721 Tasting Notes
I’ve never had straight-up chai before and Monica has this soooo IT’S WORTH A SHOT.
I’ve had chai in blends and they’re soooo good. Wanted to try some without any additional flavours and YUM.
**Edit. Okay I drank it aaaaand I don’t think I’m a fan of like just chai. I like the chai blends, but just plain old chai turned out to be a bit bitter? I ended up just putting a lot of milk and sugar to try to fix it. I definitely need to get chai and play around with it more to like… make it good for my taste buds :)
Preparation
Okay, the last time I drank this, I was expecting for the worst.
Now that I know how it actually tastes like and I KNOW it doesn’t taste nasty, I enjoyed myself! Really different compared to the other teas I usually drink. Give me a choice and rooibos would probably be the last one I’d go for, but I was in a very fruity mood today so I figured Elrond would satisfy that craving :)
Preparation
It’s 9pm and I have an 8am class tomorrow. Done with midterms and I wanna sleeeeep.
Chamomile tonight! Oh dang. Haven’t had this in a while.
Not the biggest fan of chamomile, but it is a good sleepy time tea so chamomile it is!
Preparation
Ori today because midterm is in an hour and I need some waking up to do.
I think I’ve figured this tea out! I just need a whole lotta milk because it’s a bit too nutty for me? It smells good, but the cream gets lost and I like that smell :)
Preparation
I’m still learning how to use steepster and I FOUND OUT THAT THERE’S TEAWARE HERE AND NOT JUST TEA!?
Well. This is a thing that I have.
Being a lazy college student, it’s soooo hard drinking loose leaf tea. Having all these different equipment to make the perfect cuppa. I would boil water in my kettle, put leaves into a big mug and let it brew (since my daddy broke my teapot.. oops), then pour all that through a strainer into another mug. I’m lazy and that’s just too much work, too many things to wash so I kinda just gave up on loose leaf for a while and went with sachets.
THEN a while ago, I asked my mom to buy me some tea and she surprised me with this little beauty! Granted, it’s a bit too small for my liking, but it really does a great job. The tea hat keeps my tea warm as I study, the double-walls doesn’t burn my hands when I grab it, the infuser is big enough to let my leaves expand, and the best part? IT IS SO EASY TO USE AND CLEAN UP IS NOTHING.
I know this is a really old review for this, but I wonder if you still use it, still love it like you did over a year ago? I’m looking at getting one.
Yes yes, I still use this! I did leave it at home while I was in Florida, so it did get a 6month break away from me, but it’s still very much alive :)
I find it very useful for tea tastings/tea boxes. I could easily just set this on my scale, weigh out a gram or two of tea, and that’s enough for the 5oz that this cup can hold.
I love love LOVE the tea hat, the double walls, and the pretty large basket.
I don’t recommend this for like BIG tea drinking days though. Like now, I only ever use this if it’s a sipdown/tea tasting day where I’m drinking no more than 2g of tea in this cup. Anything larger, I brew in my mason jar, or my Perfect Infuser from DAVIDS, which conveniently fits into a majority of my mugs :)
I’ve got a 15oz ForLife mug that I love but it’s sooooo big. It’s hard for tea boxes and samples and when I have my oolong days, like I’ve been having a lot lately. I need something smaller. Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.
Yep, of course! I love this teacup because of the size :)
If you want to purchase it, I got mine through Harney. I don’t know of any other vendors that sell it, but a quick google search should do the trick :)
Irish Breakfast at 7pm probably isn’t the smartest thing, buuut IT’S GOOD.
It smells SO good and tastes even better!
And I need to stay awake because of midterms and essays so I’ll be fine.
Bilbo Brew is definitely one of my favourites!
Preparation
Because Lestrade is my faaaaave.
I needed some waking up to do and the last time I drank him, I couldn’t sleep till 3 or 4 in the morning. It’s noon right now so I’ll be fiiineeee.
I really like Lestrade. Smoky and musky gooood.
Preparation
The last of The Hobbit blends that I have to try!
Okay. This one… I’m not a fan od Rooibos so that’s why it took me forever to try it?
Right out of the tin, it smells like medicine. Just a reeeeally strong super fruity super sweet scent and.. I’m not a fan.
Brewing.. and it still smells like medicine.
It’s a really red colour and it’s only been steeping for about a minute but the smell is still really strong. With the tea leaves out, it still smells like medicine. If you can’t tell, I’m not really enjoying this blend?
Drinking the tea and… ooh it tastes like… I’VE HAD THIS FLAVOUR BEFORE but I can’t remember what it tastes like. It’s like a sweet, candy-ish type of thing?
It tastes like a watered down kool-air or Hi-C… like those sugary fruit juices from waaaay long ago. But of course, this tastes much better.
Not the biggest fan of this blend, but definitely tastes much better than what I expected.
I don’t drink Rooibos. I don’t even know what the correct steep time or temperature is sooooo yeah.
