721 Tasting Notes
Sipdown!
I drank this a couple hours ago and it just tasted like a generic green tea. No jasmine to be found.
Maybe bc it’s been in my stash for ages…
But if you’ve been following me for a while, then you know jasmine is was my first love and I love anything that attacks my mouth with jasmine florals. This one didn’t do it for me.
Sipdown and backlog!
Good tea for my aching tummy a couple nights ago!
I recently just moved to Florida because of my Internship, and man oh man has it been a crazy week. Not with training, but just everything that has happened in the city of Orlando so far. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families that have been affected and it’s scary to thing that every single event that has happened is less than a 30 minute drive away. Can we please just go back to being peaceful? I don’t think Orlando can take it anymore.
You know, if you actually sit down and edit your tea cupboard, you too can get your collection down 100+ teas! I went from 171 teas to 63!!!
Some teas I tossed (bc they’re either too old, or just so nasty that no one should ever drink them), but the majority of them I’ve packed into small samples and I’m giving them to my coworkers on my last day at Disneyland :)
But today’s tea of the day is this lovely one from Adagio! Super easy bc I got it from the oolong samples and it’s in a cute little sachet :) Great lazy day oolong. Nothing too special or too complex about this tea? Just a nice cuppa to get the day (and packing) going!
I declared today as sipdown day and sipdown day it is! Yes. Three teas sipped down is a success for me hahha
But I am slowly getting rid of my teas! Packing them up into smaller bags to give to friends. I think I’m almost to a 2 digit number! And to think today I started off with like 175 teas wow.
This tea smells good, almost like Midsummer Night’s Dream? Definitely looks like it’d taste much better iced though. It does have a bit of a musty undertone to it, but still bright from the lime.
Tastes of dusty lime haha. I don’t know. It’s the teas that have dried fruit that always have that wet basement/dank undertone to it. No matter how bright the fruit is, it’s like wet basement.
((that wet basement would probably be gone if I iced this though… but I’m just way too lazy))
Sipdown!
Cries bc this is my absolute FAVOURITE oolong! Thank you tons to shmiracles for sending this to me my way in our first ever swap (nearly two years ago. Yes. I hoard my tea for that long). This tea has probably gone bad since it’s so old, but it still tastes just as good as it did the first time I had it!
I’m going through my tea collection and seeing which ones I should keep and take with me to Florida, and which ones I should pack up into cuter bags and give out to friends. My collection went from 171 to 135. PROGRESS!!!
((I’m never on here oops))
I haven’t posted for 3 months now, but I’ve been having tea here and there!
Sipdown day today bc I’m legit getting rid of 90% of my teas!
Ehh any free tea is good tea. Not my fave jasmine.
In other news, the reason why I’m getting rid of my teas is because I’m going to Walt Disney World! I’m very excited :) I got a management position over there (a management internship in food and beverage).
Yeah things have changed in the past three months. I took and passed my level 1 (introductory) sommelier exam for wine, and I got this internship aww yeahh. But it’s kinda stressful bc I really do have to minimize what I bring to Florida D:
Okay that’s it for now. I’ll hopefully have more sipdowns/tasting notes today!
Had this tea in SF today! My mom, sister, and I had this tea and their Jasmine Pearls as a tea set. Ahhh I would highly recommend going to Asha, and if you have some time to spare, purchase tea as a tea set! Mine, they served it on a traditional tea boat with a yixing clay pot, serving pot, and a sipping cup! My mom and sister shared the Jasmine tea. They had it in a gaiwan, and the serving pot and two sipping cups.
This tea was so good! This was the first time I actually had tea gong fu style, and it was fab. Though it had that dark, earthy taste to it, it still was pretty light and smooth.
((what is this tasting note I am so sorry. I was just so impressed by the presentation of the tea and the lovely and chill atmosphere that I forgot to pay attention to the tea itself ops))
I’m home just for a week for a mini vacation! My family and I went wine tasting and shopping and all things fab. Today was our San Francisco day :))
My mom, sister, and I made it a mission to go to some sort of tea lounge and found this cute tea place called the Chai Bar (which had Steph Curry tea [my sister and dad are huge Warriors fans]) but sadly, it was closed to Presidents Day. I went to yelp, and found Asha Tea just a block or two away from our next destination! So away we went and we stayed there for a good hour or so until we decided to get lunch and finish up shopping :)
A couple weeks ago, I was exploring the DAVIDs site and found out that they opened a couple stores in Southern California! Bad news: all of them are a good 2 hours away without traffic D:
But this weekend, I drove up to Cal Poly SLO for my friend’s dance show, and on our way back, my friend said that she was totally down to visit the DAVIDs in Thousand Oaks since it was along the way!
She got her iced Fab Fennell and I got my iced Honey Bee Latte! Abigail was in awe of the different tea equipment they had (especially the steeper) and she got to see the teahead side of me bc tea is my one and only <333
BUT YES THIS TEA IS FAB. It could have gotten a bit more sweetener, but it was on me bc I said light on the agave. But a lovely slightly sweet honey comb taste that pairs perfectly well with the milk in the iced latte :)
From the Marco Polo TTB!
Fab tea, however it may have lost some of its flavour… well, it is an old tea bc I’ve had this for freakin forever. The lime has gone away and now it’s all woodsy rooibos, but I sorta like the woodsy rooibos flavour!
Happy Holidays and a very merry Christmas to those who celebrate it :)
I spent Christmas eve and Christmas day with the Mouse, but it was still pretty fab. My parents and sister drove down from NorCal and I was able to surprise them last night! I wasn’t supposed to come home until around 12:30am, but they let me go early and I arrived at 11:30pm, right when we started all our Christmas traditions!
Today was a bit busier so no chance for an early release, but I was working with the best cast members ever so Christmas day was FAB.
((Disneyland did reach its capacity for about an hour and it was slightly chaotic in the booths, but hey, my cast members and I survived!!))
