Bug Reports for Sunday 7/21 Update
The search bars appear to be not working at all. I get no dropdown of suggestions and trying to type something and serves takes me straight to the dreaded kettle page. It worked fine yesterday.
+1 with Angrboda, and we cannot click on a tea while looking at the dashboard without being directed to the kettle page as well
I guess that explains why there haven’t been any tasting notes in forever. No tea pages are loading!
Same here. It doesn’t seem to be all of the teas in my cupboard though. There’s random ones that, when I click them, actually take me to the tea. But the majority of the ones I click I get the kettle page.
Also just clicking on the ‘Teas’ link at the top of the page next to ‘places’ & ‘discussions’ and I get the kettle page. So everything associated with tea appears to be broken. Lol.
Problem continuing here; and confound it! I’ve discovered a new tea I want to rave about!!
I’m having the same problem – I just got a bunch of new teas in, and making notes about them in a notebook is just not the same as posting about them!
It looks like when you try to do search in Search Discussions, you get an error page.
If you google the name of the tea and the brand, Steepster should be one of the first few results that pops up. Then you click on that to go to the Steepster page for that tea and bypass the whole Steepster search thing until it’s fixed. Worked for me this morning when I was ready to type a note. :)
So it looks like the Discussions and Explore tabs are the only things working on the top menu? Teas and Places (and the search bar) get me the kettle page. The Companies link takes me to a list of only “M” companies.
Question : is it normal I cannot see my own new tasting notes in my dashboard ? before the updates we were seeing them so just wondering if this is new or if this an anomaly. I made 2 during the last hour and can only see them when I go on my profile.

See Jason posting about switching hosts. Hope they are able to find something more reliable. And boy… Really would like to see Steepster grow and develop. I’m glad it’s still here and all, but I’m increasingly feeling like I should back up my previous tasting notes.
Me too. Just posted a new tasting note, and it’s not showing up on the Dashboard.
Also, when I write a note for a tea I haven’t rated before and move the slider to rate it, it doesn’t fill up with green like it used to. The steeping parameter sliders fill up with blue though, so it’s only the number rating slider that appears to be affected.
That isn’t normal, but shouldn’t be as common now.
Regarding posts not showing up, I can guarantee you that it’s not the case that they are lost. It is just a problem with them not being displayed when they are supposed to. The database is backedup daily and we don’t let things touch the database that could corrupt it. So, be assured, that your data won’t be lost.
I just posted a tasting note and while it shows up in my tealog it isn’t showing up on the page for that specific tea.

Now that I’ve posted a second note on the same tea the first note shows up, but not the second. I can see both in my tealog.
I have an unread mail notice even though I’ve checked all my messages.
Yes, there have been issues with steepster’s mail feature lately. I’ve sent a few messages that weren’t received on the other end.
Sadly, the dashboard’s been down for a few hours, & even the Explore – streaming feature appears to have locked up about an hour ago.
Oh, well, I’ll keep sipping. I know this has to be a complicated site, & I’m sure Jason & crew have actual lives & jobs in the real world that also demand their attention. This too shall pass! :)
