Wet smell very roasted almost coffee-esque. 2min 195 3tsp almost burnt smelling, super dark brew. Smooth not much taste. Might try this for a longer steep time or hotter water, leaves never unfurled in my steeper.

Very dark smell chocolate mint, taste chocolate mint. No woody rooibos! Yay!
2nd steep more rooibos flavor. Still have mint but I lost most of the chocolate flavoring.

31Jan: I waffled on adding this to my order for a while. I love cherries, but I hate coffee. Unless it’s the only hot thing to drink somewhere and then I add so much stuff that it isn’t coffee anymore. It was getting high praise on Steepster and I’d thought I’d try it.
Dry- smell reminds me of chocolate covered cherries (Good)
Adding water – smell coffee, cherry coffee – this might not be good.
1st steep smooth, cherry finish, not a lot of coffee flavor.
2nd steep 5 min 8oz – more cherry and coffee in this steep. Still very smooth no harsh coffee flavor.
I really like the cherry flavor and the smoothness. I just wish I could divorce the coffee. I don’t think I’ll get this again because of the coffee.

Flavors: Cherry, Coffee

Preparation
4 min, 0 sec 2 tsp 6 OZ / 177 ML

29Jan: Sample sipdown. milky, very milky. I like this tea beter sans extra flavoring. If you want your milk oolong to be extra milky…I didn’t care for it.

drank Pu-erh Caramel Chai by Tealux
505 tasting notes

Jan 25th: You know those teas you buy because the tasting notes sounded good online. This is one of those teas. I think I’ve found out that I don’t care for chai all that much. And caramel doesn’t belong in tea. Dry leaf smells: carmely, sugary, chai. This tea is okay when hot though the flavors don’t come through well. However, once the tea cools, the chai part is fine. It’s the caramel artificial flavoring that is not good. It pretty much ruins the tea for me. I might try it with sugar to see if it can fix the fake flavor.

Preparation
2 tsp 14 OZ / 414 ML

Profile

Bio

I started my tea journey with Stash/Celestial Seasonings tea bags years ago. All loose leaf, unless I’m sick or traveling.

I like black, oolong, white, herbals, and raw/ripe pu’erh. I don’t drink green tea often.

I play video games, read, and do pottery. My current favorite tea mug is one I threw and glazed.

I generally review teas twice – initial and final steeps.

My cupboard is mostly up to date.
