721 Tasting Notes
Went to the dentist this morning bc of my messed up gum and they said it was nothing to worry about… Legit I told them that I noticed it when I all of a suddenly started drinking tea again and they said that the tea had nothing to do with it!
Recently I’ve been craving Jasmine as I relax before going to bed. Luckily the caffeine in the tea doesn’t affect me all that much! This one has been my go-to tea since it’s not necessarily my favorite, but it’s still a cup that I enjoy!
Also not sure if I mentioned this in a previous note, but my boyfriend and his team started cleaning out someone’s desk (she left to go to a different location a couple months ago so they figured she probably forgot about all her stuff and they’d be safe cleaning out her desk). They found a tin of matcha, Teavana’s double-walled glass matcha bowl, and a matcha whisk. No one knew how to use it but Alex figured I did! So he took it home as a surprise gift to me hahaha. The matcha bowl itself, I could tell just by looking at it, does a terrible job of being a matcha bowl. The bottom comes to a somewhat point and it’s narrow. It does do a pretty good job of being an oversized teacup though!

As per usual, I started brewing this cup and then forgot about it because my sister called…. even though it steeped for probably over 10 minutes, it’s still delicious!
Nice and smooth. Once I get to a manageable tea amount, this would be something that I would love to purchase!

From the Marco Polo TTB ages ago.
Last time I drank Houjicha was maybe 5 years ago and I remember not liking it as much… yeah that didn’t change. It’s the roastiness that I don’t like?? It legit tastes like you’re eating a mouthful of tanbark, and trust me, I know how tanbark tastes like since once in elementary school I fell of a swing and landed on my face hahaha
Anyway, good tea, but not a fan. If you like a woodsy taste, then this would be your cuppa
Flavors: Bark, Wood
Preparation
I remember when I first drank Jasmine I would steep it for literally a minute because I liked it super watered down. Tonight, I had it go for 3 minutes and still felt like there could be a bit more flavor to it so I threw the leaves back in…. and then accidentally forgot about them… oops.
The color is a lot more golden than I would have liked, but it’s at least not ruined! Tons of Jasmine flavor since it was steeping for maybe 6 minutes.
Sidenote: I love Disney+ and I’ve watched over 7 hours of Lizzie McGuire over the course of the past two days. Considering the fact that I worked yesterday and didn’t get home till 9…. yeah.. that’s a lot ahaha.
Backlog!
The Saturday after my cousin arrived, she, my sister, and I made breakfast at my place. I let her chose any tea from my collection to try and I showed her this tea as well since this is one of the weirdest looking teas I own. She went with this one to have with breakfast!
Brewed a bit differently from before. Before I actually followed the directions but it came up a bit watered down. I decided to throw in a couple more pearls and made enough for my cousin and I to enjoy.
Unfortunately when I made my second cuppa (to take with me for the road), I forgot about it and it was far too bitter :( But hey, at least the first steeping was delish!

Cousin came to stay last weekend for a concert and we had quite a bit of tea. She wasn’t feeling well the day before her flight so she mentioned to my sister if we can get some tea for her! I packed them up and put them in some miniature tins and of course, I gave her my fave Jasmine of all time :)
This was one of the many teas we had during her stay!
Preparation
I think I’m going to have to lay low on the tea drinking rn bc my teeth started hurting… I think the sudden change of basically exclusively drinking hot tea during the day shocked my body and now my teeth and gums are pretty sensitive to anything hot or super cold!
Oh well. Still planning on enjoying tea, even though it’s not as often as I would like!
This is basically my favorite jasmine ever! Super light and delicate, and I just love how it’s uniquely rolled! This one in my current collection is maybe a year or two old, but it still tastes delicious! Not quite as delicate as I remembered, but I know that’s coming from the age of it.

A tea I got from the Marco Polo TTB years ago. It was basically vacuum sealed in the bag so the quality of the tea didn’t really diminish as the years went by…
Poured the tea straight into my glass teapot and when the leaves unfurled, it looked AMAZING! And it tastes pretty great too :) Definitely getting some grassy/vegetal notes from this tea.
Well, that’s a Teavana matcha bowl for you. muhaha.
