in my cupboard.
75-89: Really good tea, would buy. Might be a solid everyday tea, or something that has a strong appeal but doesn’t quite amaze.
66-74: Good tea, would buy, but will also look for better
50-66: Probably wouldn’t buy this tea, but would drink it if offered
33-49: I will never buy this tea, and would probably even turn it down if it was offered to me.
1-32: I hope to never drink this tea again

I currently have a young baby, so while I’m drinking lots of tea, my activity may be sporadic.
