Twinings

If this is what “malty” tastes like, I like it a lot!! This is the morning tea I’ve been searching for all these months. Perfect by itself but I did add sugar and whole milk and it was just delicious. This tea makes me want to get the loose leaf so I can make a whole pot. There’s hope for me yet!

I think this one is stronger than this brand’s English Breakfast tea, which isn’t a bad thing.

I find this to be a great tea right after dinner. Earl Grey is too heavy and too difficult to get right. Lady Grey is very forgiving with steep times. I do think it is a bit more than just a light version of Earl Grey. The citrus flavors are more pleasant when trying to relax.

Having another cup already! I really like this tea!

I think this is nice! Very easy to drink and a nice light taste. Just what I needed to wind down after a hectic day.

I love a good Earl Grey, This is not the best Earl Grey, but what I love about a GOOD tea is being able to make it into an ice tea also. This tea is awesome hot and over ice. I steep my teas a little longer then most, but I enjoy a strong taste.

I don’t use sweetener in any of my teas…so a good strong tea taste is all I get.

I don’t actually like this much. I’m not a very big fan of cinnamon in tea and I don’t really care all that much for raisins, but it’s a bag so it’s quick and it seemed the ‘warmest’ choice I had in those criteria.

I’ve been outside, giving my ruler some fresh air. Turns out my 30cm estimate was pretty accurate. And it’s STILL snowing. Great big flakes now. Yes, I whimped out when faced with snow and train delays again. I love the snow and I love getting a day off, but I kind of hate getting the day off because of this. It always comes with a side of guilt. Maybe the train would have come if I had just waited five more minutes before giving up. Other countries have way more snow than us regularly and they get by. Is 30 cm really that much? And so on and so forth. I know I’d be faced with O.o looks if I’d shown up at work, but still! (I did actually manage that once. 45 minutes late and nobody said, “Hi, good to see you arrive safely!” or even “About time you showed up!” All I got was " You’re here?!!! What are you, NUTS???" Nice to know they care.)

It’s pretty much just synthetic cinnamon that lacks any sort of sweetness and sour apples. I can’t find any raisins at all. Given the fact that as mentioned I don’t care much for raisins most of the time, I can’t really make myself see this as an all that bad thing.

The tea itself is… peeks into cup … are we ABSOLUTELY sure there IS any tea in this? checks box They claim there is. I’ll give them the benefit of doubt.

All that said, it IS a mass-production tea in relatively cheap bags, so of course it’s a different quality than what I’m otherwise used to. I’m rating it seen in that light and disregarding most of my other things instead of trying to compare them, because they’re worlds apart.

One of my favorite teas, although I’ve only had it in teabags. When I first tried this tea I couldnt believe their wasnt any “bite” or astringency at all with this tea.Smooth is the only word that comes to mind.Ive yet to overbrew it to a bitter end, and am not sure you can.Im trying my darnest to get my grocer to order this in loose leaf for me.Ive heard twinings isnt making this available in the UK anymore just the US market..the world will be a poorer place if this tea ever dissapears.

This is one of my all time favorite grocery store teas.Its lighter than regular Earl Grey,just perfect for an afternoon quiet cuppa.The citrus is not overpowering but pleasant to the nose and pallet.So far Ive just tried the teabags since I cant find it loose except on amazon which I cant purchase from. Hopefully I can find another avenue to purchase the tins.

I really dont care too much for this tea. Its easily astringent if barely overbrewed and a very dusty tea with alot of broken pieces that fall thru the strainer.Overall I wouldnt bother buying this again, doesnt compare in quality in any respect with their loose leaf lady grey,earl grey or prince of wales. Lipton is actually cleaner tasting in my opinion.

I know it’s hardly the best tea in the world, but this and Constant Comment evoke warm, fuzzy memories. That can’t be bad, surely? :)

When properly brewed, and taken with a little milk and sugar, this tea is actually really fantastic. It’s like dessert with caffeine, and it got me through many a looooong day spent in Technical Services when I used to work in an academic library. It brought some much-needed sweetness to cold, dusty afternoons. Although there have been plenty of teas before and since that have been better, this is still immensely comfortable. Like an old plush bathrobe. It may not be pretty to anyone else, but you’ll still wear it around your house and feel utterly at home while wearing it.

It’ll do. I’d rather spend money on a better chai, though, if I’m going this route. More middling than any other Twinings blend I’ve tried so far…and I’ve tried a lot. Kind of disappointing in its mediocrity. At least it doesn’t suck.

If other black teas ease you into wakefulness, this is a firm boot in the ass. And possibly a slap in the face, all at the same time. It’s as though this tea is saying, “YOU. WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU’VE GOT THE RIGHT TO BURY YOUR HEAD UNDER THAT PILLOW?!? OUT OF BED AND ON YOUR FEET, ON THE DOUBLE, SOLDIER!”

This tea? It is the R. Lee Ermey of the Twinings lineup. Sometimes, that’s totally what you need in the morning. Other assessments that mention it as a potentially great tea after a night of heavy drinking are also spot-on.

Light, mildly flowery, but not in an air-freshener sort of way. Perfect with freshly baked scones and just a hint of honey. Don’t overbrew, though…it goes very bitter very fast.

Velvety and light, almost a whisper of a black tea. Good for winding down, not winding up.

Although it’s got cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in the mix, Twinings Christmas Tea isn’t overly spiced. It’s easy to go overboard with holiday spiced teas…I’ve had some where I’ve seriously wondered if I haven’t accidentally steeped potpourri instead of tea.

This isn’t like that. It’s lovely for an afternoon or evening…I hesitate to recommend it as a morning cuppa, simply because like a lot of Twinings bags, I don’t think it’s strong enough. However, it should be noted that I like my black teas very, very strong, so to each their own.

Actually freaking great for a bagged tea.

An excellent tea, it’s like drinking an altoid in a cup :) Strong flavour and amazing aroma

This is my absolute favorite tea. I love it. It’s full bodied, it smells really rough, and with a tiny splash of milk and a drizzle of honey, it’s my favorite thing to exist on during the winter months.

It’s hearty, don’t think for a moment it’s light. It’s intense. It will knock you over if you’re not ready for it. But if you sidle up to it, learn to love it, it will be your best friend for life.

For an inexpensive Earl Grey, this os a good choice. Try brewing it a little strong, sweeten with maple syrup and add cream to it then let it cool and serve over ice. I know it’s different but it’s pleasant.
