ok, i haven’t tried this other tea that everyone says this tastes just like, so perhaps i’m biased, but i love this stuff! yes, got the free sample with my ATR order, drank too much milk oolong (ATR also) today, feeling C. sinensis’d out, so turned to my Brioche Free. Not super-fond of the scent, but also didn’t hate it, so i put on the kettle, and brewed up a cuppa….and forgot about it for half an hour. OH NO! just now sitting down with my SUPAH STRONG brioche free, and oh holy cow, i love this! perfect evening taste-a-thon! i was afraid it would be too Zinger, too rosehips and apples, but no! just a little bit of that, and enough of the bready, toasty, rounded flavor that i was hoping for. just delish. i think adding any sweetener would bring out the zing, so i’ll not do that unless also adding milk, which i may try next time. but not this time. no, this time is perfect.

the second steeping of this lovely infusion was definitely best, possibly the third, just enough greenery peeking through the dairy to have a tasty balance.

i found that after that, however, there was just too much. this isn’t a tea to drink all day. it started to grate, that sweet milkiness. i believe i’ll be saving this for one-off occasions where i’m not hoping to resteep all day long. NOT an everyday tea. which makes me sad, somehow.
