I don’t know what happened, but this didn’t taste as great today as it usually does. I had to add some half-and-half (ugh shudder) because it was on the verge of bitterness. Chalk it up to the full moon (and my oversteeping), I guess!

Love this blend. Such a big difference between this and the other plain black blends I’ve been drinking this week. If only US teas were made like the UK ones! This was the perfect cuppa today.

Just about oversteeped this today but it still came out tasting great. I really love this blend for a straight-up plain black tea. It hits the spot on the days I feel like having some no-nonsense caffeine to start my day with.

A co-worker brought this back for me after a trip to the UK. I love strong black teas, and the UK bagged teas I’ve tried are always so much fuller than the miniscule US ones. A good, solid everyday blend. I have to be careful not to oversteep this one, but it can be saved with milk if I do.

Tried steeping one yesterday with a dash of milk (I know. Hehe :) and a bit of muscovado. Works well, and the bergamot hint is nice, almost bordering on a wee bit much. A mostly lovely cup.

Say what you will about crappy bagged teas, I can’t hear you! This is something I was raised on, and it is a tremendous comfort to me, just as all the Twining’s teas are. Sometimes I’m a tea snob, but in this case I just can’t be. Guess it’s like tea junk food? And believe me, that comforting quality comes in handy during midterms. Steep it strong with just-boiled water, and then add some milk, and sugar / stevia.

Good for you! Like what you damn well like, I say. My mom drinks Good Earth’s Original tea and has for as long as I can remember. Even after converting to loose leaf I still drink a cup of it every now and then.

I second that. About 1/3 of my tea cabinet is bagged teas. Sometimes I just want something simple® and easy.

Twinnings might not make anything terribly special or exotic, but they still know how to make a good, solid tea. I love their Lady Grey in particular, so what if it’s bagged?

Marie

I’m coming around to bagged teas a bit more. I had a very strong stance against them over the last couple of years after tasting the difference with loos leaf. However it is the high quality tea bags that have been convincing me that all bagged teas should not be grouped together as dust and fannings. I just purchased the Twinings Irish Breakfast bagged tea last night, and will be trying it out today. Like the lovely commenters are also saying, sometimes it’s just easier with bagged tea. Thanks for being bold and standing your ground!!! :)

This tea keeps saving my life when I travel, often the only good tea avaible, very fine breakfast tea, considering it’s not loose.

I really love the aroma. You could smell the stuff in the box from ten feet away…. But the taste isnt amazing or anything. But all in all a decent tea

I’m not a huge fan of camomile tea, although I have been known to have a cup or two occasionally. This has a strong honey smell and taste, but I really have to concentrate to discern the vanilla. It’s a nice, soothing blend, if you like honey.

takgoti

Those are all flavors that I need to be in a specific mood to want to drink, but it sounds very, very comforting.

chana

I totally agree that this is for a very certain mood.

I find this tea a calming one to drink before bed.

Shelly Meehan

Yeah I have to agree. I’m not keen on camomile usually. This blend is nice and smooth. Though I could smell the vanilla and honey with each sip I took and it was divine. For me though that the vanilla was lost and over powered by the taste of the honey. I love honey so I wasn’t to disappionted by the lack of vanilla taste.
This tea is very comforting and its on my fav list for before bed time drinks.

very mild flavor, a little bland, but for a bagged tea, it is alright.

My favourite for late night consumption – not too strong, nice with two spoons of sugar.
Increasingly hard to find.

Not excessively spiced, good for late night drinking, or to go with spiced meats at dinner.
